  1. ^^That $725 mil isn't for options. It's a done deal. As of today, those hedge funds already own $725 mil worth of stock in the new company. I'm sure news will be trickling out for the next few weeks about the exact ownership structure (I'm guessing that secured bond/debt/preferred stock holders/etc. are also getting a piece of the new company as well) once they get closer to re-listing the stock on the NYSE.
  2. The company isn't magically fixed now just because they cleared out 1/2 their debt. Relax.
  3. I believe "bondholders" is referring to the group of investors that initially triggered the bankruptcy in the first place when SF was unable to make a guaranteed payment on those notes. Sounds like they are agreeing to buy a majority stake in the new company for 725 mil
  4. ^Nobody was saying they should paint it right now. They are all saying that they hope it gets painted in the near future (which seems likely, given that they most likely painted that small section as a test).
  5. This little thing called the internet has made those guides nearly obsolete.
  6. He's pretending to be a rockstar
  7. ^You could fit most of DCA in EPCOT's lagoon. It's 40 acres. ^^Illuminations is over 10 years old. I'm guessing an update is probably in the works. I just hope its not dancing water and mist screen projections.
  8. They never will never announce technical rehearsals in advance. The only announcement will be passholder previews. Outside of that, you'll need to find a cast member friend for their preview (which is usually prior to passholder previews), or get lucky. ...And good luck beating the crowds. As soon as word gets out its testing, annual passholders will over run the park.
  9. If anything, SFMM deserves credit: the art was obviously custom to fit the train AND it fits the theme.
  10. So after being around the lagoon this afternoon with them testing the fountains at nowhere near full strength...It's pretty obvious the show is going to become a water attraction when there is even slight gusts of wind. They're going to have to paint the front as a "splash zone!" ...Or just cancel the show.
  11. ^I'm with you. It has absolutely no effect on the ride itself, and is a creative way to create new revenue for a company that desperately needs it. Good for Six Flags for thinking outside the box!
  12. ...And now we know why Cedar Fair went ahead with the "poison pill" plan. This is going to be fun. It's also another step in the "Cedar Fair is becoming Six Flags" evolution. We are now entering the "Daniel Synder takeover" phase.
  13. Because they got a good deal (rumor is that this was compensation for the Vertigo failure).
  14. ^Perhaps Tokyo, but I'm guessing all the other parks are going for the same thing Disneyland was: a cheap way to get more people into the venue and sell more merchandise.
  15. I haven't been able to ride SoB because it was closed for being a POS. Therefore, I hate it.
  16. ^Robb is talking about 14,000 PAID admissions. No way DCA pulls that in.
  17. In case you didn't notice, one of the main themes of episodes 200 and 2001 was to re-hash old characters/storylines...
  18. As far as "giving away the gate" is concerned: I'd say that offering passes so cheap isn't the problem. It's how SFMM has managed the situation. Rides still don't run at max capacity, the employees still suck (what do you expect for minumum wage?), they still can't shake the "ghetto" reputation, and so on...Just because they've done some painting, talk a big game to enthusiasts, and cracked down on cell phones doesn't mean they've solved the REAL problems haunting the park. USH, Sea World, and Disney have all done "giving away the gate" promotions, yet you don't often hear complaints about how horrible the experience is at those parks.
  19. How many of those 6 million people do you think were there on 2fers? Pretty easy to inflate your attendance numbers when you are giving away the gate.
  20. They've been pretty good about keeping that scanner light working. The neon on the wall? Not so much. It's been dead for a good 6-7 years now...
