Have any suggestions that wouldn't cost billions of dollars and take years to construct? Doesn't seem like there is much else they can do other than busses.

It's also worth noting that this maze is based on the remake, unlike the previous two versions of the maze that were based on the classics (and also handicapped by the fact Freddy was basically shoehorned into the existing Asylum maze instead of being an entirely new maze like this one will be).

Remember that there is a lot more infrastructure than just the rides that are going to be sold on the cheap...Dick could just as likely have been there to check on the kitchen equipment.

We saw something similar happen on the wave swinger @ CGA... Looks like the middle part that is supposed to be raised up went back to the "home position," but gravity kept the chairs swinging.

^Kidding aside, that number is probably a good "ballpark" figure for a major attraction. Labor (don't forget it's not just ride ops...all the support staff has to be included as well: technicians, managers, office clerks, and all the other people that have an impact on the daily operation of a ride), maintenance (parts/labor for repairs & required maintenance, costs incurred keeping all the records up to date, parts stored, etc.), and electricity are definitely not cheap.

I just find it fascinating that both KBF and the state will err on the side of caution over something like glasses, but failed to use the same discretion when looking over the maintenance guidelines...

Amazing how that works: they take all the manufacturers suggested guidelines as a must, but at the same time couldn't be sure if the cable inspection was supposed to be performed monthly or every 6 months...

Bottom line: different strokes for different folks. There's no right or wrong when it comes to how one plans their vacation.

How many of those hotels that they partnered with ran constant shuttles to and from the park and beach? Just selling the tickets doesn't mean anything. That was the problem. You had to go out of your way to get there.

^^^To add to that, neither management team made the slightest effort to pull people away from the beaches or golfing. No shuttles, no partnerships with hotels/resorts, nothing at all. So they never had a chance.

Who on that bench offers the "pick us up when our starters blow" type of energy/skill/ability that we have seen be so important to teams in the playoffs over the last few years? I see that as a serviceable bench, meaning they will suffice for giving the starters a few minutes rest... Oh, and I love Kevin Durant even more now: "Now everybody wanna play for the heat and the Lakers? Let’s go back to being competitive and going at these peoples!"

Haven't given up. Just trying to save up for TPR's Oktoberfest trip. And work. And pay my other bills. Never fear though, a Vegas trip is in the works. Playing for your country for 2 weeks (with one of the greatest college coaches of all time) is a far cry from an 82 game NBA season with a coach most people don't even know... Right now there's equally as much potential for this to go horribly wrong as there is for this to go perfectly...

Why do people always feel the need to interfere with other countries cultures simply because they don't agree? I personally wouldn't go around killing Dolphins, and certainly don't agree with the practice...but who am I to mess with another countries practices?

I personally think too much is being made of this. All three of them are capable of 30+ points a game, but there really isn't enough time in the game for all three to maintain last years scoring averages. LeBron & Wade each accounted for 40% of their teams possessions last year! Teams will most definitely have to "pick their poison" (no way all 3 get shut down), but opposing teams will essentially have an extra defender (without ever really having to worry about sending a double team @ the center) to help force the ball into the hands of whomever they chose to let try and beat them.

It doesn't matter who they get. They are still going to have issues matching up against the Celtics, Bulls, and Magic in the paint. Which, IMO, is going to help offset the advantage they get from their trio of all-stars. Big Z & Juwan Howard are about the best they could do, but it's still going to leave them with a nice big hole in their lineup at the 5. Ultimately, The Heat will still need to double team people down low as the only way to defend in the paint... What they have now definitely makes them the trendy pick in the East, but I really don't think it makes them the clear favorites in the East. Not without proving anything at least. The Celtics core remains together and the Bulls look to be much better with their additions as well.

I don't think anyone is saying they don't have enough to be contenders. Everyone is saying they don't have enough to be CHAMPIONS. Sorry if that wasn't clear. Doesn't being in the Eastern conference automatically qualify you for the playoffs? I'm sure they will have a couple of washed up veteran centers on their roster, but I can also be sure whomever they sign isn't going to able to hang with the leagues best...
