  1. The Heat aren't going to get anywhere without a center.
  2. It could just as likely be that they broke an expensive part, or found some issues with the paperwork (example: how KBF misunderstood Xcelerator's SOP) and need to actually do rehab work to be compliant.
  3. Chris Bosh never did anything in Toronto because he's not a defensive/post up player. He's an extremely skilled PF, which most definitely creates matchup problems for opposing teams...but everyone overlooks the fact that the other team can answer that by posting him up.
  4. I wouldn't be so sure about that. First off all, that's really going to be dependent upon just how much of a pay cut all three are willing to take. Second, and probably more importantly, the Heat are not the only contender out there. And I am hesitant to use the term contender at this point, because we have no idea what the rest of their roster is going to look like. There are other contenders with proven cores already in place that can make a pretty convincing pitch to those veterans too... More importantly, who the hell plays center? In case no one has noticed, explosive wing players or not, NBA titles have been won in the paint. It's not a coincidence Kobe had Shaq/Pau, Wade had Shaq, the Spurs their twin towers, the Celtics in 2008 with their physical play in the paint...Chris Bosh doesn't solve that problem. And it's a huge one (no pun intended).
  5. For those of us who are not local, but have been to Disney before...that's horribly inconvenient. I would also imagine Disney has quite a few customers who fall into this category. Just to see a freaking show I now have to wake up extremely early to beat traffic (I live about 50 miles away) in order to make sure I get a FP? Then if I do make it on time to get a FP (that may or may not be in one of the better viewing sections), I now have to find away to kill the entire day? For the same amount of time I am now forced to invest in seeing this show (unless I pay for an overpriced room at a Disney hotel or buy one of the packages of course... ), I could have hopped on a plane, flown across the country, and still made it in time to see Illuminations. The point is, the way it is currently set up, you have to invest an entire day (or more money) if you want to see this show. Not everyone has the option of going back to their hotel/house/work/etc, and not everyone enjoys a FULL day on Disney property (that can get pretty tiring). And even for the ones who do have that luxury, I imagine it has to be pretty annoying for them to invest that hour (parking, getting FP, getting out) to get the FP, then plan their day to make sure they are there 2+ hours before showtime to re-park, re-enter the park, and get in line for the viewing area so they get a good spot within their zone.
  6. If people are going criticize Kobe for having Shaq and Gasol help him get his titles, what's that say about LeBron? I hope this goes terribly wrong for all of them. I think Stuart Scott said it best: "Michael Jordan didn't run to the Pistons after they beat him. He stayed around until he could beat them."
  7. Isn't that the goal of the $1.2 Billion DCA refurbishment? To get people to spend the whole day in the park? Seems like it's worked so far. Like. Why wouldn't they try to keep us in the park all day? Seems like any given park's goal, really. That's not how you do it. Forcing you to show up at opening to get a fastpass for a show that takes place 12+ hours later is NOT how you keep a guest in the park all day. Maybe after the expansion is done, when there will actually be an entire days worth of attractions/shows to enjoy to fill in that 12+ hours gap...but certainly not right now. As they are quickly learning with every show cancelation...it's not a winning strategy.
  8. I actually just checked the website... The wording about fastpass and the viewing area is AWFUL. It makes the Paradise Park viewing area seem like just one area to view the show. Not THE viewing area. I also don't buy the "earthquake" excuse. I get the feeling there's been a problem for awhile now that finally gave out. The earthquake is most likely just a convenient excuse. People were asking in this thread last week why the platforms were being left at show level.
  9. It is not currently a regular feature of the tour. Kong has taken its place on the route.
  10. I don't buy it. LeBron's camp has controlled everything thus far, yet now there are "multiple sources" that can confirm he's going to the Heat?
  11. In the off chance there really is any interested parties," I am sure they are far more interested in the place for what they can sell. No one is going to invest in the park to continue operating. There's got to be at least $50 million worth of rides/equipment/scrap to be sold in the park right now.
  12. I get the feeling the platforms are being left at "show level" because something is wrong with the platforms.
  13. I'm shocked Disney didn't already have a plan in place for this. Seriously?! All the operations managers involved with the show should be fired immediately for not having a plan in place for a show dump/cancelation.
  14. ^I call BS. Why would Arrow suddenly want to stop selling parts for its older rides? There's so many of them out there that they probably make more money on supporting their older rides than they do their new ones...
  15. ^Yeah, France realized "holy sh*t, there's money to be made here! We'd better regulate this so we can cash in too!" The U.S. should do the same. Before it was just a free-for-all, but not illegal.
  16. Since it is still in technical rehearsals, getting the glasses still isn't a guarantee you are going to get to experience Kong. It still can (and does) close at any time for more adjustments or technical difficulties. They won't hand out glasses if they know it is going to be closed for an extended period of time.
  17. Knott's has been hosting MMA events in their hotel ballroom for a few months now.
  18. Hurricane Harbor isn't Magic Mountain. As Gregg mentioned, that play area hadn't been touched since the park opened. It must have been at least 5 years since they even added that second kids area with the small slide tower. I really don't think this had anything to do with the whole "family plan." I think it was simply intended to be an upgrade to improve the overall experience of the park. I can tell you from visiting waterparks this past summer with Robb, Elissa, and Kristen...a nice kids area makes a HUGE difference in the experience for both the toddler stuck in just that area and the parent left behind to watch the kid. I can also tell you that a happy parent is much more inclined to spend money on food/drink/souvenirs, so this upgrade is sure to have a lasting impact without it having cost the company a fortune. I compare this to something USH upgrading the trams to have larger HD monitors. It's not something they were able to market, but the positive impact it has on the guest experience still makes it worth the investment.
  19. I actually think it is going to be a GREAT addition to the park. Kids areas at waterparks are always packed. Not everything a park does has to be advertised to get a return on their investment. This is going to be a great supplemental addition the park.
