  1. I believe Sea Paradise is one of the most visited parks in the world. I also know Blue Fall is terrifying but amazing.
  2. +100000 points to Knotts if it was Trapped in the Closet.
  3. I was bored because looking at pretty sets gets old after awhile. I very much enjoy the art of the scare, having been involved with Haunt, HHN, and now Dark Harbor over the last 8 years, and sadly I think HHN really lacks creativity in that department. It's either a startle scare w/ a cue or a gross out effect (which are admittedly cool, but there's just too many of them...). Or chainsaws (which there are also too many of).
  4. I agree with Tyler. Those street zones look amazing. I love how immersive they look, and how it's not all about the scares. Including the atmosphere people seems like it would be a GREAT way to increase the scare factor when one of the characters actually does scare you. I wish the HHN's here did more of that!
  5. It's not surprising at all. It has no close by competition (Haunt is competition, but in the greater LA region, there is nothing but smaller independent haunts or HHN to chose from) and Haunt has probably gotten old for many people. I hope HHN is able to stay fresh and keep the momentum going. Personally, I was kind of bored of HHN this year...great looking sets, still too much obnoxious water and not enough in-your-face scaring (too much of the "press foot pedal to trigger audio/lighting, pop out, repeat").
  6. Three shutouts in a row for Jonathan Quick!
  7. Shout out to whomever said hi to me tonight at Dark Harbor!
  8. ^Nope. It's either full keyboard or touchscreen. Side note: I love that SureType was the word you misspelled!
  9. Same. Great show, though the guys from Blink definitely show their age now. Not as much energy anymore.
  10. Jet Stream has probably been the more expensive ride to maintain. I know in the last ten years it has had to have its lift belts reprogrammed, the station motor replaced, a newer PLC installed (Free falls old panel now resides at Jet Stream), plus constant fiber glass work. Not only that, water ride pumps are ridiculously expensive to run and maintain.
  11. Boulderdash, Bizarro, Phoenix are definitely my top three. So in other words, I need to do a TPR east coast trip!
  12. It's still been sold out or very close to it every night.
  13. They also said "if the carriers allow it" to that statement. So in other words: no unlocked bootloaders.
  14. Not just Europe, I'd go as far as to say it is one of the best parks in the world! It's so pretty, has a great collection of rides, and even the hotels are awesome!
  15. ^It was announced at the same time as Up, Brave, and Newt. I doubt it was bumped forward for money: Brave changed directors and Newt got shelved, leaving Pixar no choice but to shuffle their production schedule.
  16. I'm guessing the decision to kill dueling for now is a result of pending lawsuits/insurance claims. I'm sure they will reevaluate it after all that is taken care of and guest comments start to pile up.
  17. ^Except that she is not in jail and probably won't get sent to jail when her next hearing happens. LA justice FTW.
  18. ^^State agencies and insurance companies will require a park to operate the ride in accordance with the manufacturers SOP. However, most SOP's go through changes throughout a rides life based on the parks operational needs. Parks are always working with manufacturers on revisions to the SOP that both parties can agree on that will improve maintenance and operations for the park.
  19. ^I doubt Universal is concerned with the rides "reputation." If they did, wouldn't they want it dueling again?
  20. ^True, but none of those phones have been true stock android. They all have the "motoblur" interface that you can't get rid of. And the updates have been much slower (Droid 2 took a year to get Gingerbread, Droid X 7 months). I guess as long as you don't intend to root and don't mind the "bloat" of motoblur and all the other apps Verizon pre-installs on your phone, motorola phones are not a bad choice. They are well built (my Droid has been dropped so many times), and you will eventually get an update or two before they move on to their next phone and stop supporting yours. HTC has now begun allowing people to unlock their phones bootloaders, so with any new HTC phone you are free to do whatever you want with your phone! Can't say the same about Motorola.
  21. ^^I still need that credit! Left the park early to catch a baseball game.
  22. That's really a bummer. God bless the USA and our litigious society. *sighs*
  23. The droid is the only phone they did that for because it was stock android. Every other motorola phone since has had a locked bootloader and motorola's "blur" UI overlay/bloatware included.
  24. Since there is already an iPhone thread, why not an Android one too? If you do have an android phone, which one is it? And did you root? What rom are you running if you did? What apps do you recommend? I'm still using an original droid rooted, overclocked to 1gHz, and running Cyanogen Mod 7.1. Also, who is buying a Galaxy Nexus? http://www.google.com/nexus/ Side note: lets not turn this into a Android vs. iPhone debate thread. They are both great operating systems running on great hardware!
  25. Those are the suckers who will purchase the safari on their own. Locals are the ones who are much more jaded and harder to get to come to the park, as their mindset is "damn tourists! stay out of my town!" Las Vegas does the same thing, since most locals you talk to will only visit the strip because they work there or have friends visiting from out of town.
