  1. http://tftheride.rwsentosablog.com/2011/08/23/welcome/ Universal Singapore has launched a blog for the ride! The video appears to show a few seconds of ride video and the text in the blog gives away the story:
  2. ^IMO, it would make more sense to just go into the Supreme Scream lot that's already connected to the park. Lots of survey markers were spotted all throughout the boardwalk, so I suspect if they are going into a parking lot it will be that one. Stretch through the boardwalk into backstage and possibly into that parking lot.
  3. ^Exactly. We've all said this 100 times before, but just to say it again: the park absolutely could have been successful with better pricing and ANY sort of plan to get guests away from the beach (free shuttles, hotel packages, etc.). I think it is pretty obvious by now the only intent of the park was to save the original business owners in that area who combined their land/attractions to build the park from losing everything.
  4. ^Legoland offers a lifetime pass for $2500.
  5. Deja Vu+land already cleared for Mr Six Dance Coaster=space for new attraction
  6. Fear of heights is pretty common (even I am mildly afraid of heights), so I'm sure it will still terrify many. The Star Flyer scared the crap out of me because it felt so minimal (literally just a giant chair swing). Windseeker doesn't seem have the same affect because it's more "built up".
  7. ^Exactly. Sadly, Universal has to cover its ass and end the dueling until they can figure out what exactly happened. It is most likely just a pure coincidence of two freak incidents that just happened to be close together, but they have to protect themselves nonetheless. Continuing to operate the ride under the assumption it was just a freak accident and allowing it to happen again would be much worse for the park.
  8. It's real and was shot about a month ago. You can still see some of the tread marks on the ground along the tram route.
  9. They're not going to develop anything until after the lease w/ the amplitheatre expires as well. They just want to start the approval process now (EIR, clearing land, re-zoning, etc.), so Wild Rivers has to be a casualty of that.
  10. The owners of the park are looking to move to a new location (possibly the Great Park). Irvine Land Co. isn't renewing their lease. Irvine Meadows (now Verizon Wireless Amplitheatre) will likely be closing in 2016 or 2017 when its lease expires as well.
  11. Bumping this thread back from the dead because Cirque has announced that the Viva Elvis show @ ARIA will be closing in January to incorporate elements from ZED.
  12. Windseeker was supposed to have a press event this Saturday. Naturally, it has been postponed. Note to Cedar Fair: this is what happens when you go with the lowest bidder.
  13. What the park told you guys almost sounds word by word from what they were telling us back in January...I'm starting to doubt if these "plans" have substance. Or perhaps they are waiting until this season is over before announcing anything in order to drum up interest for next season... Looks like it was a fun event. Kudos to the park for putting it on. I really hope CGA will have something new next year for a future TPR event!
  14. Cedar Point has been claiming Superman isn't a coaster since 2001.
  15. Yup. Running the same scam again. After spending $400 million on a failure, they declared bankruptcy and then bought the park back for $20 million as FPI MBE using a "loan" from themselves (FPI US). So that when when it failed a second time, they were the leading creditor and could fend off other claims/liens against the property. Which of course allowed them to buy it again from themselves out of foreclosure for an even lower price. I'm sure they will find another partner on their scam to "manage" the park so they can run up more bills/take out loans they never intend to pay.
  16. Who knew Larry had a soft spot inside his heart? Very cool!
  17. Ride manufacturers have shops for parks to outsource maintenance to as well.
  18. Haven't people realized by now this is all a scam?
  19. I believe it was just a licensing agreement. Not sure how involved he was. It sounds like he had a haunt next to the sports bar he owns in Phoenix for a little bit too called "Alice Cooper's Nightmare"
  20. I can't imagine a cab ride between the parks being that expensive. The parks are only 5 miles apart from each other.
  21. ^^Lots of complaining that basically boils down to "I don't know who Alice Cooper is and how well his music works with the horror genre, so I'm going to bitch the movie I wanted wasn't announced as a maze." I think this is going to be great!! Should hopefully be less gory and more old school/cheesy horror (which is something I think HHN could really use).
  22. I love it! Even though most guests will probably have no idea who Alice Cooper is, I can only imagine how screwed up this maze will be. John is personally attached to this maze, as he has said Alice Cooper was his childhood hero.
  23. ^^^I don't think it is unreasonable for the family to sue by any means. Should they ask for millions? No way. But it is not unreasonable for them to ask the park to foot some of the bill for the expenses. There is no doubt the park is at least partially responsible for this death, which is where our legal system comes in handy...a judge (or lawyers behind closed doors) will decide how much is the fault of the patron, and how much is the fault of the park and pay the family accordingly.
  24. Personally, I think the factory from Hostel could make for the perfect setting for a maze. Lots of gore, disfigured people, and screwed up killers!
