SBE doesn't have the cash to build "the next big resort." They didn't even have the cash to go through with their re-model of the Sahara in the first place. And they have now partnered with MGM (who also doesn't have the cash for another "big resort").

Very tough to bear. So tough they have to close the entrance to the ride to regulate crowd flow. Went to the park today and didn't even bother with Tatsu or Scream because of their horrible 1 train operation. That "open all year, so they have to get ready for spring break" excuse is BS. The last busy season was Christmas. Four months. That's plenty of time to rehab the trains if they wanted to spend the money. Props to the Goliath crew though. Two trains and they were hauling ass.

More Staples Center VIP Level... The first thing you see when you enter the southwest VIP entrance is a mural of the greatest NBA player ever. This is what the concourse looks like on the VIP level. A concession stand and a bar. It's not very exciting. Also on the VIP Level is the San Manuel Club. It's the obligatory club restaurant all arenas feature. It's fairly large. The San Manuel Club also has the obligatory $40 buffet. At least it's good quality! ...And the obligatory bar. Right above the San Manuel Club (on the B-suite level) is the American Express Platinum Lounge. It's basically just another bar, except you have to have an American Express Platinum card to get in. Entry is limited to 175 people and it always fills up for Laker games.

Maybe if we all buy the coasters Prince Desmond will have the funding he needs to make another attempt at saving the big dipper? Support the cause!

^You can book official excursions on the ship too. On the few cruises I've been on with Robb and Elissa, there's always a huge line at the Guest Service desk on the first day because of this. And even bigger lines the morning off/night before for all the procrastinators.

It's not for show when they have a quiet zone at desperate housewives. The sound definitely carries onto Colonial Street. They usually turn down the volume on Jaws for the same reason.

Bringing this thread back from the dead to showcase more of Staples Center... Today's feature: the slightly remodeled suites New TV and fancy VoIP phone thing that controls the TV. View from the suite. New for the 2010-2011 seasons: the worlds largest arena scoreboard. They also finally added an LED ribbon across one of the suite levels. WINNING! Suite chair. The worlds most expensive buffalo chicken. Delicious, but expensive. See, told you it was expensive. (pay no attention to even more ridiculous price for bad beer) The other half of the suite...exciting, no? Staples Center is also home to a branch of the douchebag hotspot Hyde Lounge. They sell tickets to the game or charge a cover to guests already in the building. The place stays open till 2AM, has tables for bottle service, a dance floor, and charge $15/drink like a normal club would. They took 8 event suites and converted them into Hyde.

^Tablets aren't meant to be full scale computers. They are meant to be a more convenient way to browse the net/watch videos/etc. without the extra bulk of a keyboard/drives.

How long have they been testing the timberliners with water dummies? Doesn't really make sense to me that water dummy testing isn't sufficient... They must have found something pretty serious during testing.

I never said he was dirty. Stuff happens. Hockey is a physical game and unavoidable illegal hits are going to happen. I was just pointing out that shoving a player from behind that close to the boards is definitely going to get a boarding penalty called. The initial contact was definitely unintentional contact...fully extending his arms to shove Campbell out of the way after bumping into him wasn't though.

Ovi's hit was CLEARLY boarding. Chara's hit probably deserved a suspension...it was an illegal hit (interference) that ended badly, which should be treated the same as a boarding suspension would be. That being said, I don't think the intent was malicious. That's just what happens when you are 6'9" and go in for a check with only 1 second to react after the puck left.
