  1. Lets keep the discussion civil. The tone is getting a little heated. As for the comparisons to WWoHP, that's actually a great comparison: non Harry Potter fans leave that land underwhelmed too (see the 10000 page discussion/debate on the topic on these very boards), yet that sure hasn't stopped Universal from making a fortune because the brand is so strong. FYI: As of an article I found dated June 2011, the Cars brand had sold $8 billion dollars in merchandise. I'd say that qualifies as a brand many people enjoy.
  2. Considering that at one point, the Disneyland Railroad was an E-ticket, I'd say that definition is very much open to interpretation.
  3. Whatever the ride is or is not, one thing is for sure: it is going to make Disney a fortune. They may come for good tower, but having a nice themed environment welcome them to park most certainly adds to the experience. More importantly for Disney, a welcoming/themed environment probably makes someone far more inclined to spend money. They are FAR more likely to actually check out the shops/restaurants than if the entrance was just boring and bland (like the old DCA entrance).
  4. True story: Jason Herrera (the "watchdog" they quote) is crazy. Like constantly harass 16 year old kids by making fake AIM screen name crazy.
  5. ^Except for the fact all the resorts cater to their region, so 99.9% of guests could care less if their is a "clone" on the other side of the world! I'd personally be thrilled if they cloned any of those quality attractions you mentioned. Wouldn't stop me from going to Tokyo either!
  6. What's sad is that if the Koch's were able to get the park up and running, it probably would have worked quite well for them. Selling combo passes probably would have helped both parks. Too bad government red tape got in the way. Now what's left of the park will most certainly be sold in pieces so the fair board can recoup something from this mess...
  7. Wristband days=ridiculous lines unless you get there early. Last year when I took my friend, we had to wait 45 min for the zipper (her favorite flat).
  8. Knott's Scary Farm Halloween Haunt 2012 Returning Maze: UNCLE BOBO’S BIG TOP OF THE BIZARRE in 3D Step right up! Don’t be shy! Welcome to the Big Top of the Bizarre! Uncle Bob is here to demonstrate his devious delights! Inside you’ll find a villainous variety of vaudevillian visages to vex even the most valiant voyeurs! Welcome to the greatest slaughter on earth! UPDATED FOR 2012: 1/3 more red clown noses.
  9. ^Agreed. However, if they ever renovate all the levels at Dodger stadium to match what they've done to the Field/Dugout clubs...it would be a lot closer. A teaser of what is to come... Hmm...who is that guy on the chain gang running to get to the end zone? Who are those people looking bored behind home plate???
  10. ^I feel like Legoland is one of those brands that just flies under the radar real well. You never hear anyone talking about it in So Cal either, yet the place is always packed!
  11. Ed Hart is just pissed he's not the one getting to spend other peoples money. I doubt even his amount of money would have gotten the park fully up and running.
  12. I don't know how a car and a roller coaster have anything to do with each other in this instance. The point of making it a requirement that you need to be able to grasp the restraint has nothing to do with the chance of two trains/cars bumping into each other.
  13. Another returning maze announced! Knott's Scary Farm Halloween Haunt 2012 Returning Maze: DIA DE LOS MUERTOS in 3D Sacrificial blood rains down from the skies. The screams of La Llorona, the Weeping Woman, echo all around as the creatures of the night crawl from their decrepit crypts. Venture into the forbidden jungle of El Chupacabra and the blood soaked lair of primordial demons. “Dia de los Muertos”, the Day of the Dead, has arrived. UPDATED 2012: Watch your step through The Chamber of Snakes. (Snakes, why'd it have to be snakes?!?)
  14. The WindStorm is the one formerly at Fun Forest in Seattle.
  15. ^The issue with someone that has no hands is that they do not possess the ability to properly utilize many restraints. I put ability in italics because it is the key word here. Someone in a wheelchair who can transfer, or someone who chooses to put their hands up still possesses the ability to utilize the restraint as intended (if a situation arises where one would need to actually grab on to the restraint to brace themselves).
  16. I'm glad Disney is embracing smartphones...having just bought tickets for a baseball game on the day of the event using the Stubhub app, I think it's great Disney is jumping on board with that too!
  17. I had to watch from work, but I had chills running down my spine and nearly cried. Such an awesome feeling. Even better is now Ducks fans can't hold a Stanley Cup over our heads. And San Jose hasn't won it yet.

  19. Personally, I didn't really care at all it wasn't a true marathon at cga. It was free admission, fast lane on the best coaster in the park, and supported an amazing cause. Not to mention meeting new tpr people I had never met before. What more could you ask for? I had a great time and want to thank robb & elissa for getting the word out and cga for being hosts to a great event! I'll be back next year with a higher fundraising goal for sure!
  20. CGA is now down by $5 as well. Not too late to help out!! Let's get all the teams back to number one!!
  21. He sure did! Thanks for the support! Now who wants to help out with MiA?!?
  22. We're coming down the home stretch..only 9 hours left until the totals are finalized! Can we make it a clean sweep for Team TPR across the board? ACE just jumped ahead of Team TPR at CGA by $45 dollars! And MiA is still $120 away from being the top team! Lets help those teams out and give team TPR a clean sweep! Support this great cause!
  23. ^PM me your address so I can send you the gift!
  24. Thank you all so much! $100 left until I am #1!! I really appreciate the support! And Team CGA has broken the $2,000 mark!!!
  25. The CGA team is so close to breaking the $2,000 threshold! And I'm less than $200 away from being the top fundraiser! My offer still stands: $10 will get you a special transformers ride souvenir, a bonus USH gift, and I will also raffle the prize of CGA tickets+backyard BBQ passes away!
