  1. One other aspect of this: sure Intamin rides have more problems, but they also provide the proper support to parks in working through any issues. Parks know exactly what they are getting.
  2. Remember kids, always lockout/tag out when in a ride track!
  3. The joke is on them: Brady Quinn is their QB now! (Side note: Matt Cassel is a family friend, so I was extra bummed out to see him go down.)
  4. But they're uniforms are supposed to be so high tech they can't be tackled.
  5. That's exactly it. Southern California has so much to offer on its own, let alone what the rest of the country and world offers me...that it will take a world class ride to get my interest. Full Throttle will surely be a big hit for the park, but it won't get me to the park outside of West Coast Bash!
  6. Good to see this park keep growing. I love that all the "smaller" parks in Europe consistently add major rides to their park!
  7. If I remember right, Sun Park was the site of beach volleyball for the olympics.
  8. I always thought that ToonTown Fair looked too temporary...the new area looks great!
  9. I'm glad SFMM keeps building mediocre rides: it gives me yet another reason to spend my money elsewhere on TPR trips and only visiting the park during WCB!
  10. This is just pure speculation on my part, but my guess would be that Disney still has GardenWalk in their plans. Perhaps the investors take the financial risk and down the line Disney licenses the brand and operates for them?
  11. ^Georgia did its usual Georgia thing and showed they were vastly over rated. The next two games (@LSU and @Florida) will be more telling. Should be two more horrible offense/defensive struggle games that could go either way.
  12. Since it has been almost 10 years since my last visit to Liseberg, I suppose I should start saving now for the 2014 Scandi trip! Looks like a great addition to the park!
  13. I'm sure Paramount actually has very little to do with this park outside of "we'll gladly take your money and license you the brand."
  14. For comparisons sake, I went to that new haunted attraction in Santa Monica called Paranoia. It was beyond awful. Luckily I only had to pay $12 through living social, but the full price of the event is listed as $24 online or $30 if you buy at the box office. Fright Fest I suspect is both of higher quality and a much better value.
  15. ^Please leave the moderating to the moderators. There was nothing else Guy needed to quote to get his point across. And nothing was taken out of context.
  16. I'm just happy to see SFMM trying to improve their offerings. Halloween Haunt and Halloween Horror Nights are separate ticket events that can cost up to $66 and only operate at night. Fright Fest is unique in that you can be in the park the entire day and night, pay extra for the mazes, and still have it come out cheaper than either of those events. Or if you have a pass...you only pay for the mazes! Something else you can't do at Universal or Knotts.
  17. I am not a moderator or anything, but me thinks this would be a bad idea, not to mention is not allowed according to the Terms of Service contract that you agreed to. You read that before you signed it, right? Exactly. We were informed at West Coast Bash a few years ago that the site of Kingdom of the Dinosaurs was in very bad shape and was unsafe for even an organized tour (it's just a wreck). So, do not even consider sneaking in there for photos and posting them here (or anywhere else, for that matter). Aside from that, there's literally nothing left. Everything that could be salvaged (animatronics, set pieces, etc.) was taken out and repurposed for Haunt, and everything else was demolished during construction of Johnny Rockets.
  18. ^My assumption would be that being a smaller park, they were unable to afford to properly maintain it. I imagine ordering parts and getting technical support from Maurer Sohne is slightly more expensive on this side of the world, in addition to the labor costs and what not as well.
  19. It can change from night to night based on productions, but the gist of it is that you still hit the key areas: metro set sets, western street, court of miracles with some fake ghost stories thrown in to make it fit HHN.
  20. ^Yup! I thought FSU was in the drivers seat for a berth in the BCS game with their weaker ACC schedule...so much for that. Now it seems like the winner of the KSU/WVU game takes over that role. But there's still a ton of football left...could be headed for the most controversial BCS selections yet the way top teams keep falling and/or have yet to play each other!.
  21. Winter break is a peak time. Since Knott's is the only year round park, it also probably helps Cedar Fair a bit in what is their slowest financial quarter of the year.
  22. It doesn't matter where the ball is. The umpire just has to use his judgement as to whether or not any infielder (or an outfielder if they bring an extra fielder up) can make the catch with "ordinary effort." Since Pete Kozma was still able to easily get under the ball, it was technically still able to be called an infield fly. It's a classic case of intent vs. the letter of the law. The obvious intent is for runner to be protected from an easy double play if the fielder intentionally lets the ball drop, which would have been impossible given where the ball was. However, by the definition of an infield fly in the rulebook---it was the correct call.
  23. Historically, Knott's has opened major rides in December. Both Ghostrider and Silver Bullet opened in December.
