Vekoma's wooden coasters were FAR from terrible (granted it was in 2005, but Loop-Garou was kick ass!), so I am sure their construction/design expertise will be utilized in these new markets for RMC.

SLS seems like it is in the twilight zone: unless they offer great rates, who is going to want to stay down there for "modern luxury" when they can get that all over the strip? There's already too many mega-clubs on the market, so again, who is going to want to party down there unless they pay a fortune for a star DJ? Some of their restaurants are good, but again, nothing you can't find all over the strip.

The article seems negative because that website feels Sam Nazarian is a sketchy dude (the only way he got the money for the casino was by offering green cards to foreign investors---seriously!), "simple/modern luxury" is boring, and it is a pipe dream to think something high end will work down there.

I doubt it is going to happen at this point. Side note: it's still ridiculous El Toro wasn't converted into a commercial airport.

I don't think there was ever any serious interest in SFMM. I think Cedar Fair just wanted to look at the financial information of SF and see if it could pluck away some of the east coast or Texas parks.

They were going to sell the land to developers…I don't remember Cedar Fair being interested.

^Dave said it best: there is no one thing that will ensure a parks success and allow it to continue to grow. It all depends on the market and managements ability to understand that market. Having marquee rides is only one part of it. You have to market, have premium products, have good margins on food and merch, understand your local market so you know what to do when it comes to annual passes, have seasonal events, add attractions, and 1,000 other things a park may need to focus on.

TPR is a true community. I have met so many great people that I consider great friends, though we live all over the world and rarely get to see each other.

I'm sure it is great when it flips, which is what it is supposed to do! But SFMM had to go ahead and add weights, so for the most part you don't flip on a ride designed to flip and instead get beat to hell as a result.

Probably because magic mountain will half ass it. People complain so much because Sfmm makes it so easy.
