SeaWorld Orlando (SWO) Discussion Thread

I didn't even realize REO Speedwagon was still a band. -
Saban has reportedly agreed to another extension at Alabama AND Mack Brown isn't going to step down...

NEWS: Wet'n'Wild is coming to Sydney!
Jew replied to XYZ's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Of all the things that stood out…I really dug the mini water slide signs. -
^One thing is for certain: everyone is going to get richer, whether it be from their new school or their current school giving them a raise to keep them…except the players. I wouldn't be surprised to see Saban to Texas for one reason (other than the money of course): what else does he have to prove at Alabama? I think great coaches are "wired" to always want to be challenged, so moving on to try something else is just natural to them. If he takes the Texas job, has anyone ever won a national championship at three different schools?

^Wow, that is quite drastic! SLS seems like it is in the twilight zone: unless they offer great rates, who is going to want to stay down there for "modern luxury" when they can get that all over the strip? There's already too many mega-clubs on the market, so again, who is going to want to party down there unless they pay a fortune for a star DJ? Some of their restaurants are good, but again, nothing you can't find all over the strip.

The article seems negative because that website feels Sam Nazarian is a sketchy dude (the only way he got the money for the casino was by offering green cards to foreign investors---seriously!), "simple/modern luxury" is boring, and it is a pipe dream to think something high end will work down there.

What makes a park grow?
Jew replied to Coaster Curt's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^Dave said it best: there is no one thing that will ensure a parks success and allow it to continue to grow. It all depends on the market and managements ability to understand that market. Having marquee rides is only one part of it. You have to market, have premium products, have good margins on food and merch, understand your local market so you know what to do when it comes to annual passes, have seasonal events, add attractions, and 1,000 other things a park may need to focus on. -
Fun day of games in the snow! Not fun day in the snow? The NFL banning tailgating at the Super Bowl, and forcing all fans to either pay $50 for a shuttle, take public transportation, or pay their outrageous price for parking since cars will not even be allowed to drop people off without paying for parking.

I agree. I don't think either team is going to be able to slow each other down. Going to come down to turnovers IMO.

But they do have Hash House a Go Go!

TPR is a true community. I have met so many great people that I consider great friends, though we live all over the world and rarely get to see each other.

^It's all about execution. You can know what is coming, but if Auburn is executing and you are not---it doesn't matter.
