  1. So, what did you think of it? It looks terrifying, yet exhilarating!
  2. And they did the monkey bars in the rain! Slippery! Well done!
  3. I was wondering how many people on the trip would successfully attempt the monkey bars!
  4. <-- Pineapple float at MK. As far as I know, that's the only place that serves them. Peter Pan almost always has a ridiculously long wait. Glad you're having fun!
  5. Way to overreact, lady. Now, this poor kid will probably be teased relentlessly by his peers for a.) having a prude mom who would not only call to complain about something so piddly, but also go to the media about it, and b.) saying that he just wanted it for the bunny.
  6. As someone who was irritated by the spoiled sense of entitlement of your post, before Robb even responded, let me help you with this. I'm not "techy," either. I don't know how to create an MP3 voice file, but if I were so inclined, I wouldn't expect "someone" to "tell me how." I would do exactly as Robb suggested - google it. Then, if I couldn't figure it out on my own, I would nicely post in the "Ask Alvey" thread for some technical assistance, detailing what I had tried to help myself, and where I got stuck. I wouldn't just expect everyone to bend to my level of incompetence. Life isn't fair. Get used to it. It's going to get a hell of a lot less fair, if/when you move out of your parent's house and have to support yourself. I'd love to win a TPR Bag-o-Crap - who wouldn't? But I don't have the technical skills, nor the time to invest in acquiring them. So, rather than whining about how unfair the contest rules are, I'm just going to continue to enjoy the updates and be happy for the winner of the coveted Bag-o-Crap. When you have your own website, you can attempt to make up your own contests with rules that you deem are "fair to everyone." Way to suck the fun out of an offhanded caption. [/momrant] On a completely unrelated note... Elissa - thanks for the bowlady link! I ordered 4 pairs, to start! Guy - you crack me up! Robb - thank you, as always, for taking the considerable time and effort on your vacation to post updates for those of us travelling vicariously!
  7. Thank you for sharing your photos, and congratulations on #800! What is a magnum bar?
  8. The picture of Lou's veins is freaking me out. (And this is coming from someone who deals with people's weird veins on a daily basis.) Definitely shows the force of that lift launch! The ultra-cute picture of KidTums has me fighting the urge to send her everything I own, and also wondering how you keep all those adorable bows in her hair? (Anything I put in my daughters' hair just slides right out. ) Thank you so much for the awesome updates!
  9. ^Exclusive ride time.
  10. I'm finding that each and every KT photo elicits an "Awww! She is sooo cute!" Seriously, I can't help myself! She is sooo cute!!! Great update, Robb! Thanks!!!
  11. The park looks so sad in your photos. I just want to give it a hug.
  12. Congrats on the weight loss! I'm always so happy to hear about someone getting serious about lifestyle changes, after a health scare. I'm a neurology RN, and we have a lot of "frequent fliers," people who just don't take care of themselves. I would probably be out of a job, if it weren't for people who smoke/drink/drug, and/or don't manage their high blood pressure, diabetes, or weight. Seriously, I'd bet at least 90% of my patients land in the hospital due to lifestyle choices. We all tend to think, "It won't happen to me." Keep up the great work!
  13. Great start! I'm glad to hear you were able to make it to Waldameer. As a neurology RN, I have to add my two cents about the seizure. They can be very scary to witness, when you are unfamiliar with them, but the only thing you really can do is make sure the person is in a safe place, and wait for it to be over (usually less a minute.) The two major concerns with a seizure are injury from falling, and if they don't come out after three minutes or so, but continue to seize uncontrollably (status epilepticus,) which can be fatal. My PSA for the day - if you ever witness a seizure, make sure the person is in a safe place (on the ground, nothing to bang into or roll off of,) stand back, and watch the time. Be aware that the seizing person may bite his/her tongue and/or foam at the mouth (and it may be bloody,) and possibly void the bladder. If the seizure continues for more than three minutes, call 911. End PSA. Back to theme park fun!
  14. Why, yes, I am afraid of heights, and those pictures make me want to hurl! Still enjoyed the update, though![/i]
  15. That sandwich sounds good! (Of course, anything sounds good, right now, because I haven't been able to eat all weekend, due to unrelenting tooth pain that feels like my face is in labor. Why do these things always happen on the weekend? )
  16. This park advertises very heavily in Jacksonville. I know quite a few people who have never been to the Orlando parks, but do go to Wild Adventures, which is slightly closer and a LOT cheaper. Thank you, so much, for posting this, Erik. I've been curious about this place, ever since we moved here. Those bugs remind me of the pissing bug from Bonbonland!
  17. That is fantastic! I swear, if we could have pets in our rental house, I would take Petunia. I totally fell in love at first sight! I used to volunteer every Sunday at a no-kill cat shelter in Minneapolis. Rescue organizations are very dear, to me!
  18. I'm such a Luddite, I don't even text! (Actually, I'm just cheap. I can't see paying extra for texting. That's money better spent on vacations!)
  19. Wow - the Nashville Zoo looks just like the Jacksonville Zoo. I guess all the zoos are cloning each other. Great report! Thank you for sharing!
  20. It sucks that career and family demands sometimes pull me away from TPR for long periods of time, but the great thing is when I come back and find fun threads like this! This will help me stay awake and amused during quiet nights at work! Thanks!
  21. With three young children, it's all about McDonald's. The pull of the Happy Meal is strong. Someday, I hope we can upgrade to more highfalutin fare, like Panera.
  22. I love Petunia!!!!! If only I lived in PA. And didn't rent. I'm sure she will find a wonderful home, if she hasn't already! Best of luck to you! I'm going to pass the link along to my NJ/PA area friends.
  23. Great thread! I'm not a fan of chain restaurants, either. My two favorite restaurants here in NE FL are a seafood shack and a local pizza place, run by a guy from Italy, by way of Brooklyn. I am painfully cheap, though, and can't ever imagine spending $100 on a single meal, although the food does look amazing! I'll go back to my quiet drooling, now.
