I'm deeply ashamed that we never made it to the Germany pavilion to meet you. I've just recently started spending time on this board again, since we dragged ourselves into the current century with cable internet! Wish you could come back to the states - I know how hard it is to move away and then go back home again. Maybe Robb and Elissa could use a nanny!

I'm not a big fan of breakfast foods, so I often have all sorts of dinnery-type food when I wake up. Of course, now with my screwy schedule, working overnights, I eat dinner with my family for breakfast, when I wake up at 5PM, before work. Then I have lunch at 1AM at work, and my dinner is at breakfast time, when I get home around 8:30AM.

CNN is reporting that she is 16. -
{{{hugs}}} Scary. Glad you were able to get her out ok. I can totally relate to the bad luck of having your parents there to witness it and start stressing on you. I'm sure they know KT will be ok with you guys in the parks, they're just shook up. I would hope the park would take it a little more seriously, coming from you and Robb, than they would from a GP complaint. Hope the rest of your visit is much, much better!

I've been trying to come up with a reply, but Terry said it better than I ever could!

Don't be haters. Thomas is like crack for toddler/preschool boys - they can't get enough of it! My son is starting to outgrow it, now, but he would have been all over this two years ago. Looks like they did a nice job with it. Sure, they could have done more - you could easily fill a whole park with all of the Sodor Island stuff - but they also could have done a lot less. BTW, my husband and I were never crazy about watching Thomas with the kids, but we would actually sit down and watch the Wiggles. Their live shows, particularly, are a lot of fun and very well done. You don't have to like it, but, unless you have young children - especially one with a disability, don't be putting it down, because you really can't understand.

Excellent report - SDC is now on my must visit list!

After the Epcot TR, your reports are on my automatic must-read list. Loved this one too, and I'm not even a coaster fanatic! LOVED the line jumper list. LMAO. Too many other great bits to mention. Excellent job! (insert signature move here)

Maybe you should send him an email, to ask him!

Yea for grandmothers!!!! My mother is planning on coming down to visit, after the baby arrives. My kids miss her sooooo much - she spoils them rotten! Hope you have a great visit with your parents.

Traffic. Grrrr. Jacksonville is pretty bad. I live at the beach, but work on the west side of town, 20+ miles. It takes me 45 minutes to get to work. Thankfully, I work the night shift, so I'm going against rush hour traffic, both ways. Otherwise, it would take me at least twice as long. We're considering moving to Orlando in the next year or two, which would be infinitely worse.

Applebees Serves 2 Year Old A Margarita In a Sippy Cup!!!
moinab replied to GMAN962's topic in Random, Random, Random
I don't know - have you ever tried to drink out of a sippy cup? You can only sip out a little bit at a time - it would take quite a while to get a shot down! -

Good to know it lives on somewhere. Even though I hated it. -

^^I'm a registered nurse, mother to 2 (with a 3rd on the way,) and I'm also well acquainted with margaritas. A sip of a margarita is not going to make a 2 year old drowsy and vomit. My point is that a toddler would have to drink many sips - more than any toddler I have encountered would be willing to do, without a big fight. Of course it's possible that the child did drink more, it just seems unlikely to me, especially since the article mentions that he was making a face and pushing the cup away. -

Oh yeah, it was gone in the early 1980s, but it had an afterlife at another park, for a few years. I'm sure it's completely gone, now. -

We really need to check out SFNE the next time we go to visit my mom in Chicopee (hopefully next summer.) This was my home park, growing up, but I haven't been since the summer I graduated from high school (sadly, probably before you were born!) The Thunderbolt is the only thing I recognize from the old Riverside days. Wildcat was my first non-kiddie coaster. I don't think it exists, anymore. -

This doesn't smell right, to me. A 2 year old is not going to get drowsy and start vomiting from a sip of margarita. A 2 year old is also not going to voluntarily drink the rest of it, after taking that first sip and deciding he doesn't like it. The first line states that the child was making faces and pushing it away. I'm sure it wasn't intentional, on the restaurant's part, but the rest seems questionable. -
The Galapagos Islands are on my list of things to do in my lifetime. I've always wanted to go there. What does living in New England have to do with seeing whales? It's not like they hang out around the Mass Pike. I grew up in MA, and I never saw a whale, outside of captivity. Big deal.

^^"Family," in my opinion, would refer to a park that has attractions that appeal to everyone, not just coaster enthusiasts. I love theme parks, but I am not *gasp* a huge coaster fan, thanks to a tremendous fear of heights. My kids are the same way - they love theme parks, but are not big thrill seekers. "Family" would also refer to a park that is clean, well run, and not overrun by ill-mannered, foul-mouthed people (I'm not a prude by any means, but when every other word out of someone's mouth is a profanity, it gets to be a bit much) - in other words, someplace you can enjoy a fun day with your family. I think that's a pretty basic concept. Not every family can afford to go to Disney. I was very fortunate to visit once, growing up, when I was 10 years old. I didn't get to go back until I was 35. Most of my park experience was at Riverside Park (now SFNE.) I have never been to Kentucky Kingdom, but will make it there, eventually, I'm sure, and I applaud any efforts to broaden the appeal, making it more enjoyable for everyone. -
We're going to visit friends in Atlanta, the end of July. We're planning on doing the CityPass, and my son is really excited about going to the Georgia Aquarium. I've been following the whale shark saga, and am feeling a little icky about going, now.

Oh yeah, anytime you want to talk baby stuff, I'm your girl! After my first, I was able to stuff myself uncomfortably back into my jeans around 12 weeks, but I had to start working out to get my abs back in line, and that took another 6-8 weeks. After the second, it took me over a year to get my shape back, but I could never find the time to work out because she was an extremely difficult baby - we called her the screamapillar (after the Simpsons episode!) Rhiannon is 4 1/2 - she'll be almost 5 by the time the baby arrives, and I have almost nothing left from when she was a baby (she was supposed to be the last - oops!) I would love to have some of those adorable KT outfits! BTW, it can't be stated enough how adorable she is! Are you seeing any of yourself in her? In the photos you've posted, she looks so much like Robb! I can sympathize, because Rhiannon is a miniature, female version of my husband. She does have my hair, though!

Good luck with the weight loss and getting back in shape! It's going to be painful at first, but you are young and she's your first, so you'll bounce back quickly. I, on the other hand, will be 39 next month, and this baby is my third - my body is not very happy with me, at all, and I'm terrified of the wreckage I'll be left with, come November! We put a bazillion miles on our stroller. Sadly, we're going to have to retire it and get a new one, this go 'round. BTW, just found out last week that we're having another girl! My son is ok with that, but my daughter is a little put out, being the diva that she is. Sorry to go off on a me tangent, there. Keep working out, daily, but slow it down a little, until your muscles adjust. In six weeks or so, you should be back in good shape!

A Rise & Scream Heads Up!
moinab replied to shepp's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
In my very limited experience with SeaWorld and WDW, it seems the theme park GP just doesn't handle early mornings very well. We're early risers, so the earlier a park opens for us, the better! The crowds always seem to appear around 11 - noonish. Sounds like you had a great trip!
