  1. My knee hurts when I run/walk/bike. My shoulder hurts when I swim/lift/pull-up. So what the hell can I do to stay fit?
  2. I never watch TV anymore (except Lost) so this doesn't bother me the slightest bit. I stopped caring about the WB when they shuffled Buffy, and even then I never watched UPN.
  3. ^I don't know if I've said this yet, but you are a very beautiful young lady.
  4. Is it safe to say "let the second golden age at Disney Feature Animation begin" yet?
  5. I'm seriously considering becoming a donor at a sperm bank. Sorry, was that TMI.... well too bad!
  6. Retheming this ride to anything MTV would seriously suck beyond all necessary suckiness! Why on earth would they change something as classic and timeless as sci-fi and replace it with something that will end up outdated in less than 5 years? I can't stand the mentality of some park management teams, trying to keep everything "hip" and "edgy" for today's generation. If this retheme does go through (as I also highly doubt they'll rip out an entire ride) it'll end up costing more in the long run. Just my HO.
  7. It's 2:30pm, and my boss still hasn't showed up.....hmmmm. Al "is it time to party yet?" Gonzalez
  8. The one thing that I don't understand is why all the cloning of DCA's ride system? I haven't really been reading too much about the different Towers, but it seems to me that the MGM version is superior in almost all aspects, from the show scenes and fifth-dimension room to the loading/unloading. Why would the WDC want to mass-produce something inferior to..... oh wait, never mind. DCA ride system aside, I'm definitely looking forward to both TDS and WDS. They look very promising.
  9. Excellent photo TR! I haven't been to the Mountain in 4 years, so it's nice to see all these changes coming from different perspectives.
  10. That's so lame and retarded, it's great. I LOVE it! I can't believe I've never heard this before. Glad to know that I'm not a geek.
  11. I'm with Elissa on this one. I have no idea what's going on. Anyone care to clue in the clueless?
  12. OK, I understand that my boss would want to hire Chinese people, as he is Chinese. I have absolutely no problem with that. But it really irritates me when I have to struggle with someone's broken English. I mean no offense to anyone, as I think the Chinese language is very beautiful language. But I am in a position at work where I have to work with EVERYONE on a semi-personal level, and it's very hard to do so when I can barely communicate with someone. Most of the time, I have no idea what the new hire is trying to tell me, so a simple task that should only take a couple of hours at most ends up taking me ALL DAY! ARRRRRGGGGHH!!
  13. Like some others have stated, I prefer my popcorn popped in a pot on the stove. We use peanut oil in my house, which actually gives the corn a better consistency when popping and rarely do we have kernels that don't pop. I never cared for cheese or butter on my popcorn, but I'm a sucker for hot sauce, especially the Mexican brands..... ok, now I'm hungry for (you guessed it!) popcorn with hot sauce!
  14. Wow, am I the only one who actually loved having braces?! I had them for 2 1/2 years and got them removed when I was 16. I used to smile like crazy when I had them, I just thought they were so cool for some odd reason. Sure, the pain was there, but it wasn't that bad. And I know all the precautions one has to take, like never chew gum, eat hard foods, or drink soda. I'm not proud to say that I broke every rule (except drinking soda... yuck!) yet somehow I never broke a bracket. I say embrace your metal mouth status while you have it. It won't be forever.
  15. That road looks all too familiar. My guess is also the Grand Canyon. They said they're going to a "park," which could be "national" and not necessarily "amusement." And if anyone noticed, the third clue is "Cliffs" without the apostrophe, so it is definitely plural. And where else does one find "cliffs" in that direction? ^It looks like Mike beat me to the punch! My guess towards the "engine" is that they're taking the steam engine train to the Grand Canyon.
  16. Thanks for the feedback. I ended up buying a Deluxe for both my parents. I figured this would be the better buy because my mom doesn't drive, so she'll need my dad to take her, and he works during the week. They both went five times last year (without a pass ) so if they continue the same trend this year it'll pay for itself in less than four visits.
  17. Hey all, I'm planning to buy my mom an annual passport for her birthday (February 1) and can't decide which one. The Southern California passport gives you 220 pre-selected days and is $149, but blocks out all Saturdays and most of the summer season. The Deluxe passport gives you almost 100 more days (including Saturdays) but it's $229. Do you think the extra bite in my wallet is worth it? Thanks.
  18. Why is it that 50F feels colder in SoCal than anywhere else?
  19. ^Robb, I couldn't say it better myself. Knott's really used to be an amazing park. I went in August 2004 after a 4-year absence, and I can honestly say that I don't desire to return. Not even Haunt is what it once was. Sigh. BTW, great TR, thanks for posting. I have enjoyed your TRs thus far.
  20. I know I'm a little late on this one (just by an hour) but I hope you had a great one.... HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY!
  21. I've only gotten through the first 32 pages, and I can honestly say this beats all other updates thus far. Can't wait to finish reading through the rest of the update (Tivoli Park looks amazing!!). One question: What is up with all those ride-around stuft animals? Ok, just finished the rest of the TR, and I am blown away by Japan as a whole. Can't wait to see the TDR... someday. Thanks for taking the time to post your awesome pics and caps. You rock, Alveys!
  22. Ahhhh, it feels good to be back in Cali. Two weeks in Arkansas is way too long!
  23. Windjammer at Knott's, that POS was just brutal. Far worse that Flashback at SFMM, which I actually LOVE  .
