Most intense brake run?
WestCoasterKing replied to Mikxy's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Yes. All after Xcelerator are out and back ovals. Kingda Ka does have a hill after the top hat but it's also along the straightaway. -
The light thing was a joke. But as for the other part, you don't think if they announced the demolition ahead of time there wouldn't be injunctions placed within minutes to stop it? There are groups that have been trying to get the 'K' protected. It may not be on any official list but that doesn't mean they haven't been trying. Knott's backed down last time due to public pressure and the groups haven't let up. If they announced it again the groups would be out in force and they'd find a judge to agree with them. You forget that it's California. There's no such thing as "their property".

I would say either Xcelerator or F U L L T H R O T T L E. -
Everything in this post is giving me in aneurysm. They did take down Windseeker, there was no backlash, Knott's never backed down because the ride is in f*cking Kansas right now and nobody cares if 2 enthusiasts think the "K" is a landmark because it isn't. What are you on? Read that line again, slowly. "Why do you think they didn't tear IT down FOR Windseeker?" as in they didn't tear Sky Cabin down and instead built Windseeker elsewhere in the park. Still have that aneurysm?

1) Last time they did that nothing was up, last time they do that the webcam was undergoing routine maintenance. 2) If they wanted to keep it a secret, they wouldn't have a pointed a live 24/7 webcam at it 3) It's their property, they can do whatever they want with it, there won't be any "backlash" and if there was nobody would give a sh*t because it's their tower, they own it and they can do whatever the hell they want. Why do you think they didn't tear it down for Windseeker? Backlash. People rose up and Knott's backed down. Made up the landmark story.

They haven't announced yet that SC is coming down and they don't want to tip their hand by turning off or turning the cam away. Last time they did that people knew something was up . But in all reality I don't think they are dumb enough to do it in secret. The backlash would be too much ZI didn't say he was a good enginner

Okay, my brother, who is an engineer, was looking at the photo I posted and he said he sees something glaringly clear. The pile of ruble and the position of the "pond" are not accidents. Look at the pond. It's long and narrow and aligned perfectly with Sky Cabin. The rubble is also on that line. He predicts that they are getting ready to dynamite Sky Cabin and it will fall perfectly into the pond with the rubble acting as fulcrum to soften the fall.

That might work for coasters with individual cars but a train with several cars like Sierra Sidewinder for example it wouldn't. One non-spinning car would throw off the axis. They work by all counter acting each other. And a whole train of non-spinning cars would defeat the purpose of the "gimmick". As for that you are just wrong. It's not a gimmick. It adds an element of disorientation to an already disorienting ride. As has already been stated there are plenty of non-spinning family coasters. There is really no need to even offer the option because there already is the option. It's called a go ride a different ride.

I know you're being funny not serious but I still have to go there. Sorry. You'd think they'd line any type of pool/pond/lagoon/etc so the water stays in. I think turns out to be run-off from something off camera. But it still raises some questions nonetheless. I thought it interesting enough to post.

If you want to ride a non-spinning coaster there are plenty of them out there. The vast majority of roller coasters are in fact non-spinning. Go ride one of those. Why do you want so badly to ride a spinning coaster if you don't want to spin? Are you seeing the layout of the track and thinking man that looks fun if only the cars didn't spin? I'm pretty sure there is just such a coaster around, probably even in the same park.

I love the simple design of wooden coaster structures. I actually think RMC coasters look very graceful and not ugly at all. I think the bridge on this one is overpowering and unnecessary to support the element. It looks they were actually attempting to make it look like the Sydney Harbor Bridge or something along those lines and on that it just fails. That's just my opinion. It's not wrong or right. It is what it is. I'm sure the ride will be amazing and it wouldn't stop me riding it. It just wouldn't make my top twenty list of great LOOKING woodies, that's all.
