  1. He probably does but no never thought about it. Don't see the point of this question. Probably wrong thread too.
  2. I can't see a project like this not being fully funded before they start and permitting issues not being resolved before it even begins. I've witnessed similar demo projects before and they usually seem more orderly. Remove the ride. Then the buildings and foundations. Then remove underground utilities. I've never seen a project jump around so much before. It makes no sense to remove a popular attraction in April before the summer rush if the aim isn't a 2018 opening. Sardonic mocking just shows a lack of the ability to actually engage in meaningful conversation.
  3. They are tearing up the old California Sports foundation now. Seriously, they hadn't done that yet? Why they heck did they spend a week digging up the ground around the old station just to suddenly stop and do something else? Seems like they are dragging this out on purpose.
  4. ^ I've seen the pictures and POV. Just because a ride has a theme doesn't make it "themed". There is no sawmill, no mock-ups of buildings. It just floats through the woods. That's it. Sorry that's not a theme.
  5. I don't get the thrill of a non-inverting loop. What's the point? Grated I've never been on one but it seems like a gimmick that just seems to slow down the ride. Is this an accurate observation? As for the one row of rear facing seats, it looks a if each train car has two rows of seats so why couldn't each car have two forward facing and two rear facing?
  6. Watch the Knott's coaster be a hyper super loop (if that's even practical and possible). You take that back!!!
  7. Yes, especially when the construction markers at CGA and the Q1 conference call only back up what was in that planning document. I do think that some things in that planning document were placeholders but they get into a lot of detail about the impulse coaster and hyper coaster specifically. You're also assuming that they bought a Skywrap even though they could have bought absolutely anything at IAPPA (ride or otherwise) and that they're planning on marketing it as a coaster. Yes, that's much crazier than reading a planning document that's being backed up by conference call comments and construction markers and taking it at face value. I wish I like this comment.
  8. ^ If any CF park not named Cedar Point is getting an innovative unique roller coaster before CP does then it's going to be Knott's. CGA is getting the renewed relationship. Knott's is getting the innovative new coaster. Which is why I don't think it's a dive coaster, a spinning launch coaster, a Skywarp, or anything but a T-Rex/Raptor. It is the only completely new concept to be revealed in the past decade. ^^ Maybe the name lapsed. How long do ride name trademarks last?
  9. ^^^ Wait. I'm think of Hang Ten. Never mind. There is still the rumor that CF trademarked The Ledge however. That sounds very dive coastery.
  10. When did he say this? Maybe he meant 2015 because that's when the RMC T-RExRaptor was unveiled. That would certainly qulaify as the innovative coaster type that Quimet referred to. If CF got a Skywarp then CF is dumber than a bag of rocks. Skywarp is not an innovative coaster. It's glorified Fireball. It will do nothing and add effing nothing for any CF park, even MiA. In the case of Knott's, would they seriously remove Boom for one those? Please God no! Skywarp is a dumb concept for a major park. It might be fun for a small but not a major one, and certainly not Cedar Fair's new defacto west coast flagship park. On the other hand I actually wouldn't mind the Mack launched spinning coaster at Knott's. It will fit nicely in the space and looks like a lot of fun, though I still think Knott's is getting something much, much more innovative than that, but if it came down to it I wouldn't be mad. If they get a Skywarp however I swear to God I will never return. Not effing ever. Hangtime is actually a surfing associated term. Would be a great name for a dive coaster located in the beach themed area of a theme park. Hmm where does CF have a beach themed area? Hmmmm.
  11. False. If I'm not mistaken it's the original themed log ride. The first to be built into a show building reminiscent of the old mill rides. Before that log flumes were glorified chute the chutes. If there was no Timber Mountain there mighy be no Splash Mountain. No Dudley Do Right Ripsaw Falls.
  12. Glenwood doesn't have a Webcam. He had to stalk in person.
  13. Timber Mountain Log Ride is the original and still the best. The theme fits too as hanging flumes were actually a real thing at one point and logs actually would go up conveyor belts and careen down slides. Splash Mountain is cheap ripoff! I still like it though. Second best.
  14. Does anybody know why the lights go off for a few hours on The Boardwalk every night?
  15. Even if they kept the tower and the K they would still remove the cabin itself. Is that still a bad idea? What about 225 foot pole with the K on top?
  16. You think they are digging down around it first? Yeah I'm starting to agree. I just didn't know what was taking so long. Why all the other digging that's been going on? What were they removing? And what the heck have they been doing underneath?
  17. Since it's the weekend and we won't see any work until Monday, let us speculate about the trench directly in front of the station foundation.
  18. Are looking for proof that the CIA is keeping us from knowing what is replacing Boom. I was looking more closely and it appears there were work lights underneath. Pretty sure they are installing stuff related to the new ride.
  19. Anybody notice something different in these two photos? Besides the time of day and the work equipment that is.
  20. I don't know it could ONLY be something that we have been talking for the past 2 and a half months. But I'm clueless. I mean what they meant by ground breaking. Are they saying they are breaking the ground up or that they had a "ground breaking" ceremony?
  21. I think it's impressive that Knott's finally overtook CP. In fact it was the number one non-Disney/Universal park in North America aside from Sea World Orlando and BG Tampa Bay (and both those parks were down). It says a lot and tells me that Knott's is very valuable to the company. No way they're going to waste that on anything less than a massive big time or innovative attraction. No more low capacity twenty second coasters. And if they are keeping Boom's station foundation then that means no dive coaster. I'm still putting my money on an RMC T-Rex, not a Raptor. Of course some naysayers could say that Knott's is year round and CP is seasonal but don't forget that Knott's does all of their maintenance and refurbs during the winter months because though it's open it's almost dead during that time. Everything was open when we went in December for my daughter's birthday with the grandparents and everything aside from GR was a station wait. We rode every coaster plus Supreme Scream, Log Ride and La Revolucion in the first hour and a half then settled down and let the kid enjoy herself. Apparently the week before half the rides were closed for work and then a couple weeks later the other half went down. I don't know if there is ever really a slow time at CP but I imagine it's always pretty packed.
