  1. Well, to be fair, and I can't believe I'm even saying this, we honestly don't know if the Raptor/Rex will suck or not. BTW, how does the size of the track point to Sky Rocket 1? That ride actually has two different track types.
  2. And GR went down for maintenence a couple months after it re-opened. New rides always have quirks to work out.
  3. I believe it's been closed for seasonal maintenance. This has already been addressed above.
  4. I looked it up. Cedar Fair has never worked with Premier, but several of the old Paramount parks did, most recently in 2006. I wonder if Ouimey considers the entire history of all CF parks to be CF history.
  5. ^ Sky Rocket at Kennywood is actually on a level patch of ground. So yes an exact copy could be plopped down anywhere.
  6. In fact, the longer Knott's waits to start construction the more I wonder if indeed they are getting the first Raptor. This was my original thought, but with the Boomerang site cleared and with the Raptor still in the testing stage I figured it had to be something else. Surely they'd want to get construction going right awsy and the Raptor was nowhere near ready. But now it's been almost a month since demo was complete and the Raptor has since finished testing and has been painted. I'm starting to think that just maybe the Raptor is going to Knott's and that begs the question, "what is CGA getting?" And I agree a Sky Rocket I mages more sense. But would that count as a renewed relationship?
  7. ^ You could be correct, but I just don't see it. What does the "1" stand for if "SR" stands for 'Single Rail'?
  8. You asked. I took it as needing to be explained. My bad. I can take things too literal sometimes. I meant no offense. I'm sorry.
  9. Do you think they will ever rename California Adventure itself? With Cars Land and A Bug's Land and now Marvel Land. Paradise Pier has already basically become Fantasy Land. It's not really California themed anymore.
  10. Are we talking about riding it non-stop for the rest of my life or it's the only coaster I'm ever allowed to ride ever again? If it's the latter then I have to say, at this point, Twisted Colossus. If it's the former, then Gold Rusher at SFMM, because it's fun but not going to get me sick riding it non-stop forever.
  11. First off, when a park decides to remove a ride, they list it on a used ride marketplace through a ride broker. Parks that are looking for used rides go to the marketplace. They don't go around offering to buy rides straight from other parks. Cedar Fair is not going to list Boomerang for sale until they were ready to remove it, and they weren't going to remove it until they were ready to replace it. Why? Because parks don't ever remove perfectly good rides, especially popular ones, unless they intend to replace it with something new (Six Flags' old ride rotation program not withstanding) and Boomerang was still in good shape and was still very popular. But it was getting expensive to operate. Also, Knott's has never removed a ride without replacing it. Ever. Invertigo and Log Jammer aren't even good examples for your argument. Invertigo kept breaking down and as a result was barely even operational. Cedar Fair had no intentions or plans to replace it because they were already planning to sell Great America itself. A broken ride doesn't look good to potential buyers so it was removed with the plan to repair the issues and move it to Dorney. By the time the deal to sell the park fell through Invertigo had already been removed. And finally to answer the last question. Log Jammer removal began in December 2011 and YOLO Coaster opened June 2013. A year and a half for removal and construction is not that long. So, yes Log Jammer was immediately replaced.
  12. That makes no sense. Why remove Boomerang, a fairly popular attraction prior to the busy Summer season if they aren't going to begin construction on its replacement until later on? No whatever they have planned they needed all the extra time. Right now they have been working inside The BOP Boardwalk building.
  13. No, Knott's needs no approval to go over any height.
  14. BTW I made a snide comment and it was a little rude, so to the OP I apologize.
  15. Oh gotcha. I think you may be correct,
  16. My guess is someone reminiscing about old Knott's, back before Cedar Fair destroyed it with all them rolly coasters, you know like Boomerang, Montezooma's Revenge, Jaguar! and Windjammer. Oh wait those were all put in by the Knott's family. My bad.
  17. Noticed these lines marked out on the ground in front of the lagoon. These weren't there before.
  18. Seeing as the layout is exactly the same, they just replaced the track, does this really count? Space Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain and The Matterhorn Bobsleds at Disneyland have all been completely re-tracked, but the layouts are exactly the same. They don't count as new coasters, do they?
  19. *edited CGA Stealth Invertigo Greased Lightnin' SFDK Roar Pandemonium SFMM Shockwave Flashback Psyclone Colossus Deja Vu ELITCH Cactus Coaster Flying Coaster KNOTTS Windjammer Boomerang Soap Box Racers GhostRider (re-tracked and re-profiled, so not the same ride) (I never rode Corkscrew at Knott's but I have ridden it at Silverwood)
  20. ^ No. It may be the highest, but not the tallest.
  21. Technically, that is an Intamin, not B&M. It looks like a B&M, it was designed by B&M, to me it's a B&M. If we want to be really technical, it was actually designed by B&M, built by Giovanola, and sold to Intamin.
