I rode it both before and after. I didn't hate it. In fact I was able to ride it a ton of times in one day (there wasn't ever any real line when I was there), the problem was none of the rest of my family was able to do the same. Probably because I was short when it was open I didn't get my head boxed by the restraints the same way older/taller riders did. I enjoyed it as a kid, but I completely understand why it doesn't exist. I'm probably more sad that it was part of what helped kill Arrow (of course there were many other things after Drachen Fire)

Marineland Discussion Thread
pryonisys replied to beatle11's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Day 4: "I have found the queue for Dragon Mountain. It's really dark in here. Did I go to the right place, is this park even still open? I haven't seen anyone for days." In all seriousness I have fond memories of Marineland from my childhood, but the only other parks I had visited at that point were Waldameer and Conneaut Lake Park -

I was actually logging on just to post that Ravine Flyer shot. Thanks for posting all those -
What parks are you visiting in 2020?
pryonisys replied to VF15's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
It's going to be a very light year for me in terms of amusement parks Definitely Waldameer Busch Gardens Williamsburg Maybe Idlewild (my 3 year old is really into Daniel Tiger currently so she'd love some of the attractions) Kennywood Unlikely but Hopeful Hershey Park Six Flags Georgia (if I have to go to Atlanta for a work trip) -
2020 Summer Roadtrip

7/21 should work with no issue for Waldameer, but Conneaut Lake will not be open, it's only open on Thursday - Sunday. Not a reason to not do your trip like that, but something to at least keep in mind (spend more time traveling/more time at Waldameer without feeling rushed to get to Conneaut Lake) -
of course they do, sky buckets are a great thing Even with two of the star attractions being closed for Holiday in the Park, I'm happy that I'll be able to make it there, I haven't ever been to a Christmas event at any park, so if nothing else I'll enjoy the rides and can do and I'm sure I'll love seeing the lights.

Because of a work trip I should have the opportunity to get to the park for the first time on 11/17. Hopefully most things are open, I'm hoping to get a few laps on El Toro if weather cooperates. For locals/those who make it to the park often, other than El Toro what would you recommend I make sure I get to if my time is limited there? How are Sundays in November? Are rides actually open or will this just be a waste of my time?

S&S is building something seriously weird

I know this is just saying the same thing as everyone else, but this looks cool, I hope that we see one of these one day in a park -

It will be a bit odd having two spinning coasters so close to eachother, but it will be nice to have this one as a step up to steel dragon for younger kids -
Tim Horton's is the greatest coffee shop to ever grace this earth. Wonderland has one too and it's also the most affordable dining establishment in any corporate park ever. God, I love them. I prefer Tim Horton's to Starbucks, but honestly don't really like either. I'd prefer to not go to a coffee shop at all, but if I do Tim Horton's in at the top of my list.

Glad to hear it's a step up from last year. I was there Saturday (before Fright Fest) and didn't wait longer than 5 minutes for anything, and it was a great day. My main question regarding Camp Scum Shine, do they still have the motion sensor windshield wiper corpse on the side of the camper? That was my favorite laugh from Fright Fest last year.

^ this is a great point Viper is still one of my top 3 remaining Arrow loopers, and has been giving great rides lately, but it's not really fair to compare the wear of Viper to the wear and tear on a ride like Vortex at KI. I would be curious to see how many more times Vortex ran this year as opposed to Viper, I'm sure it's probably at least 2-3 times more.
