Waldameer Discussion Thread

He'll be missed in this area, it's going to be very strange to not see him driving around on the golf cart when I'm at the park, he was always around and was a a very visible owner -
It would be great if they did a lot of the ride, but I'm really just expecting that turn around... maybe I'll get back up there in 2024 to check it out again, I did like the improvement that it had last year. Small steps in the right direction, but I would love them to take a larger leap for the park (at some point)

I feel like Whipeout has been having problems for years now -

It has been expected for a long time. It makes me wonder how different the park is going to look in the next 10 or so years, that's a pretty large addition of land, but they'd need to make some large changes in the park to make it accessible. -

Something like a Raptor would be great for the park, but I expect it to be something much smaller. I look forward to whatever they do though. -

Looks like I pretty much had the location right. It's all going to be really crammed in there, I'm kind of looking forward to how it all looks when it's in place -

I didn't realize that the volcano remnants were gone, thanks for the heads up. A Sky Roller would seem to fit based on the tease -

Whatever it's going to be it will most likely be in the old volcano plot. Retheme the volcano rock work to some sort of crater and that could work with the alien theme. I'm trying to think of what kind of flat is at Canada's Wonderland that it could be, otherwise I think they may have said North America -
Back on January 15th the Conneaut Lake Historical Society posted this on their facebook page (Link for anyone who is interested in looking - https://www.facebook.com/ConneautLakeAreaHistoricalSociety/photos/a.1522566177863979/4650707001716532/ - the train still has snow in the seats when it made it into the building it seems )

Waldameer could have gotten in on it, they should have named their new water coaster Ravine Flyer's Vengeance (I mean they already have RFII and RFIII) -

Themed, protected, and air conditions building queue along with a name change. You'll now be launching into space on LSMs with new generation Intamin trains and coming back in Alaska (for some reason) Disaster Transport 2.0 I'm sure the park would love to brand the ride to a disaster... that would go over great -

Now let the speculation continue as to what that actually means. I think now a changed launch system (even though that's not the thing that closed the ride this time) is probably coming. We'll see what else happens... maybe more track added so the ride does something more than just up and down? Who knows... -

using the plans from the article here's the best approximate location i can do for the slide, it's going to be pretty tightly interwoven with existing structures -

RocketBlast is confirmed (although the news page didn't label the one picture of the slide stairs correctly) https://www.goerie.com/story/news/local/2022/08/31/waldameer-park-water-world-erie-pa-new-attraction-slide/65413942007/ -

I know it's unlikely but it would be funny if they just randomly put a marker in the incorrect location to mess with people -

I rode the train with my family tonight to find the marker and I missed it the first time past because it's nowhere near where I expected. I guess when they said requiring an exact fit they weren't kidding. This satellite image is out of date too, it's missing the bowl slide that's on the tower just north of the marker. Here's a different approximate angle -

I saw that the other day. I'm planning on going to the park to get my 2023 pass tonight. I'm sure my kids would be happy to ride the train, so I may go find out where the marker is for my own personal entertainment They were indicating back in May that the next 2 years at least are water park related, so the location you pointed out makes sense -
Finally got on Predator with the Titan Track and here are my thoughts - The Good: The Titan Track feels great, it's incredibly smooth and maintains/builds speed better than pretty much all points on the ride The Bad: Coming back out of the Titan Track you are immediately reminded how rough the rest of the coaster is, the speed that you build/maintain through the death turn (that you previously lost due to the track slowing you down) makes the next bit of track feel like getting in a bit of a car accident. Final thoughts: The Titan Track is a huge success and improvement for that portion of the ride, I'd like to see a whole coaster done with Titan Track, but unfortunately with only a few hundred feet on the retracking done on Predator I don't really think it helps the whole experience (even thought it does massively help the one section of track). If Six Flags wanted to keep Predator's profiling mainly the same, but transitioned the whole ride to Titan Track I would not be upset about that at all.

I don't know the truth about this, but I heard something awhile back about them desiring to have a sign in that location, but if they took the current one down there would be some impediment in putting up a new one in the future, so they left the blank sign as a kind of placeholder. This was only a rumor that I heard so I can not guarantee that it is true.
