That is exactly what I hope, a refresh would help a lot. Mind Eraser absolutely needed it worse, but Ride of Steel is right there too now. If they're not going to bring back the Superman theme I'd be fine if they even changed the color scheme, it just needs to be well taken care of. Unfortunately I don't think the park has any interest in running 2 trains on anything and that kind of boggles the mind.

Looks like a great addition to replace some old slides. I'll miss the old ones, but that's just because I grew up with them. I can completely acknowledge that they never have lines anymore (especially the old body slides), so this will be a great update. -
Went to Darien Lake for opening today, I was on the first public train out for Mind Eraser, it's very rideable now, in fact I got right back on. It felt very smooth, there are still some goofy transitions, but it was fun and one of the smoothest rides in the park now. I was bugging a supervisor at Ride of Steel about getting the trains from SFA and he said there's a new train coming this summer (which would be great) MotoCoaster was down (what's new) Predator has a new purple train, based on what I heart it's a brand new train for this year, not a refurbishment of some other train. The blue train was on the transfer track. I didn't ride Predator because it wasn't open by the time I left.

I enjoy camping, but if I'm going camping to enjoy camping I want to be in the woods, not in a field next to an amusement park, but that's just me. Maybe they hope people from a distance will think it's close enough to Niagara Falls to make it worth a stay. I thought that deal was odd when I saw it too.

Darien Lake indicated that they would do "a track profile make - over", but when I was there last year I didn't see any track come off or any new pieces come in, just a lot of power-washing and painting (there may be a lot more than what I saw however). If I had to guess I'd assume it's just repair, painting and new trains. I'll probably be there early in the season and can report if it's any better, it previously tracked horribly.

I live in Erie, it's nuts here currently. I do always enjoy seeing Waldameer post pictures when we get a storm like this though. -

Great addition and a new entry for Waterworld will be a huge improvement in the flow of the park -

The Paratrooper news makes me wonder if they are going to change the entry into Water World, that's the first think I could think of when I heard they were moving that ride. It will be interesting to see what they do there. -
I was just at the park this past week for 2 days, have the operations always been this awful? I haven't been for about 10 years, but I swear I remember the ride ops being pretty good and caring about doing a good job back then, it feels like everyone is either moving in slow motion or checking their phone every dispatch. Am I just getting old and crotchety?

I didn't know this was a thing Zamperla had either. Waldameer likes working with Zamperla it seems, this would be a nice addition/upgrade -

Those are actually the two rides that I was thinking made the most sense in the Spider plot. I'm glad that Waldameer wants to stay locally owned. I agree that it does seem to be in good hands. I was actually walking around by the Waldameer parking lot, to the West of the park, the other day and walked around where the trailer park land is. I don't think I realized how much extra space this will give the park, it will be pretty substantial. No clue what the plans will be, but there's a bit more room than I expected from looking at Google Maps. -

I can't think of the last time I rode spider. I'm not surprised they'd remove it, but I'd almost expect Wipeout to be removed first, it seems to give them issues every year (but they have done a lot of repair work on it lately -
I'm sure someone can and will correct me, but my understanding is that they at least have parts for 3 trains for Viper, originally had 3 trains for Tantrum, and 2 for Predator, but they've just used all of them for parts. As someone who has never done maintenance on a coaster train I don't understand why they can't get 2 trains running on Viper and Tantrum (last time I was at the park Tantrum was running 2). I'm sure the other trains have been parted out pretty extensively though and I'm sure it would take a lot of work to get the other trains running, but we can wish.
