  1. It seems like rotors are disappearing. I haven't seen a permanent one for quite some time, but I do see the Gravatron's at fairs still
  2. Maybe heading out for a couple of hours tomorrow afternoon. I curious to see it this early in the season as I usually don't make it out until the late summer/fall. It would be nice if they got the music going, that is a pretty big thing when it comes to atmosphere/just avoiding strange silent spaces. I'm not expecting a ton because I'm not crazy, but I look forward to riding a few roller coasters.
  3. Is the tunnel actually going to be fully covered now! I'm glad to see them giving this ride some TLC and I look forward to making it out there this summer for a few rides.
  4. The worst part about these pictures has nothing to do with the park, I just want there to be leafs on the trees. I'm ready for it to look and feel like it's spring (it looks just about the same where I live too currently)
  5. Not necessarily I found dominator to be considerably rough for a B&M as it felt like my head was a ping pong ball between the shoulder harness. Through some of the turns, it slapped my ears silly . Though it's not unbearable or headache inducing, its more annoying than anything else. It kinda took away from the ride for me as it had a really nice layout. Dominator was better when it was over a lake (although I'm very glad the ride still actually has a home somewhere instead of the scrapheap)
  6. ^ I would be surprised if it was done that quickly, but no one really knows what is done already and what is being reused from twister. Six Flags as a corporation does have plenty of experience with putting these things up. It would be a nice surprise for it to be up so quickly for Darien Lake's first season back as a Six Flags
  7. I hope I've been respectful about my opinion. Of course it isn't going to change (except maybe getting even more expensive) Cedar Point is a business and Fast lane is a money maker for the park so why should they change it? This is pretty much the point I was trying to make, just put much better than my point. Maybe the solution to my gripe (which they also will never do) is just cap the fast lane at a much lower number to keep all the lines moving faster. I don't see that happening though.
  8. ^ haha, no i understand that not all seats are created equal, but the person who pays for a sideline seat does not prevent the person farther away with a less expensive seat from seeing the game (I'm a Bills fan, you can still see the game great from the 300 level section) Like I said just my opinion and I'm not against anyone who feels different I'm just being grumpy I think haha
  9. Thank you for convincing me never to eat Takis. Yesterday was the first time that I'd ever seen the word Takis when a Six Flags park was not being referenced... I still don't know what they are, nor do I have any real interest in finding out
  10. Can I ask what you don't like about Cedar Fair's system? I don't have a ton of experience with line skip systems at different parks as I don't get to nearly as many parks as many of you do, but I like Cedar Fair's system. You're dumped in with everyone else before boarding so you don't have to steal someone's seat on the next train or have your seat stolen on the next train. I have had line skip passes in my pocket at my home six flags that i've just not used because I would rather wait an extra 10 or 15 minutes than feel like an A$$. There's no signing in for your next ride or anything, just go in the dedicated entrance and then queue in the station or get bundled into the line with everyone else. Wish it was that way everywhere. Here is the basic difference between the Sig Flags Flash Pass vs the Cedar Fair Fast Lane Plus Fast Lane Plus: Concept: Wait less (skip the line) Unlimited Rides on everything Wait depends on ride, normally about 20% of normal wait Flash Pass: Concept: Spend your wait time elsewhere Only one ride on select attractions (Other parks mainly have a much more restricted policy as to how many times you can use your "fast lane" style pass) My issue with fast pass isn't that you can purchase a premium experience, it's that the premium experience directly effects the non premium visitors This won't prevent me from visiting of course, it's just my minor annoyance that came out today as Cedar Point announced their plan to take your $200 season pass and encourage you to pay $800+ more for unlimited line skipping.
  11. True but my preference would be to go to a stadium where there aren't obstructed seats at all (continuing the sporting event example) Like I said, no complaint to those who buy it, I just wish Cedar Fair would change how they run their system. I know however since they've done it like this it would be very difficult to do it any other way (not that they would actually want to).
  12. I know it's beating a dead horse by this point, but I really hate Cedar Fair's fast lane system. More power to them for having it in place, but it makes the visit significantly worse for those who didn't purchase an add on to their ticket. It would be like buying a ticket to a sporting or theater event that has an obstructed view and being told you could have a better view if you just purchase this add on to your ticket that costs more than your initial ticket did. You're still kind of having the experience, just something is there interfering with you fully enjoying the experience. I know there are Fast Lane users here and I've got nothing against you, the system exists, and if you're willing to use it you should. My issue is just the way that it is implemented by Cedar Fair ::End Rant::
  13. Looks like it will head to Dorney too
  14. I almost feel like the idea of the spinning coaster makes sense. I would really like the idea of the indoor coaster but it would need to have very nice exterior aesthetics to fit into a park like Dollywood
  15. I like the park and will be there plenty this summer, I'm happy that my 3 year old will get to go and ride some rides with me there. This thread is just funny to me and I always find it amusing that it's one of the most active on this site even when there is no real news.
  16. The thing that amazes me is that this thread has more pages than: Knoebels Busch Gardens Tampa Silver Dollar City Kennywood Six Flags Fiesta Texas and plenty of other parks that Seem like they should have more posts than Darien Lake (I say while contributing to the post list) (Especially when 50% of the posts here are "where are our updates" and another 25% are "CUDA FALLS!!!!1!")
  17. Haha, true. Who knows... maybe this season people will just post pictures and be happy that there is a park of that size in that location. (wishful thinking)
  18. I don't see why having a new communications rep has all that much to do with minimal social media. If you get hired as a communications contact for a company IF it is part of your job to tweet and put out pictures on instagram constantly the only thing you'd need is access to the password. This seems more like how the company wants to run it (as said above) as opposed to someone having to learn how to log into the social media accounts. Reading these last few pages makes me very happy that the offseason is almost over for all the parks so we can talk about something other than "why aren't they posting more updates"
  19. This is where my question comes in: Why didn’t they start building it yet? If they did, it could be ready to roll by opening weekend. The weather is nice enough to do so now, so just why not? Six Flags doesn't seem to care about having rides open by opening weekend. Their "goal" seems to be around Memorial Day. Any construction they would have done now would be more of preparation for the new ride like concrete and electrical work (if they have anything done), not very exciting stuff for anyone except for enthusiasts or crazy people. I have no proof, but I'd imagine Six Flags (as a whole corporation) does this because you get people in the gate for opening because everyone is excited about parks opening back up for the season, then bring people back a little later for the new ride.
  20. When reading this thread that is the gif that kept going through my head over and over. I'm glad someone finally posted it
  21. What little we can see so far looks fantastic. I look forward to this ride
  22. It's on the internet, it must be true!
  23. well... that would make sense... for some reason in my mind parking was an immovable object. Don't know where my brain was there.
  24. That Lightning Racer picture is great. Southern PA is getting hit way harder than North West PA, we just got a few flakes today, there is probably very little snow on Ravine Flyer
