  1. Firechaser Express the last week of March (last train of the day, it was a walk-on after being a 90 minute wait most of the day)
  2. If I did I would probably go every night after training, I don't have the pass though, so I guess I will just have to wait till next time I'm in Atlanta
  3. I just got temporarily excited that I may have a chance to visit this park (just found out work is sending me to Atlanta for training in May, but checked the hours and the days I'll be in the area the park closes at 7 (and where I'll be doing training is on the other side of the city so it would take until almost 6 to get to the park). Sad times. Maybe some other time in the eventual future.
  4. Making my first trip to Dollywood this upcoming week (probably Tuesday)
  5. Go during the week and you should be fine.. for example this past Monday, walk on for everything!! Beautiful day to. It's to early in the season for school trips. Dollywood missed the two largest spring breaks in the area (the week before the opened).. Dollywoods local school system isn't on break until the first week in April So signs point in your favor! Sent from my MHA-L29 using Tapatalk Thank you that answers my question perfectly. Spring breaks were the things I was most concerned with. Now I'm just praying for good weather, but pretty much everything has to be better then Erie PA this year. We have almost hit 200 inches of snow this season.
  6. I'm going to be "that guy" currently and ask the overall unknowable question. Would anyone be willing to hazard a guess as to how insanely busy the park is going to be next week? I have a family vacation Sunday to Saturday in Pigeon Forge (first time that we will ever be in the area, so it would be my first time at Dollywood). Hoping to get my daughter to enjoy some of the kiddy rides and ride some fun coasters myself. Sorry, I hate it when people ask this question because no one can ever really know, yet I'm still doing it.
  7. Maybe possibly heading to Dollywood at the end of this month. I've never been there but there's a family gathering/vacation that we're taking the week before Easter in Tenn (like 15 minutes from the park). Out of curiosity how is the park for a younger kid. Trying to get my wife and 2 year old daughter to enjoy amusement parks also. Main thing I'm hoping is that Lightning Rod will be open.
  8. Well that's not what I expected for the new trains, I was expecting something more Vekomaish. I'll be interested to hear how they are.
  9. The ride will be called Chaos and will be located behind the train station in between the two tracks. Well ok then. I saw the name but didn't know the location, thanks. That will be interesting to have it up there. It's still strange to me how much they're developing that section of the park, but it's great to see. Thanks for the additional info
  10. Cool thing that I saw on the ACE twitter account last night. Looks like Waldameer will be getting a Zamperla Mini Discovery 360 in 2019. It should be interesting as it may be the most thrilling flat ride there (that is all subjective though). No clue where they will fit it but they always seem to fit things in. It's nice to see additions to the dry side along with all the great additions to Water World that have been going on recently.
  11. Wohoo, look at that dirt move. Any progress working on it is good, but I honestly don't think it's going to take all that long to put the coaster together once they actually start building it, it's not like it's a hyper coaster or anything. (Disclaimer: I say all this with no working knowledge of how difficult it is to put together a real roller coaster)
  12. I liked Geauga Lake back in the day, but it is done... let it go... I hope people realize gofundme isn't like kickstarter (if memory serves correctly) kickstarter, I believe, returns money for unfunded projects, gofundme is a hole that people throw their money into sometimes for projects like this that will never happen.
  13. As an Erie native I think I'm obligated to agree
  14. I have no real thoughts regarding it either way. I like flumes but have no real attachment to TR. I just think most people hate change and are looking for excuses to complain.
  15. I've had stand-up coasters that I don't mind but Vortex was terrible for me. It really is a situation where you have to go on the per-coaster basis. If it's ok for someone else that's cool, just didn't work for me.
  16. If they could bring that theoretical thing just a tiny bit further East on I-90 to Erie (once again in theory) that would be wonderful
  17. This has been my thought also. I also would imagine that they won't post any destruction pics of TR based on how much everyone seemed to freak out regarding it's removal.
  18. Fact. Those things are EVERYWHERE, but hey they help keep the rodent population down
  19. I remember camping there back in the early days of raptor with my family (we had a pop-up camper). Eventually I didn't want to be in the camper with my family and set up my own tent whenever we went camping. I completely get that it's Cedar Point's rule, and they are entirely within their rights to do it of course, I just don't really care to stay in a hotel and don't want to get an RV, but I'm only 2 or so hours away anyway, so it really isn't a big deal overall. I suppose if not allowing tent camping is my biggest complaint about Cedar Point they're doing pretty well.
  20. Am I the only one a bit sad that tent camping is not allowed?
  21. 1. What is the best park visit you had in 2017? Carowinds (even on 1.5 hours of sleep) 2. Have you ever traveled to a park with a specific ride in mind only for it to be closed all day? Thankfully no 3. GCI or Gravity Group? Pick one. Like both but because of my love for Ravine Flyer I have to pick Gravity Group 4. How many different parks did you visit in 2017? 3 5. How many times did you visit your home park in 2017? I think 5 or 6 (lunch time visit to Waldameer, ride Ravine Flyer, head back to work) 6. What was the first RMC you rode? .... sadly I still have not ridden an RMC 7. Best view from the top of a lift? Ravine Flyer II (may not be super tall, but the view of Presque Isle is fantastic) 8. What new-for-2018 roller coaster are you most anticipating? Pick one. Probably Steel Vengeance even though I probably won't get there till 2019 9. RMC or Intamin? You can only choose one. Haven't ridden an RMC yet so I have to say Intamin (and I mean come on, Sky Rush) 10. What was your favorite new-to-you ride of 2017? Sky Rush (followed shortly by Fury 325) 11. Money is no object. You can travel to any park in the world right now by snapping your fingers. Where are you going? Being winter I'd have to say somewhere warmer/open that I've never been. How about Six Flags Magic Mountain? 12. Have you ever made out with someone in a queue line? No 13. What is the last coaster that changed your top 10? Fury 325 made it into my top 10 (#2) this fall 14. Disney or Universal? Disney 15. When is the last time you witnessed someone puke at a park? It's been at least 15 years 16. How many new credits did you pick up in 2017? If you don't count, take your best guess... 12 17. You're at Magic Mountain. You have a one hour ERT session on ONE coaster of your choice. You choose... Twisted Colossus (so I could quit saying I've never been on an RMC) 18. Name a coaster or ride that you passionately dislike. Vortex at Carowinds... the headbanging... 19. What is the most amount of money you've spent on a Fast Pass? $0 20. Skyscreamers or Windseekers? Windseekers 21. What is your most recent B&M credit? Either Fury 325 or Afterburn 22. Best adult beverage at a theme park? (under 21: whats your favorite beverage you can only get at a park?) I am notoriously cheep when it comes to food and beverages at theme parks, but I had a flight of beer and BGW that was really good a few years back during the food and wine festival 23. Most irritating coaster nickname/abbreviation? I was going to say Nessy, but I completely forgot about SteVen. SteVen is a horrible abbreviation 24. Butterbeer or Dole Whip? I've actually never had either (once again I'm pretty cheep when it comes to food and beverage) 25. Favorite steel coaster *under* 100 feet? Hydra 26. What's the best bathroom at your home park? (At Waldameer) Excluding the newer ones in Water World - the One by the bumper cars I believe 27. Nighttime ERT on Lightning Rod or all-you-can-eat Cinnamon Bread? You can only choose one. Depends is Lightning Rod going to break? Probably Lightning Rod, but you tempt with the the Cinnamon Bread, I have heard such good things 28. If it were in your power, what coaster would you relocate to Knoebels? Blue Streak from Conneaut Lake Park It's probably the only thing keeping that park open and I'm sure Knobels would be able to properly repair it 29. What is the last thing you remember eating in a theme park? I had a burger at Carowinds 30. Your favorite coaster got equipped with on board audio x Spotify. What's your hype track? Am I old or out of touch, because I have no clue what this means? 31. Name the most disappointing ride you took in 2017. Nighthawk... freaking Nighthawk. Wait in line for over an hour it has a temporary breakdown as soon as I made it in the station and the ride was just annoying 32. Airtime hill or Zero G Roll? Airtime please 33. What is your favorite coaster/ride built before 1970? Blue Streak at Conneaut Lake Park 34. What's worse - splashed by malaria lake flume water or dripped on by chain lift grease? Chain lift grease 35. Name an Intamin coaster on your bucketlist! Intimidator 305 36. You just won a 3 day trip with hotel and airfare included. The catch is you have to choose between Disneyworld or Cedar Point. Which do you choose and why? Disney World. Cedar Point is only a 2 hour or so drive, Disney is more expensive and something that's harder for me to get to 37. Floater or Ejector? Why can't I have a mix? I prefer ejector, but if only one forever I'd take floater. I could probably do floater airtime as I continue to get older for longer 38. What was your worst park experience of 2017? No one's fault but Hershey was over 100 degrees when I was there in June. I still had fun, but it was stupidly hot. 39. Name your favorite coaster under 41 feet tall. Comet at Waldameer 40. End your post with an aerial shot of one of your top 5 coasters.
  22. not much of a drinker personally, but man do I agree haha
  23. Seems to work worlds better then it did earlier this month ( ihadn't been on since the first day) nice to see some of the additional parks on there too. Thank you guys this looks to be a very nice poll
  24. This can't possibly be true... No Eagles fan drinks just "a beer" (in all fairness I'm a Bills fan and no Bills fan drinks just A beer either)
