  1. You may want to just do the park in order (to the right/counter-clockwise). The 3 B&Ms are people eaters so their lines won't be too crazy compared to the others. I would do: 1. Cheetah Hunt (EVERYONE still seems to go here first. So riding it first is best as it's line gets longer throughout the day) 2. Cobra's Curse (Line will be longer than Montu most likely and has a tendency to have TD so ride when you get to it) 3. Montu Go through Edge Of Africa to get to Nairobi to avoid backtracking getting to Pantopia. >>>Do Falcon's Fury if you like drop towers....it's THE BEST 4. Scorpion (It has 1 train operation...line will move slow even on slow days) 5. Sand Serpent (If it's reopened by then/no reopen date known. VERY LOW CAPACITY) 6. Kumba 7. SheiKra 8. Air Grover. Unless you are in a hurry you should have time to go back and re-ride any favorites. I usually finish the day off at Montu or Cheetah Hunt before leaving the park. If you've never been to the park, this is what I would suggest. Whatever you decide on however, be sure to ride Intimidator before Fury 325...you'll thank me and anyone else who suggests it. Generally the dry park isn't as crowded as the water park either (except on Saturdays & holidays). 1. Nighthawk (Keep it first as the lines even on a slow day are horrid) 2. Lucy's Crabbie Cabbie 3. Woodstock Express 4. Flying Ace Aerial Chase 5. Flying Cobras (Low Capacity) 6. Ricochet (Extremely Low Capacity) 7. Carolina Goldrusher 8. Afterburn (Will likely not have a huge line...people eater so no need to rush to it) 9. Intimidator 10. Vortex 11. Carolina Cylcone 12. Hurler 13. Fury 325 OR You can wait and do the kiddie rides AFTER Afterburn depending on when/where you plan to have lunch or crowds. I honestly wouldn't change a thing other than be sure ride some of the other great rides, take in the scenery and get some Cinnamon Bread
  2. The last day to see Iceploration is this Sunday, April 23rd.
  3. I've been meaning to take a day trip to Amelia Island/Fernandina Beach. I usually end up going to St. Augustine and the beaches south of there to explore. I will make an effort to visit soon....it's only and hour and a half (if that) from me.
  4. +3 that are no more or SBNO: Thunder Road Hurler (KD) Gwazi I have some traveling to do...
  5. Magic Kingdom actually has it now where you go through security before boarding the monorails or boats...just not the buses. I'm sure that's helping at least in perception that people riding the monorail are getting in faster. Otherwise, it looks like most corporate parks are installing them now. They basically give an overwhelming sense of security to those who are worriers. If someone wants to get in and so something, they will. At least the parks are covering themselves should something happen...while making us all wait more and more...
  6. I was in awe my first visit to BGW in June of 1997, especially when I came upon Alpengeist's Immelmann. The only park I had ever been to before then was Carowinds. Before riding this beast, the tallest coaster I had ridden was Carolina Cyclone....well I think I rode LNM first earlier..but still a big jump. This was my first Invert and what an invert to start off my love of them. While I've ridden better since, it's still in my top 10 (as noted below).
  7. Eh....I'm not feeling how that looks...as much as I hate the VR being added. I'll never put it on when I ride. I'm sure for every one of us that don't care for this being added, there are several others who will ride it just for this. To each their own I guess. Hopefully they'll have everything worked out by the time I go back in September with wait times and possible technical issues. I will say the entry area and queue definitely need a refreshing. It would be great if they could enclose it with AC in the process.
  8. Supports for Rollin' Thunder at OWA have begun to arrive. They are now claiming a mid-Summer 2017 opening. Pic posted on their FB page: https://www.facebook.com/VisitOWA/
  9. The metal detectors at the FL parks are a recent implementation (within the last couple years). They started out with temporary detectors during the holidays and then put in more permanent ones in the last year. The Disney & Universal parks have them as well. They may just not feel the need (as of yet) to put them in the VA parks. IMO they just give an overwhelming sense of security to the GP.
  10. ^^ In addition to ^, Wouldn't you rather go up a slow lift hill instead of sitting on a brake run waiting for a train to dispatch? I know I would.
  11. Hurler needed it...it was cheaper...tax breaks for using existing structures...environmentally more friendly (less trees likely removed)... maybe they just felt like it...
  12. 107 miles divided by the speed you plan on travelling. Of course then there is traffic... It's pretty much anywhere from 90 minutes to 2 hours depending on the many variables that may come up along the way and which route you take.
  13. Make that three, SeaWorld San Diego's Journey to Atlantis. That's not in Florida...
  14. Goliath @ SFOG. 3 hour wait in early May of 2008...never again will I go to that park on a Saturday....NEVER.
  15. I'm ready to ride!!! This gives me an excuse to go to the Kissimmee park now. I was just at the Orlando park this past Saturday and would have loved for it to have been open so I could get my fill. Good things come to those who wait I guess.
  16. I can't wait to finally visit this park. It's in the plans for next year.
  17. I really enjoyed browsing through those booths when I was there a few years ago. Hopefully they will bring them back in the future.
  18. It's spring break for many of the local schools....then there's this new coaster too bringing in even more people.
  19. ^Tempesto @ BGW also has a 54" height restriction. Maybe it has to do with the 3-car trains? SWP&E playing it safe?
  20. ^^Also if you decide on a chain place, there is a TGI Fridays, Buffalo Wild Wings and a place called Hickory Tavern (Sports bar with pub grub) on S. Tryon St @ Steel Creek Rd south of the place listed above. Those seem to be the closest places to the park. If all else fails, you can just get some liquor next door to your hotel at Frugal MacDoogals. It's a huge liquor store.
  21. ^Supposedly the park closed for renovations and has not yet reopened.
  22. I want to know what world a SRII is family oriented....with a 54" height requirement...js
