What Was The Last Coaster You Rode?
bgtlover replied to SharkTums's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I missed getting that credit when I visited in March. It wasn't running while I was there. I have the visit all year ticket so I'll be back in a few months. -
Coasterstock 2015 at Kings Island!

Sounds like the one at the Sunset Rd Exit (exit 16a). I used to manage the Taco Bell at that exit...about 20 years ago...lol I know that one. It's on the southside of Charlotte off Westinghouse Blvd. The quarry is across the street. -

When I went to Kings Island (July 2014 and June 2016) we stayed at the Microtel Inn just down the road. It was around $84 per night for the three of us. It was a great deal and just minutes away from the park, so close in fact you could see it from your room if you were lucky! Also, the rooms were clean and there were no bugs. I would consider staying at the Microtel Inn as I enjoyed staying there during both of my visits to Kings Island. I stayed here in June 2015 and it was a great stay. You can't beat the location relative to KI for the price and the room I got was clean and nicer than any other room I had on that trip (although there wasn't much competition from Motel 6 and Econolodge ). Thanks. I was looking at that Microtel. I will keep these recommendations in mind when it comes time to book. I'm also looking at the Baymont Inn and Super 8 by there as well. Usually if I'm not familiar with an area and they have an Extended Stay America, I'll stay there. I know there are some about 10 miles away which isn't bad. I think however it will be nice to not have to drive more than we have to after driving from N Florida to Carowinds to CP to KI & then back home (we may also do Kentucky Kingdom if it's in our budget/have time). -

1: Mako 2: Apollo's Chariot 3: Intimidator 4: Goliath (SFOG) If you want to include Fury 325 that would be #1, but I count it as giga. I really need to add some more...hopefully next year I'll have a couple more with CP & KI on my itinerary. -

I'm hoping to (finally) make my first trip to KI (also Cedar Point..but have that covered) next Summer..late June. Can anyone suggest some good budget-friendly hotels/motels near the park. I've seen some looking on Google, but figured I'd ask the experts and/or locals on this site. Basically just need a place to lay our heads so nothing too fancy. As long as the place is safe, clean, bug-free and within 15-20 minutes from the park I'm good. -

^LOL to all the people saying it needs a shoulder harness because they got lifted out of their seat too much. If they think that then they not ever need set foot on another ride...EVER. -

You will likely not need a Fast Lane pass at all. I would suggest waiting until you arrive at the park to measure the crowds before deciding on if it's worth the extra cost of buying it. The dry side of the park is very manageable on weekdays as the majority of people tend to flock to the water park. You should be able to get plenty of re-rides on those you selected. Without Fast Lane I would suggest riding Nighthawk first if you're going at opening as it's operations are quite slow. -
There is no listing for the tower (K on Sky Cabin) on any registers I can find declaring it a historical landmark. The only source I found (so far) that calls it an historic landmark is theme park insider (which I will not post links to). What I have found is that it was likely a rumor due to the change of Windseeker's location. If I'm wrong please provide a credible source, otherwise it's just a rumor.

My guess is that it's easier to move track pieces out of the park when it's closed due to the location. It may also be a safely issue. I'm sure there is plenty going on that can't be seen from the webcam...especially from the angle we see it from. There may be more areas that are closed off when they actually start building whatever is coming. For now they have minimized the number of attractions that aren't open at this stage.
