You could ride everything in a day without Fastlane, but it would definitely be beneficial for re-rides. Do you have a Cedar Fair Platinum Pass (I know you're closer to Cedar Point so I assume you might)? Are you planning to get there at opening? I don't have a CF Platinum Pass (I'll likely get one for next year; I just moved down to the Ann Arbor area three weeks ago). Also I would plan on getting there near opening or close to it. If it's anything like that Sunday morning I experienced at Cedar Point last year (10 rides in less than three hours), I would be in good shape without FL.

Kind of thinking about making a run down to Kings Island on Sunday for the day (I live about 3.5 hours away). If I go, would I need Fast Lane (or Fast Lane Plus)? I've never been to KI before. Checked the weather and it's supposed to be around 90 degrees but dry.

If this is the real reason, I'm surprised Dollywood hasn't shortened the trains. How long are the trains?

Holy crap. Bar or package store? Thats from the supermarket shelf. In a bar it would be more expensive. A beer in a bar in Norway normally ranges from $7-12, depending on what type of beer. I haven't seen Founders in any of the bars here, but I would guess around $8-$9 for a bottle if that were the case. Of course you're standard draft lager/pilsner is not quite as expensive in the stores. For example a 0,5 liter can of beer from Hansa (one of the largest breweries in Norway) is currently at $3,8 in the shelf. But compared to other countries I guess it's still pretty damn expensive. Ouch. $3.80 would get you a 6 pack of the cheap stuff here. Not that it would be worth it, but still.... Last beer I had was Yuengling. We don't have it at home, so even though it's not super great, it's still kind of a thing when traveling east of the Mississippi. Speaking of cheap stuff, I went to my local Kroger today and I saw that a 30 pack of Hamm's was $11.99 (!!!). Even cheaper than Natty Light or the Beast

Cedar Fair would have made Magic Mountain the west coast flagship of their chain. What if Astroworld wasn't shut down by Six Flags (possibly due to Katrina)?

Kentucky Kingdom... Is that you?? I'm surprised Lightning Rod and Lightning Run don't get confused more often, considering they're somewhat close geographically. I have an odd theory with the design of Lightning Rod's launch hill: I feel it was designed the way it was that if it had lots of problems, Dollywood and RMC could replace the launch with a chain lift over an offseason (while eliminating the short drop at the top of the first hill).

I haven't been to Michigan's Adventure in a few years despite me living about an hour from it for years!

They're both infamous for being subpar parks (and I think they both have SLCs)! Alton Towers and Heide Park

KK/BB is likely an easily doable weekend trip from the Detroit area. Maybe even KK/BB/HW in one weekend (if you skip the water parks)!
