I generally do ok with my ex's. Although I haven't broken up with anyone in quite a few years - usually my partners and I would fizzle out or stop "dating" earlier rather than later. If things started going downhill - we would usually just let it go rather than try to stay togeher (what I call Flogging a dead horse.) I don't really "hang out" with my exes. If I see them around - fine, but I don't go out of my way to hang out with them. david

Since WHAM wasn't a choice I went with the Clash. I was a big fan back in the day, but never got a chance to see them live! I also have to add Sisters of Mercy, becasue back in my Goth/Deathrock days I would have killed to see them live. david

If I am not mistaken - the drink is called a "Flaming Doctor Pepper." I remember them fondly from college and when I was a bartender. david

I love sushi! My favorite rolls are the Shrimp Tempura roll and the California roll. The only non-roll sushi that I don't care for is octopus because it is just a little too chewey for me. My favorite places: Nikimotos in Atlanta Seasons in Savannah Sushi Zen in Savannah david

I curl up in my big squashy armchair and read a book. Sometimes watch television (history channel/discovery channel) or just go museum hopping with some friends (these are all things I do if it is raining on my day off, otherwise I go to work).

I used to work 1/2 mile from home and could easily walk. Now I have to drive about 15 - 20 minutes each way. I remember when I lived just north of Atlanta, it would take me 45 minutes to drive 7 miles (from East Cobb to Sandy Springs for you Atlanta People.) david

I started to exercise about the same time that I quit drinking. I lost about 20 pounds in the first couple of months by watching what I ate and walking ALOT. I finally joined a gym about 2 months ago, and I try to go just about every day. I am SLOWLY starting to enjoy it, because since I go often, I don't have to work out for hours at a time. I spend about 15 - 20 minutes on cardio, and about 20 - 30 minutes weight training different muscle groups. The first month SUCKED!, but now I notice a difference and am feeling much better. I have lost a total of about 30 lbs. and don't cringe when I look in the mirror any more. I also take advantage of the hot tub and the steam room when I am there, so my skin is actually looking better as well. For anyone just starting out, my advice is to not over-do it, try to have fun and be patient. It takes a bit of time for any discernable difference but you will feel and look better. david

What's your favorite Austin Powers villian?
jynx242 replied to FlyingScooter's topic in Random, Random, Random
Fat Bastard! The Fem-bots were also great, but I don't know if they qualify as villans. -
Lots to do this weekend! Seafood Festival (with fireworks) Blues and Barbeque Festival Shakespeare in the park The Mutt Strutt yay

I will agree! Although it is not fun, per se, it is really important. I sold plasma in college, and that actually benefits people as well. Now, I just donate regularly. A little discomfort on my part is nothing compared to the life that my blood might save. david

What do you want to do when you grow up?
jynx242 replied to GAcoaster's topic in Random, Random, Random
Well... I started college as a Physics major - then decided that I hated math one day. I changed colleges and majors to Public Relations. During school I was a bartender/waiter for TGI Friday's and ended up being a corporate Computer Based Trainer for them. I was with them for about 10 years. I then went into Hotel/Restaurant management. Did that until it burned me out and am now in the Financial Planning / Services industry. If I didn't have to worry about money - I would go back to school to become a vetrenarian, or become a teacher. But - I do have to worry about money - so retirement / death planning (insurance) will do for me. david -
What's the worst song you ever heard?...
jynx242 replied to Movieguy's topic in Random, Random, Random
^^I concur! Hamburger Lady is unusual and just plain spooky (supposedly based on a true story?!) Nicole, although we have never met, by your pictures I could not picture you being a Throbbing Gristle fan. Guess you really can't judge a book by its cover. COOL. -
