  1. ^^ If you all will excuse me, I will be curled up in a fetal position under my desk quivering for a while. david
  2. ^^ Soft Cell's Tainted Love is definitely the ONE! coming from a HUGE child of the '80's d.
  3. I usually don't plan on watching a particular program on the History channed, but inevitably I turn it on and it becomes the only channel on the television for the evening. Lets hear it for educational programming for adults!!
  4. I hear you - during Hurricane season we get some especially crazy thunderstorms (and tornado's)! They are fun to watch (not tornadoes so much because they can come right for you.) It is also fun to watch storms coming in over the ocean.
  5. I remember when I was a bartender in college - it was against the law (Atlanta) to serve an obviously intoxicated guest. Personally, I don't see why a park needs to see alcohol. Before I get bashed - I am a recovering alcoholic, but still never drank in a park. That was one of the few times that I really did not want to drink - but that is just me. But since alcohol is (and always will be) a reality in some parks, there is some responsibility on behalf of the parks. Encouraging HEAVY drinking should be stopped. Having bars/beer stands open is one thing, but shooter girls in lines and an excessive number of alcholic offerings does promote heavier than normal drinking. Yes people should be responsible for their own actions, but judgement is IMPAIRED when people are drunk. They can (and often times will) be held acountable for their actions after the fact, but sometimes that is too late. Sure, people should be allowed to drink at an event like this - but they should not be encouraged to get plastered. This is just my opinion, and as such can be taken or left. david
  6. I give blood regularly and am a little confused by the "scar" comment. I guess I have little (smaller than a pin head) marks in the crook of my arm - but they aren't really noticable and are not like track marks. I would be worried about a Red Cross phlebotomist (I know I spelled that wrong) that would leave any kind of scar. david
  7. I love thunderstorms! I remember when I was staying in Dallas, TX for work and I was on an upper floor of a hotel with a balcony. Whenever there was a system of thunderstorms rolling in, we would call down to room service, order a pitcher of Margaritias and watch the storms roll in over the city. very cool
  8. Thanks for the great pictures - it is really nice to see you guys host an event for younger people that gives them something to do without getting in trouble. When I was the age of the people in the pics - I was up to "no good" at this time of the year. Kudos to you guys!! david
  9. In situations where your parents are getting older and need your help/assistance - I think that you do have a responsiblilty to take care of or assist them. If, on the other hand, they are capable of taking care of themselves, but are being irresponsible (substance abuse, etc...) then they need to take responsibility for themselves.
  10. Last night was GREAT! I really liked the flying effect. I am really beginning to love this show. Save the cheerleader, Save the world! david
  11. WOW - that's great news. All I can say is that this is one lucky baby!! david
  12. CSI:Las Vegas Nip/Tuck Weeds Dexter Old Episodes of Bewitched
  13. I am just beginning The Exorcist - I'm really looking forward to it (it is the right time of the year.) I generally read between 1 and 3 books a week depending on what books and what is going on around me.
  14. Used to go bar hopping to the bars that had great halloween parties. Now I've quit drinking, so I probably won't do that. I'm having a horror movie festival with some friends - on the menu: Halloween (the original is still the best) Phantasam (see above parenthetical quote) Nightmare on Elm Street The Hunger I'll make up some grub and have a "low maintenance" Halloween. david
  15. Please let us know if everything is all right with the pup. My dog was sick about 6 weeks ago and did not make it. She had an aneurism in her stomach. I hope yours is ok. This was her.
  16. ^ That was a GREAT response, Carnage - Thanks for the Trip Report. It looks like a grand time was had by all. That Arrow looper looks pretty sweet - like organized pain, the good kind. david
  17. ^^ I was under the impression that the Monkey Bars had already been banned! I can't imagine being in elementary school and not being able to play tag. I'm assuming that Hide and Seek has been outlawed as well. I do have to say that I am not sorry to see dodgeball go though. I REALLY hated that game. It's not that I was a "big, slow kid," but you would always have some neandrethal kid on the other team who was like 3 years older than everyone else and he would throw the ball so hard at your face that when it hit you it would lift you off of the ground and knock you on your butt. but maybe that's just me!
  18. A tan & black houndstooth suit, Geoffrey Beane tan oxford, flower printed tie, Johnston & Murphy shoes. I work in a rather formal office! david
  19. 15 ish How many cars have you owned?
  20. I watched again last night and all I could say towards the end of the episode was, "WOW." I'm thinking that Clair is my favorite character on the show - but Ali Larter's uber psycho split personality is pretty great as well. yay
  21. Saw the Spin Doctors in a free concert a couple of weekends ago - before that, last June Blues Traveler played a concert in a park near my house. david
  22. I've also found that on some of the older coasters (like Ninja or Mindbender at SFoG) they might be working on the other train / trains and unable to run them at all. Last Easter when I was at SFoG, everything was running more than one train except for Ninja - which ended up having the longest wait of the day (20 minutes.) The other train was not sitting on the transfer track, or anywhere to be seen. I was told that it was being worked on. I can't believe that I waited longer to get the crap beat out of me on Ninja than I did for the delicious airtime that is Goliath. david
