  1. I feel like I just lost a friend. He was such a genuinely nice person and will be missed. My thoughts are with his family.
  2. Most of my friends think it's awesome.
  3. Agreed! Voyage - well...It is my favorite coaster, probably for reasons that others favor it less. I can't marathon on it - two or three rides and I have to sit out. I guess I thought it was supposed to be that insane? It's been a couple of years and if it is rougher and still as fast, then I fervently hope the Timberliners make it as good as I remember it.
  4. Personally - I thought last night's episode was amazing. To Sir With Love and Somewhere Over the Rainbow were absolutely wonderful, and their Regionals number had me looking for my Journey's Greatest Hits CD. Can't wait to re-watch the season this summer.
  5. ^ Love the Mini Me addition. Gave me a smile at my desk. Great captions also! Look forward to the rest. David
  6. Thanks for the pictures. Indiana Beach is a gem of a park. My first visit was on the TPR Mid-West tour and I think I can speak for a lot of us in saying that we were completely blown away. I loved the "feeling" of the park. I am SO looking forward to re-visiting it this summer and getting to ride Steel Hawg. Looks like a blast. David
  7. Oh - if it doesn't involve complete and utter stalking (with disguises and such) it's just not fun Actually - I live in a tourist town and tourist watching is a favorite spectator sport of the locals. What some people will wear out of their hotel room on vacation is just GHASTLY! David "stalking should be an olympic sport" McCollum
  8. Phoenix was 200 Rampage was 250 First Coaster - Mini-Mine at SFoG Prior to 200, I'm not sure of the order. I know that I was at around 40 before my first TPR trip in 2007 (Mid-West) so these trips DEFINITELY increase the old count.
  9. Thanks for the pictures! I absolutely LOVE Holiday World, and can't wait to get back there this summer. Be grateful you're closer than I am!!
  10. ^^ Yeah - Acting a certain way as opposed to being a certain way is totally a turn-off. I've known some total hotties who were naturally flamboyant and have no problem at all with them (even dated a few.) But show me some twinked out club kid acting how he thinks "gay" people act and I'll run the other way like a drag queen on fire is chasing me. It is kind of insulting, actually. Damn - I sound picky And let me add, lest someone get the wrong impression, that although I like to look good, I also like to work on my house, I know how to work on cars (and do) and like all types of music (going through a death rock phase right now.)
  11. ^ I just prefer men As far as "gay" things - meh. I like NICE things. I dress well, but not extravagantly. I wear a suit and tie every day to the office, and like to make sure that they are in good shape. I have a tailor and a great drycleaner. Some people think that because I like to look put together and take care of my things that I am "acting" gay. Not really - I just take care of myself and my things. I don't pay as much attention to the outward things in other men as much as I pay attention to what I can see reflected from the inside. Self confidence and self respect are much more important to me than whether someones wrist is limper than mine.
  12. Fingers and Thumbs -= Erasure
  13. ^^ Oh heck - we are an opinionated bunch indeed. It's okay to have a negative opinion of anything you want and to post it in a thread. It's when you approach "meltdown" mode with your opinions that you get poked fun at. Sweeping statements like "biggest engineering failure" and such. Nothing wrong with having an opinion either way - but when it gets uber-dramatic, people will comment. David "all in fun" McCollum and I agree with you about not visiting/riding if you don't like something. EDIT - Robb got there before me
  14. ^ Unless you are hanging out at a park with Dave Thomas. Then it NEVER gets old. Theme parks bring out so much....material? Fodder? Stupidity? The commentaries that we have are worth the admission alone! Can't wait to mock people with you this summer Dave!
  15. ^ But it can be very very entertaining! On topic - i305 still looks like an awesome ride to me, and it seems to me that the park needed it. There seemed to be something lacking there last time I visited. Rides were fine, staff was nice, but it seemed like there was just a lack of interest. The new coaster, trimmed and untrimmed, seems to have added that IMHO.
  16. This made me laugh out loud! Sign me up for a band macing - the d@uchebags sound like they need it.
  17. The opposite is true for me. I love SFoG. It was my first job back in 1986 and loved it then as well. When I lived in Atlanta, I never got sick of visiting (sick of the crowds sometimes, but that wasn't the parks luster as much as its popularity.) Now I live 4 hours away, but still go every year at least once. I've been going there since I was 4 years old and still love to go. My appreciation has changed, however as I've gotten older. I still ride the crap out of the Mindbender whenever I go, but these days are much more leisurely. Now - if I were to go alone, all day would be too long. With friends, I can definitely hang for the whole day. David
  18. ^ Thanks! Look forward to meeting you sometime on a trip. They are awesome, and full of people of all types who hang out and have fun together!
  19. I absolutely loved last nights episode! I got my "Sue Time" and it definitely made up for last weeks dearth of Sue. Also - at the start, I said to myself that they just had to use a George Clinton song - and lo and behold - the last number was E-P-I-C!
  20. Chuck - glad you got to experience these two parks. I love them both. I agree with you about SFoG - it really is a pretty park, and the Mindbender always ends up in my personal top 10. It has since 1978! David
  21. You know what I like about these threads when people state their opinions (and stop arguing) - It makes me look at something in a different light. Personally - I found the Potter series like Literary Crack Cocaine and couldn't get enough of them. Looking at the updates, I am excited about this part of IOA. Reading Robbs post totally gave me a different perspective. If someone is unfamiliar with the series, this would definitely be confusing. His perspective makes me see just how big of a risk Universal is taking on this. I think it will do fine, and be wildly popular, but I hadn't thought about it in quite those terms. Thanks Robb! I feel a tad bit better informed than when I logged on this afternoon. David
  22. For those of you worried about Chang - if you haven't ridden it - you are in for a treat. When I rode it at SFKK it was amazing! My favorite stand-up.
  23. ^you look uber-cute in the new dress! It is very pretty.
  24. Heck - even if it isn't coaster related - give me a yell or PM if you decide to come into Savannah and we'll get together for coffee or something. David
  25. ^can we just call the last several days of that thread "dumbest things said on TPR?" I was truly agog! Yes - I just used agog in a sentence.
