  1. Mako / Kraken (both great for different reasons so they tie )
  2. ^I don't see you having any trouble getting everything done in a day - I'd to two days if you plan on spending a lot of time in the waterpark though, just so you don't feel rushed and can enjoy the park. Their Camp Snoopy is fantastic and I'm sure she'll love it. David
  3. After my most recent visit to the park I think any Six Flags park is more attractive to visit than SFStL. I don't think you completely understand how terrible La Ronde is. Don't look at the ride lineup online, don't watch POV's... you really have to experience it to understand. ^THIS!! Even with a Hyper, that place is just a hot mess. 45 minute wait for an SLC....WITH A GOLD Q-BOT.
  4. Well, well, well....this is exciting news. Although I didn't actively dislike Mean Streak (front seat, leaning forward ,) but I didn't find it all that interesting or exciting either. The sad thing is, by the MASSIVE structure and by its appearance, it should be extremely exciting. Due to its impressive appearance, I don't see them getting rid of it. Put me in the camp of an RMC makeover. I'm sure GCI could do it just fine, but I think CP is would be more likely to have any makeover of Mean Streak be pretty over-the-top and insane, which definitely falls into RMC territory. Just my opinion, so take it for what it's worth David
  5. ^I love park days like that. One good thing that I can always say about Dorney is that the lines have never been long on the times I've visited. Steel Force's non-air, magnetic, air gates really confused me though . I felt quite "special" when I couldn't figure out why they weren't opening..
  6. I was thinking this, which isn't necessarily a bad thing I was also thinking of Beast. I would love to see some slight modifications (banking and topper track on some of the curves for example,) but only to the extent that it could be run without the trim brakes again.
  7. To me, this looks like a fantastic addition to this park. I am curious on whether people who don't think t his ride is "enough," have ridden a GCI like Prowler at all, and if so, have they ridden it at night? Prowler is a really solid coaster and night rides on it are amazing. There is nothing "junior," "small," or "great for the kids," there. Same with Rumbler, Thunderhead, Lightning Racers, etc... Even if it were a little less "intense" than Prowler, have you ridden White Lightning at Fun Spot. For a family sized woody, it is really quite fun and is also thrilling. Anywho....kudos to Kings Island.
  8. ^Great pictures!! Thanks for sharing them.
  9. SFoG does a pretty good job with keeping up themes (their Gotham is fantastic.) That being said - if they are doing the Justice League ride where the bumper cars were - I can see them connecting that with Metropolis plaza (where Superman is) and making some attempt at keeping a coherent theme with the two. I don't know what this does to the Cotton States Exhibition, which is one of the original Six Flags Themes for that side of the park, but I'm hopeful .
  10. I finally got to ride Mako this weekend. I enjoyed it and it did have airtime. I do, however, fall into the camp that it is a good B&M Hyper. Nothing blew me away, but it was fun. It also seems to be a capacity monster. While it only had a 15 minute wait on a Saturday morning in July - manta was already at 40 (needless to say, I skipped Manta this time.) As for the Penguin ride - meh. It's cute and the ride technology is very cool, but I'll agree that the actual ride itself is not worth more than a 10 - 15 minute wait - and the majority of that time is because the Penguin exhibit is so good. David
  11. If I recall correctly, when I visited Adventureland with TPR in 2010 I had to leave the park to go smoke. Really didn't bother me too much and I probably smoked less that day than I would have otherwise . I'll add that this is really a GREAT little park and we all had an awesome time there - and this was before Monster. The ride-ops and employees were super-friendly and they ran insane programs on the Flats.
  12. ^Awesome -thanks!!!
  13. So, I downloaded it last week I guess, to find out what everyone was talking about. Although I have very little idea of what I am doing, I'm enjoying the crap out of it. There is a park across the street from my office, right on a lake. There are 4 Pokestops there and there are always people playing the game and walking around. Since I smoke (I know, terrible habit,) I now walk around the park instead of just standing beside the building during cigarette breaks. I'm collecting and evolving and stuff, but the whole Gym thing just baffles me. One other thing - is the Vaporeon good? I've evolved three Evees into the Flareon, Joleon and Vaporeon. Is this good?? Any advice would be appreciated
  14. Also remember - Kumba, back row, right hand seat. It's coastergasmic. Trust me.
  15. Awesome!! Thanks for posting this - brightened up my afternoon at the office!
  16. And now Epcot is the park that Kristen (who is 9 years old) asks us to take her to the most! So anyone who is going to try to convince me that what Epcot has been doing the past ten or so years is a step in the wrong direction, I will gladly laugh loudly in their face. I completely agree!!
  17. The way I see it - the Frozen ride is bringing gobs of people into the Norway pavilion (which has been expanded.) It is not like they removed any hint of the actual country of Norway when updating Malestrom. It seems to me that more people are actually visiting the pavilion itself and will probably learn more about the country because they will be spending more time there. I think it's a great idea to add IP based attractions to the Country's pavilions from where they came. Snow White in Germany, Beauty and the Beast in France, Mulan, Pooh/Tigger, etc. If it gets more people into the Pavilions of the country it gives the pavilions a chance to do their job in educating/entertaining. Does anyone remember when they were a kid and the Epcot day at Disney was like punishment?? There really wasn't anything exciting for a pre-teen and although the parents loved it - I was bored out of my skull and trying to connive my way back to MK. Just my thoughts David
  18. Looking good Bert - I love BGT and can usually find enough to see / do that rain doesn't really mess up the day (although Cheetah Hunt two February's ago in the rain at just above freezing was pretty chilling.)
  19. Also - the chairswings. They are awesome. Trust me on this - they are on the water and are just great. In my experiences, they run all the flats on pretty good programs as well.
  20. I'd definitely wait until you get there before getting Time Saver passes. They are great, but you might not need them at all. I've found that even if Dollywood looks SUPER Crowded - the lines for the rides can often be minimal. A lot of folks go there for the food, shows, crafts, food, scenery, food, etc.....
  21. Thanks for the pictures! Sounds like you and your dad had a fun time!
  22. Great fun reading so far! Look forward to more
  23. Hope you guys had a great 4th of July!
