  1. ^The Boss no longer has an on-ride photo.
  2. Rollerboy, your shaping at the top of the lift looks really odd, maybe something parabolic or with a constant radius would work better?
  3. I'm going to go for this one, the Seabreeze contest has a huge deadline so I can put that on the back burner for this. I like all these contests, they're getting me back into building for NL and taking away my designers block by forcing parameters. HA.
  4. Hey hey, great layout but I only see 2 trains on your track. Is capacity going to be a problem? Actually yes, I'm working on that one. And thanks for the information dr. gumbo, I've been studying Gerstlauer supports and it turns out they have some great tricks for supporting in tight areas, so that's not too big of an issue anymore. Status- Trackwork is complete.
  5. If you want to get technical, Tony Hawk is actually Spinning Dragons in disguise since SD came first. Nice pictures, I loved the comment about Prowler having a brick on the gas pedal. I can't wait to ride it!
  6. Chaos is my favorite flat at the Po!nt, I hope they don't get rid of it! It's not like it'd gain them much space anyways.
  7. Are track and supports measured by the node or does the rule indicate that literally NOTHING can be outside the borders? I have some footers, track, and supports that are coming very close to the edge and I'm wondering if parts of the footer and/or track can be outside the template if the node itself is inside. Ahh, this area is just so small! Update below.
  8. Thanks you! That clears a lot up and makes things a bit easier.
  9. I am well aware of this. I love doing support work and a challenge just makes that even better.
  10. Seabreeze Tight Fit Contest WIP
  11. I'm a bit confused as to whether or not track can go below Jack Rabbit's red box. I'm reading that everything is okay OVER the boxes, and that nothing can be INSIDE them, but the only thing I see pertaining to what you can do UNDER them is no terrain modification. I currently have my pre-lift going under Jack Rabbit's red box but if this is not allowed then I am going to have to change this. Consider this my tentative "I'm in," I haven't released anything on NL in quite some time because I hand build and I can never quite get things good enough. I'm trying my best on this one, though.
  12. I highly doubt that turn on El Toro will be retracked due to low banking and high laterals, GCIs may look highly banked but they definitely have a fair share of laterals. Evel Knievel has the some of the highest lats of any coaster I've ever ridden! Great pictures though, I'm really enjoying reading about all of these parks that don't get much coverage.
  13. Let's be honest here. This year's retracking picked up where last year's left off. The ride has had a lot of work done, but it has not been entirely retracked. I still find almost no air other than the bunny hop just after the right turn at the bottom of the double-down first drop. I've ridden on numerous occasion this season and find the ride is running better than in the past. Shuffling and washboarding are lesser than in past years, but still exist. Also, the ride crawls through the pre mid-course break run, not sure why it has slowed so much at this point. Kudos for Six Flags for investing in the Boss. The ride is a step up from the gut-busting, bone-jarring experience it was a few years ago. I noticed a great deal of new track throughout the entire ride. Maybe not every inch is redone, but it has definitely been heavily retracked. I'm not sure if you're catching it on bad days or if you only consider airtime -1Gs or more, but I count a good 10 spots of air on the ride, and that's NOT being generous. Yea the MCBR seemed to be grabbing a bit more this season, but it didn't "crawl" anywhere on any of my rides.
  14. Yea I don't mind ads in the park, but here's a quick sketch of what The Boss looks like now: Hopefully this puts into perspective how the advertisements might take away from the ride's aesthetic appeal.
  15. Apparently Boss now "jumps tracks" mid-ride, oh and "so does Screamin' Eagle!"
  16. Then why do they advertise it at SFMM? When I was in line for X2 two weeks ago, they advertised Funatics at least ten times on the TVs. ^Answered previously:
  17. I got the exact e-mail you got Larry after my first visit to SFStL on Saturday. It really is a great program and definitely makes my $45 season pass even more worthwhile. I thought the rewards would be crappy "$1 off of a $40 up-charge ride" coupons but they're actually turning out to be pretty sweet!
  18. Now all you people who are visiting for the first time can't say that MF is the best ride in the park, wow! We might be hearing about the decency of other rides for a couple of weeks. The cable snapped, they'll get a new one. No big deal, seriously.
  19. I went to my "home park" for the first time yesterday (Saturday May 30th) and I'll make this short and to the point. This is what I noticed was new: The Boss- -The station has been taken over by Miracle Whip advertisements and it looks ridiculous. -The ride has been completely retracked and is running AMAZING. The top couple layers looked to be new throughout the entire ride and it was running the best it has since opening with every transition packed with airtime. It was smooth in the front and back in the morning, afternoon, and evening. I almost thought I was riding a GCI! The final helix is the only part that's still a bit rough. Props to Six Flags for renewing this ride! Screamin' Eagle- -The queue and surrounding areas have been sold to M&M's. Though my girlfriend did find the ads to be "cute." -Eagle seems to be running with more air this year, but it still doesn't have much. Not much has changed here. Mr. Freeze- -Besides the BEAUTIFUL new paint job, not much has changed on the ride experience. Batman: The Ride- -A few queue elements have changed but not much else. OVERALL- -The park has been completely sold out. Now I know six flags has always been advertisement heavy, but this year was just horrible. You can tell they're hurting for money cause every spot that can be sold for an ad has been. -The overall "population" in the park seemed to be reverted back to the student and "riff-raff" types that Six Flags had previously worked so hard to get rid of. I guess that's the price you pay when you offer tickets for so cheap. -Some idiot slammed into my car in the parking lot while I was in the park and didn't leave his information. While not the park's fault, when I asked security if there was anything they could do they simply said they don't have cameras and all they could do was write down my information. -The staff throughout the entire park was VERY friendly. We were greeted by game's operators as opposed to yelled at to play. We were asked if we were having a good day and encouraged to have "a six flags day" multiple times. It really was nice to see. -Operations were great on every ride. It wasn't crowded at all for a Saturday but there was at least 2 trains on EVERY ride and crews were dispatching very quickly. -Exits to all of the coasters have been fitted with new gates. I'm not sure what purpose they serve, but they're not a nuisance.
  20. Looks like a great weekend in St. Louis with the family. I love hearing positive reviews on the park, and trust me you missed WAY more in skipping Mr. Freeze than you did in skipping the arch. The arch is pretty much an up-charge observation tower with a mediocre view.
  21. What song is that? It's intense! The ride looks really nice now, it was in need of some love.
  22. Agreed, I am not a high-g nut like some people, so I enjoy Patriot, but B:TR clones are much more intense. B:TR clones are definitely more intense, but Patriot can still hold its own and is plenty forceful.
  23. If you let me know before hand I might be able to meet you at SFStL, I'm about an hour north of you.
  24. ^The video loaded in about 90 seconds for me and I'm using cable internet through a wireless router to my laptop running Vista and Firefox, so I doubt anything you just listed is your problem.
