Disneyland Paris (DLP) Discussion Thread
martinb replied to SharkTums's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
The only news I know of is thats the name has been changed, its no longer "Crush's Turtle Twister", its now "Crush's Coaster". I find it strange that they are saying that it wont be open on time nearly a year before the official opening, I'd guess that they are slightly behind schedule, but the good news is that there is enough time for them to get "back on track". -

The one that GT Yarmouth Pleasure Beach had was 90ft, same with the one on Blackpool's South Pier, both 90ft and both good fun. Plus, they're also pay per ride attractions, which is right up Altons street. -

You should notice that the area where the Black Hole sits/sat is very low, a 90ft Skycoaster would fit in there like a treat. And I don't think the height restrictions are strict around the X-Sector, look at the view you get from the top of Oblvion, also Spinball Whizzer is about the tree level. Like I said, I don't think the height restrictions are very strict on that side of the park. -
Unfortunetly its over now, but this is what we done: Day 1: Monday 21st August Travel from Norwich to Wales. As we have Annual Passes we decided to make a quick stop at Thorpe Park as we have to go right by it anyway. Eventually got to Wales and spend the evening at Oakwood. Day 2: Tuesday 22nd August All day & night at Oakwood, Day 3: Wednesday 23rd August Travel up to Blackpool in the morning, spend all day and night at the Pleasure Beach Day 4: Thursday 24th August Again, all day and night at the Pleasure Beach, probably go to the Sandcastle during the day Day 5: Friday 25th August This is the day that we have yet to 100% decided what to do. Either go to Pleasureland Southport, or Flamingo Land, or just go straight to Skeggy from Blackpool. Day 6,7,8: Saturday, Sunday, Monday w00t! 3 or 4 days at Super Sunny Skeggy. Can't really plan what we do coz we will do so much, we just go with the flow. We'll go swimming at Butlins, get loads of tokens at Fantasy Island, get loads of wristbands at Skeggy Pleasure Beach, we'll probably spend a few hours up at Pleasure Island aswell etc etc. You'll probably realize that I done this 'itinery' before we went on this trip, as alot of it is in past tense, but never mind. It was all great fun, as expected. Highlight of the trip was my first ever trip to Oakwood, such an awsome little park(where I found a new love), my other highlight was falling out of my boat on Dragon Mountain Descent And to my surprise, the low light of the trip was Blackpool & the Pleasure Beach, all will be explained later. We also didn't go to Pleasureland, again all will be explained later. I haven't got time to do the photos right now, but I will do them as soon as I have the time.

Wild WILD rumours say that a MoveIt32 could possibly be placed in the tent, but this is just a rumour. Theres also some rumours about a Sky Coaster replacing it, but we'll just have to wait and see. X-Sector is the place to keep your eye on for the next Alton Towers ride, either this year or next year the X-Sector is getting a major clean up/refurb(re-theme?). Alton have already started by cleaning up Oblivion, some of the trains in the transfer shed have a had all brand new harness' fitted, new graphics and paint work etc. -

Oblivion's my favourite ride at the park, if it was removed, it would destroy the park for me! I should have put that in my last post, sorry. Thats actually a good idea, but knowing Alton's luck, they'll live till 110. Anyway, I can't see Oblivion being removed, the worst that will happen (IMO) is they cancel the firworks nights AGAIN. -Martyn "Hopes & Preys" Branford -

Do you know Alton Towers were due to open SW6 in 2006, that was the 200ft woodie, going straight through the valley from Ug Land to the Forbidden Valley, but the Roper put paid to that plan. This isn't really episode 2, its just the case continued: That is a very worrying statement, if it goes wrong for AT, theres nothing they can do about it, but the same if it goes wrong for the Ropers. The funny thing is, one of the Judges for the case got really angry with the Ropers, because of their determination to destroy AT. Yet knowone else who lives in Alton gives a flying fish about the noise, its just the Ropers. They told the press that they won't stop until they get what they want. So this really is D-Day for AT, this will be the last time they will be in court with the Ropers, so after this hearing we could never hear from the Ropers again, if they lost, but they won, AT will change forever and most probably loose Oblivion -
Oh dear poor Thorpe Park

No, no, no, you've the wrong idea, I'm not saying you shouldn't have gone, no way. You all seem to have the wrong end of the stick. Robb, Elissa, Lou, James, Rich, I'm sorry. -
The first video is better placed as its in the middle of the ride, Have you watched the second video? It only just made it over the top hat. -Martyn

And its pretty much what you'd get if you mix Stealth with Rita. I apologise if something like this has already been posted, but I'm just chuffed that I've finally got to see some footage of this coaster. -Martyn
