  1. I have still yet to do a zip line here in the states. My wife and I did one in Costa Rica near Arenal (SkyTrek) and it was INSANE!! I know that the ones here wont compare to that one, but I still want to give it a shot.
  2. When Pow Wow had their event this Monday and for the Team Member preview this week...Forbidden Journey will only have its queue line open, not the ride itself. I have to agree that because we are only a week away from WWoHP package guests arriving, we will not have a soft open until closer to the June 18th date. I could be totally wrong though as just before the packages start next week, Coca Cola has a big event at IOA that will include WWoHP upon availability. I am proud of UO for being ultra tight lipped bout all of this. Usually we know everything about new rides/lands way in advance.
  3. The price tag really is not that bad considering you get admission to Gatorland as well. As stated above, it is great to see this park keep adding more and more!
  4. Kohrs Custard and Three Brothers Pizza....food of the gods!!!
  5. River Country was a great park when I was younger. It was the place that I learned to swim or pretty much forced to learn to swim because I remember them banning anyone wearing the swim wings in the pool.
  6. I don't need anything fancy for my theme park pizza. My earliest memories of WDW is sitting at Tomorrowland Terrace having my yummy cheese pizza. Sure it might not be anything close to real NY pizza but it was good for me. $37 - $40 for a large pizza? No thanks. I can get 3 18inch pies at my local place for that amount. But overall, I guess I am happy to see them opening something new. ANYTHING new in a theme park is a good thing.
  7. One of the best moments was my first evac at a Disney attraction. POTC went down, had to drain the ride track and got directed through the dry dock and behind the scenes to get back to the front.
  8. agreed...it it still surprising how many people go on vacation without researching where they are going. There are still tons of people out there who think Universal and Disney are the same.
  9. I am quite worried about the queue having too many themed rooms. Sure for quite a while when the line is long, you will go through each room but what happens when it dies down? Will they still force everyone through the entire queue or do shortcuts? Universal is known to do this quite often (ex. Dueling Dragons)
  10. That Strawberry Shortcake stand is amazing and honestly, it is a great value considering its a fair. Pretty much all strawberries and whipped cream you can balance on the biscuit/shortcake for $3.50
  11. Universal Studios Florida Islands of Adventure Sea World Orlando Discovery Cove Magic Kingdom Epcot Animal Kingdom MGM/Hollywood Studios Busch Gardens Tampa Bay Boardwalk & Baseball (defunct) Circus World (defunct) Old Town Disneyland Disney's California Adventure Sea World San Diego Six Flags Gread Adventure Wild West City (defunct) Jenkinsons Boardwalk Morey's Piers Busch Gardens Williamsburg King's Dominion Sesame Place Family Kingdom Water Parks: River Country (defunct) Blizzard Beach Wet n Wild Aquatica Typhoon Lagoon Water Mania Schlitterbahn (New Braunsfels) I might be missing a few smaller parks but not bad list so far
  12. Since this fair is not far from my house, this is a fun annual event for us. The only downside is that they do not have all the crazy fair food you see out there (no Deep Fried Butter, Deep Fried Pepsi, etc.) This was the first year they had the corn on the cob that was pictured! Still not a bad deal for $5 but the best deal is for $15 you get admission to one of the rodeo nights and free entrance to the fair!
  13. Hollywood Rip Ride Rockitt....for the longest time, I was super against this coaster. Bad location in the park, no true ties to theming, etc etc. However, as the ride was being built I got more and more excited about riding it, testing out the music, finding hidden tracks and so forth. So finally in December after a very wet Macy's Parade, I went through the single riders line and in 5 min i was sitting down. Going up the lift I was all excited then it hit me....boredom. Sure it was somewhat of a fun ride but it just didn't have that defining moment for me. Since then, I made a promise (hope i can keep) that I wont get my hopes up about new rides. Just chill out and enjoy it when I get to ride. At least that is what I am planning for with WWOHP
  14. I do believe that this change in roads will benefit locals the most since northbound Helena comes from a housing area. Still good to see that Polk County is all about this park!
  15. I do not like the fact that they released the 911 call....i know it is public record but enough is enough. The family has gone through so much as it is, do not need more reminders. As for the buzz that if "The Cove" wins an Oscar, they are going to lecture Sea World, it would be a complete dick move.
  16. As for the FL res ticket thing...they are going to start cracking down on fl res purchasing for non fl res, but that is something they have been promising for a while now so....i dont see a problem as long as your buddy is going with you. also...check your private messages.
  17. I seriously hope that the height requirement for Forbidden Journey is wrong. I understand we are working with a roboarm and such but damm 48"...
  18. Manhattan Express...not only the roughest ride just the whole operation looked bad plus reading all the warnings here on TPR and hearing people in pain getting off the ride was not a good sign.
  19. Especially when number two is taking place on the clock during overtime!
  20. 8yrs at Universal Orlando. 4 years in Attractions (BTTF, KidZone, ET, Cat in the Hat, Bluto's) then 4 years in Sales but still work in the park occassionally picking up shifts at the attractions or special events (HHN, Macy's, etc.)
  21. Yesterday was a sad day for all who or have at one point worked at a theme park, are an annual passholder or even just a general fan of theme parks. No one wants to see this type of stuff happen. While I am not suprised, I am dissapointed in the media orgy that surrounded the event. One local channel in Orlando was asking if anyone had pictures to please send them in to the station
  22. Amazing TR covering everything in that area. My wife and I are headed to Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge the week after Turkey Day. Yes, a very weird time to go but am very excited for all the cheesy tourist goodness that we will encounter. Headed to Nashville also, might have to detour to Sir Goony's!
