  1. This is non news really, Apple sues companies all the time, and companies sue Apple all the time. It's not so much Apple is trying to "snub the competition" (although definitely a part of it) but in order for a person or company to keep their patents, they have to actively defend it, as vague as it is hence a lot of the lawsuits. And a lot of times what happens isn't necessarily monetary gain, but agreements for sharing technology ("we'll let you use this one, if you let us use this one") unless it happens to be a smaller company or one without many patents (such as HTC might be) then they go for the jugular. I think you'll be hearing about an HTC lawsuit in the coming weeks as well, and it'll be very interesting to see how involved Google becomes with all of this.
  2. ^That's my method when I'm not feeling too lazy, otherwise I just use the dishwasher lol. Looks good, can't say I'd ever make it as I hate onions and mushrooms, but thanks for the TR!
  3. hahaha I love how secretly nerdy that is! Awesome job raising funds, and awesome job finishing it!
  4. ^^That's kinda my point too, what's really much more technical about this show then anything else that has already been done? The fountains don't look much different then what's used in Bellagio's (just more pretty colors); water screens have already been done before across the esplanade; so has fire (the revamped mirage volcano comes to mind); heck that was the main criticism for this show a few pages back! Like I mentioned the only thing that really hasn't been done before would be the chernazurg and maybe to some extent the domes, but even those don't seem to revolutionary and are being thoroughly tested now. Which brings us to the three main platforms and why I asked if Joey (or anybody really, I'm really curious) knew how the other large scale fountain shows worked as they also raise and lower the nozzles each performance. Not to say this won't have hiccups though, I just don't see it being anything like Murphy the Dragon. EDIT: Never mind then, Joey seemed to have answered that lol. I just hope it's not that big of a deal come actual show time.
  5. Do you know how the fountains in Bellagio and the Dubai fountain work? Are those raised separately or together? I know Disney added the ability for the whole thing to come out of the water for easier maintenance, but is that really that different then the systems that are already out there?
  6. Eh, It works for the Bellagio, Downtown Burj Khalifa, Fantasmic!, and Mirage, I doubt there will be huge hiccups (I can totally see the chernabog mechanical piece being a problem though).
  7. I'm pretty meh over this show, I liked "Secret Millionaire" a LOT more as they did a lot more good in the communities. Although this is a good show for showing the "bad" aspects of the companies. I've only seen the 7-11 CEO's episode.
  8. This is why Cruise ships shoud be free in the ocean not forced to perform for selfish humans! I think it's time to put down this ship after multiple deaths have been linked to it. (Seriously though, that sucks for the families of the crew members and I wish a speedy recovery to those who were injured!)
  9. I've been driving passed this park a lot lately and I didn't even know this was new! Then again I haven't been to this park since 1996 so theres that. Thanks for the TR.
  10. I view this thread often, but I'm not usually the type of poster that will post after every single update. I for one am thankful to you for taking the time to get these updates for us so frequently. Great pics and thanks again!
  11. ^Correct you will get a confirmation e-mail from a "Judy" with additional details. The nice woman I was speaking with did not say when these would go out. Sent my email on Monday just after noon and got called back today around 2. Me and a friend will be there both shifts on Wednesday. As of when I spoke with her earlier, they only had spots open for the first shift on Monday, both shifts on Wednesday, and the shift on Friday, but she said they had a lot more people to call as well.
  12. ^Keep in mind most of the locals are just getting out of school and are still at work SO there will still be a surge of people. But ultimately I agree. Movies (2D/3D/4D/blahD etc...) are no longer special or must see attractions like they used to be, and just a place to sit for a little and be entertained.
  13. I was debating on weather to go tomorrow or not (YAY I have a pass again! Even if it is only SoCal Select) and if that's true, I'll wait till next week lol.
  14. I honestly don't think the complaints would be too bad as people really never saw DCA as a Disneyland equivalent otherwise there would have been more people in the parks besides all the passholders. I also think since Disney has most of the attractions open, it may not seem as bad to people (Not that they don't notice the insane amount of construction, but at least their favorite ride is still running, blah blah blah). How they handle the entrance closure will be interesting as well, as that will be an even bigger eyesore since it's visible from outside the park and completely unavoidable. And I really hope they make a few final changes to the park entrance as I really don't like the Disney's Hollywood Studios theme they have going on, I would love to see something more original. I'm not sure actually closing the park would be more beneficial to the resort as it really is a "damned if you do, damned if you don't" type of situation and at least this way they can still make money. And it would have been a LOT nicer to have it be done without guests and more quickly, but at the same time there's a lot of people that work at the park that depend on the job as well as having that extra draw to keep people around the resort longer as ultimately this is a business and they do still need to make money.
  15. ^^No it doesn't, Thunder Canyon pulls it's water from Lake Erie, and Snake River Falls had it's own chlorinated water system. From the press releases of Shoot the Rapids, it will have it's own chlorinated system as well. Having them in the same area mostly just to keep them in the same place. That area of the park is the only place people are allowed to go shirtless too.
  16. ^There's a nice quote for you. There's at least 28% for no with another possible 3.6% up in the air. I doubt it would take that many more to say no for this to fail.
  17. Agreed, Ginger knows how to FLY!
  18. Wooow you got to be kidding me.. A national coming out day?? thats a first.. I don't think we have something like that over here in Holland! Thats a really weird thing.. Why pick a day to come out of the closet? Allthough I think it is difficult, you can do it everyday.. Actually, October 11, 2010 will be the third year the Netherlands has a National Coming Out Day. It's not so much a day to actually come out (although I'm sure many do) but it's more of a day to create awareness about the LGBT community around the world. The event was started in 1988 so it's been around a while and it was created in much different times when something like this was more needed. Obviously the attitude toward the LGBT community is drastically different as it becomes more socially acceptable through awareness with events such as NCOD that let people realize that we are not much different then (general) you. And that concludes today's lesson kids. lol
  19. "There's a sucker born every minute." Which is why I voted yes as well.I also don't think they will make it an entire season before they shut down again.
  20. Oh wow this looks VERY similar to the LA County Fair we have here in September. Seemed like most of the same ride types to (MMMMMM KMG Experience!!), glad you guys had fun and thanks for sharing!
  21. Hmmm strange, I tried it in all three of my browsers and nothing. I did make one of myself though. I dare you all not to laugh! http://www.mymagicaldisneyvacation.com/16457 Edit: This one is doing the same thing (the site loads, but it only shows the blue box, not the movie) Maybe it'll be fixed tomorrow.
  22. ^Video doesn't work. I still my favorite thing Disney has EVER done was the fake news video that they had for the year of a million dreams. You basically entered a name into a generator and the video had the name all over the park.
  23. lol I didn't actually! That episode was filmed before I moved to Redlands and I was already at Cedar Point for the year by the time it aired. I have a few friends that said they are already re-painting and re-landscaping some stuff. I'll take a quick drive by tomorrow and see what I can see.
