  1. The only major so-cal park that's not open every day is SFMM. Knott's is open all year but I believe they are still closed on Christmas.
  2. No, those ones are more like Electrical Parade floats with just black backgrounds and lights on them. They aren't that detailed.
  3. ^ CK7's been a thing since last season. LOL
  4. I just wanted to share something I posted on a football message board at the end of November regarding the change at QB for my 49ers. Hindsight being what it is, I think I was pretty spot-on.
  5. Roger Moore is hit or miss with me, mostly hit. I just think the mistake with Dalton was having stories that were probably more "Roger Moore Bond" stories with a different actor that wasn't Roger Moore. I think Lazenby would have been a great Bond if given the chance, but he's even admitted he screwed up. Overall, I think they've done a really good job picking "Bonds" but sadly it seems some stuck around too long and some of the writing hasn't been great. Chuck, totally agreed about Quantum of Solace. All things considered I think it's the worst Bond movie. Maybe if you looked at it as an individual movie Die Another Day is worse, but sandwiched in between the greatness that was Casino Royale and Skyfall it really makes it stick out. All that said, I really wished I would have seen the series on Amazon the day they had the whole collection for $100 on BluRay (including SkyFall which they will send when it's released) before Xmas. Hopefully something similar will come up again soon.
  6. ^ I never got why everybody loved the Pierce Brosnan Bond movies so much. Goldeneye and Tomorrow Never Dies were great. The World is Not Enough and Die Another Day are two of my LEAST favorite Bond films. I think Timothy Dalton get's short changed. I really like his take on Bond even though the movies he was in weren't the greatest. Why they let John Glen continue to direct movies after For Your Eyes Only and Octopussy is beyond me.
  7. ^ Exactly. I've met Bonnie a few times and have found her to be a genuinely nice person. She has this perceived persona that I don't think is necessarily the truth. We may bash the park for the direction it's going in but they are catering to what the park is and the clientele they serve. That's rule #1 in any service industry. I still have to give them credit for keeping the train open in the old Thomas Town as well. That thing probably get's the lowest ridership of anything in the park but the area is still nice and the ride is still open. Heck, even over the last year I've seen a steady decline in people in BBW.
  8. Glad you all made it. Just what was the "spectacular"?
  9. How far is the new parking garage from the park entrance? Do you think the park will end up using it at all and possibly (hopefully) using some of the existing lot for park expansion? Looks to be pretty far off but with trams they could make it work. Loving the progress of the new coaster and new stadium for my 49ers. Thanks for the pics everybody.
  10. We tried one of those new cheesy onion burger things from McD's tonight ... god awful. Never again.
  11. We will totally get the SFHH one as that's the only time we actually eat at the park, and for only $25 what a steal. We rarely eat lunch let alone lunch AND dinner at SFMM.
  12. I think Movie 43 looks hilarious, but it's probably one of those movies where it's best to go to a bar for a few hours before, get hammered and then see it with a bunch of friends.
  13. I thought we had a thread like this ... glad I searched. Just finished Warm Bodies. I thought it was great. Can't wait for the movie. My daughter just started reading it and is so far enjoying it as well. Next up is going to be Stephen King's 11/22/63. I've heard mixed things about it but B&N had it on sale a couple of weeks ago so I downloaded it to read on my Nook. Not sure what's after that. Always willing to take suggestions.
  14. ^ I finally read Warm Bodies based on your suggestion and absolutely loved it. Less excited about World War Z since I've heard it doesn't look like the book at all. I need to read that next.
  15. I've used FastLane, FlashPass, FastPass, Gate A, etc. I like them all. I think that FlashPass is probably the best of the "pay for" ones, but I do like that you don't really have to reserve your ride at the CF parks for FastLane or at Universal for Gate A. Granted, I've only used Gate A at HHN, FastLane at Knott's for Haunt and at KD so I'm not sure if it's the same for other parks. I'm really intrigued to see what Disney does with their FastPass+ since our visits are going to be less frequent since we aren't renewing our DL AP's.
  16. The Last Exorcism Part II??? Well, I guess if they can have 5 FINAL Destinations.
  17. What are some of your Least/Most anticipated movies of 2013? Two of my LEAST anticipated are The Lone Ranger and Oz. Both look horrid to me even though I know at least Oz will make a gazillion dollars. As for my Most I have to go with The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug, Iron Man 3, Star Trek: Into Darkness, Warm Bodies, Jurassic Park 3D, Evil Dead, Kick Ass 2, Man of Steel, Despicable Me 2, Pacific Rim, Thor 2, Hunger Games 2, Saving Mr. Banks.
  18. How is it that I'm more excited for a coaster being built 1/2 a world away than I am for a coaster being built 35 miles away?
  19. This is generally a VERY good time for SoCal parks as well as school is back in session for the most part that week and it should be light crowds at Disney, Universal, Knott's, Sea World as well as the awesome WCB days.
  20. Awesome. I was wondering if there was going to be a WCB this year. I love this change as well!!!
  21. Something tells me Dom Capers is going to be out as the GB Defensive Coordinator. And he should have been after last season. With the amount of talent on that team they should have more than one Super Bowl win. Same thing applies to Peyton's Colts from a few years back. I'm totally rooting for a Ravens/Niners Super Bowl but I'd hate to have Ray Lewis' last game be a loss to my 49ers.
  22. As a 49ers fan I was kind of torn as to who I wanted to win that game. A game at home against Seattle who trampled us a few weeks ago (in Seattle) or going to Atlanta. I think we actually got the better end of it. That ATL defense better play a hell of a lot better than they did today. Should be a good game though.
  23. What a couple of amazing games yesterday. Today's games only wish they could be as good, although I hope they will be. That Denver/Baltimore game was crazy. I had Denver picked in my pool but I was pretty much rooting for the Ravens because I'm such a Ray Lewis fan. I'm very glad they won. As for my 49ers, hopefully they alleviated some doubt that people had in them. Whoever they face next week has a better Defense than GB, but neither of them have a better offense. If it wasn't for Kaepernick's Pick 6 in the 1st quarter the game wouldn't have even been THAT close. Only 1 win away for BAL/SF before we get the HarSuperBowl.
  24. For the first time ever I can say I've ridden the #1 anything!!!
