  1. Watched a couple more Oscar Nominated movies over the weekend: Life of Pi This is one I wasn't really looking forward to but it absolutely blew me away. An absolutely enchanting movie and very well done. Great effects, great story and absolutely touching. Definitely recommended. Silver Linings Playbook Absolutely amazing performances all the way around. I know Jennifer Lawrence is getting all of the accolades, and deservedly so, but Bradley Cooper was so good in this. I remember seeing him all the way back when he was on Alias so seeing the actor he's become is really awesome. Also, one of the unsung hero's of this movie is Chris Tucker. He was really great in this and very easily could have received a supporting actor nomination as well. Only have 2 Best Picture movies left to watch. Lincoln (which I'm going to go see tomorrow) and Amour. I probably won't catch Amour because I really don't have any interest in watching it and it's not playing anywhere near me.
  2. Both USH and SFMM are approximately 40 miles from our house, so take your pick. As for closest at SFMM I guess it would be Revolution based on proximity to the parks entrance. Although when Full Throttle Opens it will probably be that by a few feet? If you are drawing a straight line I'd guess Apocalypse is closest. At USH it's obviously Mummy.
  3. Even though Jaguar is classified as a "family" coaster, anything with a 48" height requirement doesn't really qualify as a family coaster IMO. Family Coasters to me are coasters that families can ride together starting at around age 4 or 5. Timberline Twister isn't a "Family" coaster, it's a "Kiddie" Coaster.
  4. Isn't it amazing? Coheed and Cambria - Away We Go (new album "ok" so far)
  5. After riding Jaguar over 350 times for Coasting for Kids the last 2 years I absolutely hate that ride. That said, because it's such a good cause I'm looking forward to doing it again this year.
  6. I don't think those will come into play AT ALL. Perilous Plunge had issues, I'll give you that. Xcelerator, other than a couple of incidents has actually been pretty consistent during its decade of being open. Certainly more reliable than that "other" coaster that was in that spot. As for Sky Cabin, that ride opened in 1976. It's been there for 37 years. Of course it's going to have issues.
  7. SFDK lost their super bowl bet. They should be happy that they have the much better park though. From their FB page:
  8. Another thing not mentioned about the 49ers is that they are going to have 14 draft picks in the upcoming draft. And that's before we trade Alex Smith for probably more. They'll likely get some O-line and D-line backups to sit behind the current players and learn for a few years. They'll most likely also need another Tight End since Delanie Walker is a Free Agent and he's a starting TE on probably 20 other teams in the NFL.
  9. ^ Exactly. I barely care about the NFL Draft and now I'm supposed to care about this non-event because ESPN says so? Not for a second. The only thing I know about National Signing Day is that kid that put a tattoo on his arm for one school and ended up choosing another. I have no idea which school he went to but they must be so proud. They obviously got a genius. Heck, NFL teams don't even know who's the best. Alex Smith drafted #1 and Aaron Rodgers drafted #24 in 2005 draft.
  10. ^^ Airborne is ... ok. Nickelback was what I was referring to when I said "they could have chosen worse". LOL. But considering Nickelback is also on the RoadRunner label and the fact that the release says they'll be playing videos from other RoadRunner artists in the queue and surrounding area I'm guessing we'll get Nickelback more than any of the others. Although this also means they could play Rush which would at least make that area tolerable.
  11. There are certainly worse music choices they could have made.
  12. So far: SFMM - Jan 19th, Feb 27th, March 9, 23, 30, Aprill 11, 26 Disneyland/DCA - Jan 25-27
  13. The Million difference isn't really that huge when you consider Knott's is open 364 days per year and the Knott's number includes Haunt.
  14. Seahawks are going to be better next year, but I honestly think the 49ers will be too. Seahawks are great ... at home. They only won 3 games on the road last year, 4 if you count the playoff game with a 1-legged RGIII. They'll have to improve on the road if they hope to supplant the 49ers and win the NFC West. IF the Seahawks get the #1 seed next year it will be very hard for anybody to beat them on their home field. As for Kaepernick, I agree with everything you all said above. It's funny that people are saying that he's peaked that defenses will start to figure him out and claiming that he's still just a "running" QB. They must not have been watching the games. I think the team needs another WR to complement Crabtree, Kaepernick finally figured out that he's got one of the best Tight Ends on his team. I'd like to see Moss come back, but we'll see. I think the 49ers offense is set other than WR, defense is set except for a good DB. It was obvious BAL figured out they could exploit our Nickel defense and that chump Culliver who got burned more than once. I'd like to see him go.
  15. 8/10 - Hard to go wrong with an awesome coaster.
  16. Opeth - I Feel The Dark
  17. TV On The Radio - Repetition
  18. Riddlers has taken a hit because it's gotten rough, nothing at all to do with Freefall. But as was said above, you must have caught it at a good time because it almost always has a line.
  19. I still think your idea was funnier, but this would have been better than the actual commercial. http://teamcoco.com/video/budweisers-clydesdale-ad-takes-a-dark-turn
  20. You can watch them here. Scroll down a bit. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/02/03/super-bowl-commercials-2013-watch_n_2612632.html?1359944906#slide=2056910 Another good one (I thought) was the Mercedes one with Willem Dafoe playing the devil. Perfect casting. LOL
  21. The worst ones IMO were for that new Budweiser Black Beer and new Becks dark beer simply because there is nothing Bud or Becks could do to convince me to drink their crappy beer. The Go Daddy one was gross. The Farmer one was interesting, well shot, a nice shout out to radio history and my daughter liked it because of the FFA logo. Other than that, the message didn't resonate with me at all. Some of my favs were the M&M "I'd do anything for love", Doritos Goat, Joe Montana stain and the Paul Rudd/Seth Rogan/Bob Odenkirk one. I even liked LeBron's cameo in it.
  22. ^ The future is still bright for our 49ers. Young QB, all starters (except Moss) under contract for at least 2 more years. The only question mark on our Defense right now is Justin Smith (and obviously our secondary). With Alex Smith we have a commodity to trade and either get an elite DB or a high draft pick. As for the game, sure there were some blown calls at the end (Holding on Crabtree, Holding on the "punt" at the end) but it was the play in the 1st half that ultimately cost them the game. Lots of people are saying that the power outage caused the 49ers to be able to come back. What BS.
  23. I've met Tony a few times and he's a genuinely nice person and somebody who you'd love to just sit down with, have a beer and pick his brain. I think Joey is pretty close in that this will actually give him more freedom and I actually wouldn't be too surprised to see him work on some projects outside of Disney. Disney outsources so many things these days (as Joey said) that it probably won't be that big of an impact. Still, it's sad to see a little more of the history of Disney leave.
