  1. ^ I agree with the one week between games. Two weeks is too long. So apparently Tom Brady got fined $10k for that kick ... he should have. But on the flip side. Frank Gore got fined $10k for wearing socks that were too low. Something not quite right here. Not saying Gore shouldn't have been fined, if that's a rule, it's a rule ... a stupid rule, but a rule. But it shouldn't be the same amount as Brady's kick.
  2. Totally impressed with the changes I'm seeing coming to SCBB this year. Definitely going to have to make a stop when we are up there in June.
  3. ^ Yep, unfortunately in this day we all have to account for the lowest common denominator. Ahh, didn't realize Swarm was just the back two rows. That works.
  4. Not having been to either of those parks, do those coasters have multiple loading stations? If not it would be confusing to have one train forward/one backwards and have everybody loading from the same station. This is why I don't think Batman would work with 1 forward/1 backwards. ^ It works on things like American Eagle, Colossus, etc because they have 2 stations.
  5. Just my left wrist when I was in kindergarten.
  6. I went to SFMM a LOT last year. I think it was close to 30 times. Only 2 or 3 times did I spend more than 3-4 hours in the park (WCB, Fright Fest and maybe LL:DOD media day). Most visits were probably about 90 minutes to 2 hours max. Even on our coaster trip last year I actually felt it was a couple of days too long. 4-5 days seems to be the max for me anymore before I need a non-park day. If it wasn't for the fact that the last two park days consisted of ECB at two great parks I'd never visited (KD/BGW) I probably would have not been in a great mood.
  7. I still think X2 would be greatly benefited by leg restraints similar to the B&M flyers.
  8. Zero Dark Thirty Man, I love $5 movie Tuesdays. Another GREAT movie to check off the "Best Picture" list. Parts of it were VERY hard to watch ... VERY. But the movie was fantastic, there was no "filler" and the movie sucks you in from the first second and never lets up until it's inevitable end. All of the performances were great, directing was great and the final "Seal Team Six" stuff was probably some of the best covert ops footage I've ever seen in a movie. So compelling and on the edge of your seat for 2 1/2 hours. I still think Argo may have been the better movie, but it's hard to decide now.
  9. ^ I think he meant to say East Coast bias? That's the only thing I can think of.
  10. Listen to Robb. Front Row, inside seat on X2 is a pretty awesome. You go any further back than row 3 and it sucks.
  11. Ugh, that sucks Joey. Active is one of the worst websites ever, there needs to be another option for races already!!!
  12. I took the picture of the Single Rider sign because it was actually the first time I'd seen it. It may have been there for awhile but there were 2 or 3 signs signaling the Single Rider option for Viper.
  13. ^ Sure they aren't. And almost 7,000 people haven't looked at the Full Throttle pictures since they were posted on Sunday. I'm sure most coaster sites haven't even had close to 7,000 total visitors since Sunday. next ...
  14. Awesome. Can't wait. I was hoping it wouldn't be the weekend of June 15 since I'll be in SF running the Marathon.
  15. ^ I must have missed that part. LOL
  16. At first I was all "What's the big deal, what guy wouldn't want to go that way" and then I saw the words Washington and 51 and decided against it.
  17. Top Secret is definitely one of my favorites.
  18. I like both Ray Lewis and Jim Harbaugh (obviously) so I'm going to enjoy the next 2 weeks immensely. I think it's funny that people are saying that the Falcons "shut down" Kaepernick because he didn't run for 180 yards again. They obviously don't understand the "read" portion of the "read option". He read the Falcons defense perfectly and correctly handed the ball off instead of getting losses on every run. He proved yesterday that he can stay in the pocket and STILL beat you. He's going to be hard to defend for a LOT of years. And can we finally put the "Tom Brady is better than Joe Montana" argument to rest?
  19. Not only does that look like Hulk, but it also looks like Dr. Dooms Fearfall in the background as well.
  20. Please don't blame all 49ers fans for some idiots. There were even fans last week that were glad Alex Smith got hurt which gave Kaepernick the chance. Absolutely sickening but every teams got them.
  21. ^ And she's smoking hot. I think she was probably my favorite too.
  22. Sorry for the double post, caught a couple more movies last night and today. Beasts of the Southern Wild This is a weird one for me. I "liked" it, but I didn't think it lived up to the hype AT ALL. I may have liked it more if not for all the hype, but without all the hype I probably would have never seen it. My advice, if you are going to watch this, do some research on it first so you know the basic story line at least. Argo This one, unlike "Beasts" TOTALLY lived up to the hype, and then some IMO. I'm going to come out and say it, Ben got Robbed (and I'm SO not a Ben Affleck fan) and so far (even though I have yet to see Lincoln and a few other Best Picture ones) I think this is my pick for Best Picture. I think I liked Django better based on my personal preferences, but I think this is probably the better "movie" if that makes any sense.
  23. I'm honestly not so sure how I feel about this. I had a hard enough time riding XLR8 backwards at SFA and I was 9 years younger then. Superman or Colossus backwards is one thing. I'd probably ride it once but that's about it.
  24. The park was pretty dead while I was there today. Longest line was for the Season Pass processing. Even when I walked by Tatsu the line only seemed to be about 45 minutes and was just in the queue, not stretching out into to walkway. And this was before X2 opened. It was testing all morning but it seemed they were having some kind of issue. I think it opened later in the day. Green Lantern's queue was at least inside the building. Lex had about a 5 minute wait. I rode Ninja and Colossus and walked on both. By the time I left at about 1:30 the 2nd lot was only about 1/2 full. Also rode slingshot. I thought it was fun but I didn't realize you flipped so much on those. I just can't do stuff like that anymore. While I was sitting there for a bit (about 20 minutes) I didn't see anybody pay to ride. EDIT: I also saw today that with the new lockers you have the ability to rent a "locker pass" and move your stuff from ride to ride. Unfortunately it's $6 for only 2 hours so I'm not sure how much it will actually be used. I personally think that if it used to be $1 for an hour then it should be no more than $2 or $3 for 2 hours. I'd even go as far as to say $8-$10 for a full day would be the way to go. Will have to see if they modify this but it's a great idea!!!
  25. Finally saw Les Miserables today. I thought it was VERY good. I haven't seen the Broadway show but I've heard the soundtrack and I've read the book so I pretty much knew the story line. I thought all the actors did a phenomonal job except ... no, not Russell Crowe, I thought he was good ... Amanda Seyfred. She didn't fit Cosette for me at all (and I have a friend that works on Broadway who felt the same so glad to know I wasn't alone in that one). Hugh Jackman, Anne Hathaway and Samantha Barks (Epinone) were absolutely fantastic. Highlights for me were of course Anne Hathway's "I dreamed a dream", "A Little Fall of Rain" and "Empty Chairs at Empty Tables". Those three got me good. On a totally different note, also saw Frankenweenie last night. I loved it. Very faithful to Tim Burton's original short, but took it to another level. Not sure if I liked it as much as Brave, but I liked it very much. Only 2 Animated movies and 6 "Best Picture" movies to go before Oscar night. Watching Beasts of the Southern Wild tonight.
