Soarin' Queue Pictures
Sir Clinksalot replied to maliboomer's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I dunno, the Paradise Pier attraction queues are pretty bad. I still think the best queues in DCA are Grizzly, Bugs (duh), Muppets (duh again) and SSL. The rest are just kind of bleh ... and not Disney standard IMO. -

Best Songs for Coaster Videos
Sir Clinksalot replied to TheKid's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I think the best coaster songs aren't necessarily your favorite songs. But just songs that fit well with the segment or the age group you are trying to appeal to. Some I have been thinking about: For a "Clones of Six Flags" segment: I think I'm a clone now - Weird Al For a "SFMM" segment: Highway to Hell - AC/DC (could work for a SFMM and Knott's segment) -
Wild Adventures
Sir Clinksalot replied to Sir Clinksalot's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Thanks for the advice everyone. As of right now it's looking as if I won't be able to get there. The night I was planning on going is our scheduled "Fancy Schmancy" dinner with my whole department with our department head. Hopefully it will be a different night, if not I can't chance being late to that. Gregg "Stupid work for ruining my plans during a business trip" C. -
What Was The Last Coaster You Rode?
Sir Clinksalot replied to SharkTums's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
HOLY CRAP ... I'm so out of it. It was indeed Colossus that I last rode though, not Revolution. Although Colossus was rather crappy. -
Has anybody else in the LA area checked out the "New" 93.1. For those of you unfamiliar with the pathetic radio station in LA consider yourself lucky. Not only did we have 2 Classic Rock stations, they both pretty much sucked. Although Arrow (The old 93.1 station was better than KLOS IMO). Our "Modern" rock station KROQ should be renamed KRAP. Our Hip-Hop stations are annoying. About the only good thing on the FM dial has been KLSX, but with Stern leaving next year I'm sure that will be crap. Anyway, it's an all new format that basically plays anything and everything, and it's all good. In the past week I have heard everything from Aerosmith to Madonna to AC/DC to No Doubt to Flock of Seagulls to The Mars Volta to Run DMC. It's a really different mix of music, but strangely enough I REALLY like it. One of their tag-lines is "It's like your Ipod, on random" and it really is. If you are in LA definately check it out. 93.1 has moved from #4 on my radio pre-sets to #2 behind 97.1. It may move to that spot soon.

Revolution at SFMM ... -
LOL!! Well, my belly is significantly smaller these days. Still not "small", just "smaller". Gregg "Hoping to lose another 10 lbs before WaterPark season" C.

Over the weekend: Robots: It was cute. Not as good as the Incredibles or Shrek 2, but WAY better than A Sharks Tale Wimbledon: Sure it was predictable, but it was still good. Kirsten Dunst is way hot. I Heart Huckabees: I couldn't get into it, lasted about 30 minutes.

I remember we went looking for the park when we got Married in Vegas. We were at the MGM, and still couldn't find the damn place. It was pathetic. Gregg "Wanted to get the "Credits" even though at the time didn't know what "Credits" were. " C.

Space Mtn. DLR
Sir Clinksalot replied to BurritoKing99's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
It's scheduled to reopen on July 15. It's the same layout, although it's all new. New Track, new Queue, new platform, new effects, etc. I for one am glad that they didn't go with the DLRP style ride. The old layout was fun, not too extreme. I think I saw somewhere that the height requirement went from 40" to 44". I wouldn't be surprised to see Big Thunder follow suit. -
For those of you who don't feel like signing up: I think it's idiotic that Six Flags is going to have this opportunity with 2 MAJOR sports venues less than 5 square miles away from the park. A Super Bowl coming on 2011. Any improvements made to the park over the next 6 years can be made up with 1 full football season and 1 super bowl week. Easily. SFOT, IMO is in a perfect geographical area. Moreso than Disneyland and a hell of alot more than SFMM.

Why does Soarin' close if it's raining??? That doesn't make any sense ... -
^ No!! If I do Wild Adventures it will be before Kristi get's there. If we do Dollywood it would be on Friday if I can get out of the Friday conference stuff, which is a possibility right now. If I can't get out of it then it's just SFOT on Saturday and no Dollywood. Gregg " Maybe getting some "Solo" Credits" C.

Okay, so I have the Tuesday of my business trip to GA open next month. Since I am pretty sure I'm going to rent my own car I was thinking of maybe taking a day trip to Wild Adventures. This will all have to be done in a day. From Atlanta to Wild Adventures and back to Atlanta. I was thinking of leaving at 6am, get to Wild Adventures at 10am. 10 - 2 at the park and then 4 hours back to Atlanta. Is this doable? Is this advisable? Gregg "Who wishes that SFOG or even Dollywood were open on that Tuesday" C.
-
Sure the schedule we did was hectic, but you have an extra day in there. It's totally doable. I mean, if you want to get the most out of your trip sometimes you have to be hectic. Heck, when I go to Atlanta next month I'm probably doing some insane 1 day drives. Atlanta to Wild Adventures back to Atlanta on the same day. Atlanta to Dollywood back to Atlanta on the same day.

This actually sounds cool to me ... I swear, at this rate I'm going to have 5 versions of Star Wars, Lord of the Rings and Indiana Jones before all is said and done.

Took this on Saturday ... good shot of Jaws ... -
I actually liked Flashback when it first opened. I think the ride can be made good again, especially with the nice new B&M restraints that they use for their hyper-trains. I don't think it will be back at SFMM anytime soon, if ever. But, if they aren't going to use it, tear it down, expand HH and let some other park have it. Same goes for Greezed' Lightning up at SFMW. Put it somewhere for God's sake!!!
