The "Say Happy BDAY to your fellow users" Thread
Sir Clinksalot replied to robbalvey's topic in Random, Random, Random
Happy Birthday Canobie Fan. And, although I know he isn't a poster happy birthday to my little boy Josh. He turns the big 7 today. Here is a pic of him this morning. They are having "Career Day" at school and he wants to be a Game Designer. (Thanks Robb). So he's wearing my Activision shirt. It's a little big, but who cares. That's my daughter standing next to him, she is a teacher today. -
This is how I would rank the ones I have been to: SFOT: Good layout, Good Coasters, none that I would say flat out suck. Even the boomerang is good. Nice collection of flats and the park itself is flat. Always a plus. I only wish we had more time to spend here and that we weren't so tired when we were there. SFFT: Would be above SFOT if they had 1 or 2 more coasters. What they do have is great though. The most "Themed" of any Six Flags park I have been to, reminds me of a Busch park. SFAW: Does not deserve the flack it get's. Sure it doesn't have any 'new' coasters, but what they do have is good. They have a nice collection of flats, an intamin drop tower and good water rides. SFMM: The worst operations of any SF park I have been to. Granted, I have been here ALOT more than the others so I'm probably more critical of it. If we were talking late 80's / early 90's this park would easily be the best, but were not talking those years, so it's not the best. It has some 'good' coasters, nothing I would say is flat out awe inspiring. It also has some C-R-A-P-P-Y coasters.

Worst Ride Name
Sir Clinksalot replied to maliboomer's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
The new (redesigned Corkscrew) coaster at Alton Towers in England is going to be called... wait for it .... RITA. That's right folks, coming this summer, you will be able to RIDE RITA. http://www.riderita.com/ -
I know ... I'm scared that during your Europe trip I'm going to walk in on a dead hamster. Gregg "would hate to break bad news to my friends" C.

KBF (Solace '03) - 26 on Xcelerator ... 18 were without getting up ... the 26 was throughout the whole Saturday of Solace ... 7 on Ghostrider ... 4 in a row (and that was pushing it) SFMM (early 90's, all on the same day) - 14 on Colossus 12 on Ninja 9 on Revolution 8 on Flashback 5 on Viper This was all right when Batman:TR opened and the lines were INSANE for it, which meant all other lines were walk on's, and I knew alot of Ride Ops at that time so we didn't have to get back in line alot of times ... I also got about 8 rides on Batman: TR in the pouring rain after it first opened. DLR - 12 on CA Screamin' ... not in a row, but 2 or 3 rides, to Avalon Cove for drinks ... 2 or 3 rides, then back to Avalon Cove for drinks ... It was at least 12, may have been more ... Jim and Kristi probably have as much recollection of that day as I do ...

I haven't been to Schlosky's so I went with Quiznos. Their Chicken Carbonara or Spicy Monterey Club is to die for. But for best all time ... Dan's Super Subs!!! It's a hole in the wall place in the SF Valley ... BEST SUBS EVER!!! For Pastrami it's all about Johnny's in Culver City.

People that don't understand
Sir Clinksalot replied to CoasterCrazy's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Eh, become a druggie and see how much they won't care about coasters. It's a hobby just like collecting models, playing video games, working on cars, etc. -
Just what the topic says. What bands have over-stayed their welcome? Are no longer relevant? One too many farewell tours? Aerosmith (Boys, you were the original party band, but enough is enough) Kiss (Should have been gone back in the 70's) Dave Matthews (It was once great, now, not so much) Courtney Love (Why couldn't she have shot herself in the mouth?) Cher (Hopefully this really is her final farewell tour) Bad Religion (It saddens me to say this, but all good things must come to an end. At least we have 20 years of great music to remember you by) Fred Durst (Why couldn't he have shot himself in the mouth?) Van Halen (It's over Eddie)

Anyone else pick up the new Studio Ghibli DVD's today?
Sir Clinksalot replied to kenshinmac's topic in Random, Random, Random
None, won't but any EVER!! I saw Spirited Away and it was 'supposed' to be amazing. It wasn't. -
^ The only reason I didn't mention Guiness is because you kind of have to work your way up to it. I don't think that a "New" beer drinker should head straight for it. Gregg "It's all about the Black n' Tan" C.

When did you become an enthusiast?
Sir Clinksalot replied to maliboomer's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Mine was kind of different: I always liked coasters, would go to SFMM weekly (when I was in HS and College), always watched the Discovery and Travel Channel shows and would say "Wow, it would be cool to go there", but I never did. We were the "Disney" people for awhile because our kids were so young it was pretty much the only place we could go to and they could ride stuff with us. At this point we would make yearly trips to SFMM or Knott's, but Disney at least once a month. A few years ago we were planning a trip to WDW (which we still haven't taken) and I found Laughingplace.com. That led me to Westcoaster.net and our good friend Jim Disney. For about a year we were just doing the SoCal parks and then we met Robb and Elissa and we all instantly hit it off. It wasn't until then that I started getting into the whole "Coaster" thing and finally got on some trips last year with them. It's really only been since then that I have been keeping up with what is going on outside of SoCal and planning trips. I also think that RCT had alot to do with it. -
Right Guard Extreme!!! It's the Xtreme Deoderant!!!!

Well, Tequila is a different discussion in and of itself. Give me some Patron or Casadores, some limes and my shot glass collection and bring it on baby!!! kenshinmac I would love to try some new beers, but as you said, they are not on SoCal.

^ Don't need the gas can. Just cut out the bottom of a 2-liter soda bottlle ... But make sure you cut it before you start drinking. 2 Liter bottle + piece of old hose = BEER BONG!!!! I don't like fruity beers ... if you want something fruity, get a margarita!!!
