  1. The new (redesigned Corkscrew) coaster at Alton Towers in England is going to be called... wait for it .... RITA. That's right folks, coming this summer, you will be able to RIDE RITA. http://www.riderita.com/
  2. I know ... I'm scared that during your Europe trip I'm going to walk in on a dead hamster. Gregg "would hate to break bad news to my friends" C.
  3. KBF (Solace '03) - 26 on Xcelerator ... 18 were without getting up ... the 26 was throughout the whole Saturday of Solace ... 7 on Ghostrider ... 4 in a row (and that was pushing it) SFMM (early 90's, all on the same day) - 14 on Colossus 12 on Ninja 9 on Revolution 8 on Flashback 5 on Viper This was all right when Batman:TR opened and the lines were INSANE for it, which meant all other lines were walk on's, and I knew alot of Ride Ops at that time so we didn't have to get back in line alot of times ... I also got about 8 rides on Batman: TR in the pouring rain after it first opened. DLR - 12 on CA Screamin' ... not in a row, but 2 or 3 rides, to Avalon Cove for drinks ... 2 or 3 rides, then back to Avalon Cove for drinks ... It was at least 12, may have been more ... Jim and Kristi probably have as much recollection of that day as I do ...
  4. I haven't been to Schlosky's so I went with Quiznos. Their Chicken Carbonara or Spicy Monterey Club is to die for. But for best all time ... Dan's Super Subs!!! It's a hole in the wall place in the SF Valley ... BEST SUBS EVER!!! For Pastrami it's all about Johnny's in Culver City.
  5. Eh, become a druggie and see how much they won't care about coasters. It's a hobby just like collecting models, playing video games, working on cars, etc.
  6. ^ You would like it!!! I actually caught a minute of it the other day and she was trying to explain the SNL thing. The explanation is almost as pathetic as the performance was. Gregg "Robb probably spent $40 on the Paris Hilton Video too" C.
  7. Here is the SNL Video: http://primetimetv.about.com/od/vid...eesimpson_s.htm I just love how the band keeps playing and is totally laughing. Here is the Orange Bowl Video: http://primetimetv.about.com/od/vid...eeorgangebo.htm Equally as great ... if not better.
  8. Just what the topic says. What bands have over-stayed their welcome? Are no longer relevant? One too many farewell tours? Aerosmith (Boys, you were the original party band, but enough is enough) Kiss (Should have been gone back in the 70's) Dave Matthews (It was once great, now, not so much) Courtney Love (Why couldn't she have shot herself in the mouth?) Cher (Hopefully this really is her final farewell tour) Bad Religion (It saddens me to say this, but all good things must come to an end. At least we have 20 years of great music to remember you by) Fred Durst (Why couldn't he have shot himself in the mouth?) Van Halen (It's over Eddie)
  9. http://www.laughingplace.com/ Well ... I thought they were cool.
  10. None, won't but any EVER!! I saw Spirited Away and it was 'supposed' to be amazing. It wasn't.
  11. ^ The only reason I didn't mention Guiness is because you kind of have to work your way up to it. I don't think that a "New" beer drinker should head straight for it. Gregg "It's all about the Black n' Tan" C.
  12. WTF? IMMENSE, its been closed for years and all we get is IMMENSE special effects? i wanted a totally different ride The track is the same layout, but it's all new track. It's not like they kept the old track and just added effects. The ENTIRE ride has been gutted and re-done.
  13. Mine was kind of different: I always liked coasters, would go to SFMM weekly (when I was in HS and College), always watched the Discovery and Travel Channel shows and would say "Wow, it would be cool to go there", but I never did. We were the "Disney" people for awhile because our kids were so young it was pretty much the only place we could go to and they could ride stuff with us. At this point we would make yearly trips to SFMM or Knott's, but Disney at least once a month. A few years ago we were planning a trip to WDW (which we still haven't taken) and I found Laughingplace.com. That led me to Westcoaster.net and our good friend Jim Disney. For about a year we were just doing the SoCal parks and then we met Robb and Elissa and we all instantly hit it off. It wasn't until then that I started getting into the whole "Coaster" thing and finally got on some trips last year with them. It's really only been since then that I have been keeping up with what is going on outside of SoCal and planning trips. I also think that RCT had alot to do with it.
  14. Right Guard Extreme!!! It's the Xtreme Deoderant!!!!
  15. Well, Tequila is a different discussion in and of itself. Give me some Patron or Casadores, some limes and my shot glass collection and bring it on baby!!! kenshinmac I would love to try some new beers, but as you said, they are not on SoCal.
  16. ^ Don't need the gas can. Just cut out the bottom of a 2-liter soda bottlle ... But make sure you cut it before you start drinking. 2 Liter bottle + piece of old hose = BEER BONG!!!! I don't like fruity beers ... if you want something fruity, get a margarita!!!
  17. No favorite song, but I do like a variety of music.... -Rush -Maroon 5 -Avril Lavagne -U2 Kristi "Rush is the best!!" C.
  18. Don't want to sound like a tard here, but how do you capture an image of your desktop??? Gregg "Confused in CA" C.
  19. ^Wow, you ARE a beer snob! Don't drink beer, do shots!!! Kristi "can't stand the smell or taste of beer!" C.
  20. If you just want beer to get drunk, or standing at the BBQ on a hot summers day ... MGD or Corona. But for God's sake, stay away from Bud. It will turn you away from the stuff. I used to HATE beer because all I ever had was Bud or Miller Lite. Go for the good stuff!!! I have to stress: DON'T DRINK BEER FROM A CAN . BOTTLE ONLY!!!! If you want to 'taste' the beer, go with: Dark Beers: Bass Ale Sam Adams Newcastle Carl Strauss Michelob Amber Bock (the best "Corporate American" beer IMO") Dos Equis Pale Beers: Heineken Rolling Rock Carl Strauss Pale Ale I would suggest just trying a variety of different beers (not on the same night). It took me more than 10 years of beer drinking to find some I really like. If you drink more than one type of beer on the same night (talking GOOD beer here) it will make it taste different from normal. Now, if you are drinking say Strauss and you want to go from a Pale Ale to a Dark Ale then that's fine since they are from the same "Brew". But don't go from a Bass, to a Newcastle to a Sam Adams. I also suggest getting the beer on "Tap" if possible. If not, make sure you pour it in a glass, not out of the bottle. Certain places (Like the Pub at Monte Carlo in Vegas) you will need to sample different types. It's necessity. But then again, like I said, those are from the same "brew" so the ingredients and brewing style are the same, only the specific brewing is different. The other thing I can tell you is that what you eat certainly changes the taste of beer. I usually try to have my beer before the meal, so I can enjoy it. Other times I have one before, eat then another after. Depends on what type of meal it is, and who I'm with. Alot of my friends don't drink, so lingering after a meal isn't usually something that happens alot. Sometimes (again, like the pub) it's almost necessity to eat while drinking. But order something that isn't "Extremely" Garlicy or something. It will make the beer taste nasty no matter what it is. Which is why in Italian restaurants you don't typically see alot of beer being served. So again, Italian, drink the beer before you eat. I have also noticed that since I have started drinking "Premium" beers I don't drink as much. A 6-pack of Newcastle or Bass will last me a month. Of course, I work nights so I'm not able to drink during the week. Any more beer questions and I will be happy to answer them for you. Gregg "Loves being a "Beer Snob"" C.
  21. What is on my mind right now is why do mother in laws have to be such a pain? I would like to get through one holiday or family get together without interference. Is that too much to ask? Kristi "Sorry Gregg, I married you not your mother!!" C.
  22. Gregg "Or you can look in my avatar" C.
  23. And boy are the Sex-y ... Growwwlll Gregg "The thong compliments them ever so nicely" C.
  24. Sadly, that site is pretty reliable. I think we are going to try and go in about a month, so at least maybe Buzz will be soft opening. Gregg "Trying to at least get a little use out of the kids AP's" C.
