  1. Glad you got everything resolved. Hopefully these new changes will make for a better TPR!!
  2. Dear TPTB@TPR - Is it possible this year to include a reference of some kind in the write-up for each video that credits the song that's being utilized? I don't know about everyone else, but I've seen plenty of videos around these parts where I've been incessantly humming the music for days afterwards, with no clue the title or artist (that infernal "Best Friend" song in the Orlando video springs immediately to mind - that was the most brilliant usage of bubblegum music I've heard in a while). What'cha think?
  3. You also get a discount on the HHN Express pass, which is a necessity. I dunno if you get that with the Power Pass, however.
  4. IMO that would be a Dark Ride. Sorry. But I'm not an authority or anything. Look here to see types of Flat Rides: http://www.flatrides.com/rideindex.html
  5. You are coming at one of the busiest times of year for park times. As you are staying in Carlsbad I will start with that area and work my way out. LegoLand - It's a kid's park, but a really fun kids park. 3 credits here, but it's worth at least a 1/2 day or more. It's in Carlsbad so the drive is a non-issue. Sea World - A very clean park, some good attractions and shows. Free Beer at the hospitality center. Another 1/2 day park. A few miles away is Belmont Park and the Giant Dipper. You can easily do SW and Belmont in the same day. 30 to 45 minutes from Carlsbad depending on traffic. Disneyland/DCA - This time of year you will need at least 2 full days, maybe 3 depending on previous visits. Only come here mid-week, weekends will be a killer in June/July. Commute could be anywhere from 1 to 2 hours depending on traffic, which can be deadly in the mornings. Knott's - Typically I would say only 1/2 day here, but depending on what day you go I may have to suggest a full day. Maybe do 2 1/2 days at Disney and 1/2 day at Knott's depending on your mood. Commute will be about the same as Disney. Castle Park/Pharoh's - 1/2 day park at most. You can do Castle and Pharoh's in Redlands and make a day out of it. You may be able to throw in Scandia in Ontario. Commute from Carlsbad shouldn't be too bad as you can take the 78 out to the 15 which will bypass alot of traffic on the 5. Expect an hour or more to Castle Park. SFMM - Full day this time of year. Again, avoid a Saturday if possible. Commute from Carlsbad can be from 2 to 3 hours depending on traffic. Vegas - 2 days is good, expect the heat to be on this time of year. Commute is easy, again take the 78 to the 15 straight out to Vegas. It will be about a 4 hour drive depending on speeds and construction.
  6. Jambo, from your pics is a Falling Star. They are awesome IMO!!! Nice TR and pics, their raft ride looks pretty cool for a Six Flags.
  7. UC Pierce baby!!! Or, as we used to call it ... Pierceton ... get it??? I also went to Pierce for 2 years. Then I stopped. I was going to go to SCC (Southern California College, now Vanguard College) but didn't have the $$. My first major was Theology, with a minor in music. Then I switched it to History also with a minor in music. I have been thinking of going back, but when the hell do I have the time for that?
  8. Just a warning: I did a drunk thread on Westcoaster one time ... It was fun while I was doing it, but looking at it later was like ... woah. Gregg "I'm gonna have fun reading this" C. PS - Remember kids ... alcohol is the devil!!!
  9. I wish I was. It looks effin' sweet. Gregg "Going to an engagement party on Saturday, maybe we can sneak out early and see it" C.
  10. My last name means Condom in espanol ... So since I live on SoCal, it pretty much means Condom here too. Gregg "At least my names not Michael Moore" Condon
  11. Didn't know that Real. I will update it tomorrow then and re-post. Thanks for the info. Other than that what does everybody think about it? It wasn't very difficult, obviously.
  12. ^ Neither do I. Tower of Terror is not a Flat ride either. The only type of "Tower" I may consider a flat ride would be Condor at SFGAmerica.
  13. DLRR ... My favorite trains though are not at a theme park, per-se. They are at Griffith Park in LA at a place called Travel Town. It's a kind of train museum, plus they have a mini train ride that is pretty cool.
  14. ^ Actually no. Disneyland opened with only 1 so-called (at the time) E-tickets. That would be Jungle Cruise. If you want to go as far to say that JC is an E-ticket, than HKDL is opening with 2. Disneyland opened with: DLRR Main Street Cinema Main Street Transportation Jungle Cruise Mark Twain Stage Coaches Mule Pack Carousel Peter Pan Snow White Tea Cups Canal Boats Mr. Toad Space Station X-1 Autopia Circarama The stage coaches and mule pack didn't even last a year. Although they did add 8 new attractions in '56, 4 in '58 and the Subs, Monorail and Matterhorn in '60. So they certainly didn't sit around and do nothing. We have to remember that Disneyland has had 50 years to get their current line-up. Magic Kingdom almost 35. Epcot almost 25. You don't open a park with everything, although I will agree that they need more at HKDL. Maybe not another E, but more C and D attractions at least. Here is a cool Disneyland timeline for those interested: http://www.disneydreamer.com/history/timeline.htm
  15. I wonder if the typical "Lightest person in front" rule applies. This would be cool for kids if they could be sandwiched between two parents. It would help the "fear factor".
  16. ^^ No you don't have to return your controllers. But, if you bust one you may not be able to find another one. Except maybe used.
  17. How can you accidently make it to Hong Kong???
  18. He means owned ... Remember folks, most people don't speak retarded computer speak, or whatever the hell it's called. The $90.7 million aspect isn't what's going to hurt the most. They have to stop selling PSOne and PS2 models with the Dual Shock controller. Last time I checked they only came with the Dual Shock controller. I'm interested to know what are the 40 software titles they have to stop selling as well. Gregg "Glad I'm now an X-box guy" C.
  19. Actually since the thing is being built in Japan it's under OLC budget. I would think that the ride would be pretty close to the original concept. Take this into consideration: DCA's Tower reportedly cost between $90 and $100 million. TDL's is estimated at $190 million (US). And unlike DCA's tower it appears to just loom over the entire American Waterfront area. Anybody have any idea what it is they are building what seems behind the tower. It's shown in picture 64 on that site.
  20. Awesome update guys. Zion is awesome. We stopped for a few minutes in the outskirts of the park when we went to Colorado a few years ago. Utah in general is an amazingly beautiful state. Well, except when you are getting pounded ... by rain. Glad you guys had fun. In nature of all places.
  21. Nice Video. One thing, I didn't realize the ride was so short. Definately a unique rocket coaster. I also think the trains look sweet, better than Xcelerators. The way they incorporated the restraints into the design is awesome.
  22. ^ I think it would probably be the other way around as the plans for Westcot were around in the mid to late 80's. Nice find on that map!!
  23. http://www.jtcent.com/disneysea/american/amwtot.html You can look at the most recent shots or do a slideshow of all pics since they started construction. Looks like this should be great!!!
  24. http://www.s115142501.websitehome.co.uk/rita/rita.htm Some cool pics and reviews of Intamin's latest rocket coaster.
  25. The reason I didn't is because of the Lim settings where you can stop the train before the launch.
