  1. I build them like Kumba's lift hill supports. I know that design is outdated, but it looks cool to me. http://www.rcdb.com/m/94.htm?p=5142
  2. I started with this B&M floorless a few days ago. It's 120-ish feet high, starts with a very steep drop, followed by Immelman, Loop, Zero-G-Roll, Corkscew, 540* Helix, Corkscew. The color of the main track is the only one that is set at this point, I might darken the supports, unless I find a nice color that goes with the orange.
  3. New rides get a high place in their first year. Troy, when it opened, made it to #4, and look where it is now.
  4. ^Looks really nice, but I'm stuck with two questions: 1. Can we save up the store credit for several years and then use it. For example, you buy nothing from the store, but in 2013 you go on a trip and use the (build-up) credit for the trip. In other words, does the $15 have an expiration date? 2. Could you consider calling it NOT 'Club TPR' ?
  5. While the Grizzly at CGA was boring and well, actually it was simply just 'nothing', the other Grizzly at KD did try to break my spine and that was one of my worst experiences on a (wooden) rollercoaster.
  6. ^Then something must have gone wrong in the process. I've rarely seen a 800x600 go over 200 kb as a jpg. Perhaps you could use a different program to resize your pictures.
  7. ^that's because it's a BMP file, and they take up a lot of bytes. When you have resized it, save it as a JPG and it'll much smaller.
  8. I am working some days this week, but that's because Toverland (where I work) is open 365 days a year, and my school isn't.
  9. 1. What are your initial thoughts? The idea is great. I'm really interested. 2. Can you think of anything else we could be offering? Not sure about the possibily of these, but they are just some things that crossed my mind: - Larger avatar, signature and ability to change title. That's all I can think of, I'm not sure how TPR could offer *anything* more than you already mentioned. 3. Is this something that interests you? Definately, the membership looks awesome. Especially the 'priority seating' and getting into other perks. 4. Why would you NOT be interested in this? Two things are kinda holding me back, First, I have never bought anything other than shirts from the store, and I really don't think I'd spend $15 a year in the store. I'd rather pay $25 without credit, or something like $30 with a $5 credit. Second, I am worried about how much 'activity' there will be around me compared to the price. 5. Any additional feedback you can give us based on the information you see here. The idea is super and you should definately work it out. I'm not sure if I would join, I think I need to know some more details before I can really make a decision. But if this works out the way TPR usually works things out, I'm really looking forward to it.
  10. Just another nail on the cheaters coffin, If you claim that El Toro isn't a wooden coaster, than why do they rank it so low between other WOODEN coasters? If you think it isn't a wooden (which it is, btw) that just leave it out and let the rest decide it's rank.
  11. I never noticed it untill today, but for how long is Troy being used in the background of the opening screen?
  12. I voted for 5. It looks very jungle-ish. Perhaps the dark tones could be lighter and different shades, say dark-green,dark-brown,dark-grey to create more contrast and give a more jungle thing to it.
  13. A little update for you guys: - The director of Toverland confirmed that Toverland WILL be opening a new rollercoaster in 2010. She stated this on a local television talkshow. http://www.l1.nl/popups/mediaplayerpopup/_rp_comm_lsvideoId/1_4274351 If you know the dialect, you can check it out here. And some other stuff: - The budget of € 10 million is said to be raised to € 12 million ($ 17.7 million). - It is not know if the two announcements descibe the same ride. Either the 10mil water ride is being replaced with a 12mil rollercoaster, or they are planning a 12mil rollercoaster with 'water'. It is not specified what this water element could be. This could be a B&M-splashdown or a fountain in the queue line.
  14. Out of Knott's, Universal or Disney I would pick Universal. Knott's only good coasters are Xcelerator and Silver Bullet, and there's plenty of coasters at Magic Mountain that outrank those. Disney is a very cool park, but since you also have a Disney 'nearby' in Paris, I would go for Universal, as it is something unlike anything in Europe.
  15. Holy sh.... Wow, I can't believe I forgot how awesome this trip in just 1,5 year. Thanks for putting these PTR together, and (again) thanks for the trip! Just amazing.
  16. Just sent mine in, it took me a while, but I wanted to rank all 112 of them. Here's what came out on top: 1. Montu - Busch Gardens Africa 2. Goliath - Six Flags Magic Mountain 3. Talon - Dorney Park 4. Flight Deck - California's Great America ** Best Wooden Coaster (Boulder Dash - Lake Compounce) 5. Dueling Dragons - Universal Islands of Adventure 6. Alpengeist - Busch Gardens Europe 7. Tatsu - Six Flags Magic Mountain 8. Batman: The Ride - Six Flags Magic Mountain 9. Kumba - Busch Gardens Africa 10.Nitro - Six Flags Great Adventure Lol, I just noticed, all of my coasters have Box-track (9 B&Ms, 1 Giovanola)
  17. There is no way for us regular people to do this. In the past, promo-videos of some large coasters like Voyage where made in something that is known as NoLimits XL, which is supposed to have a larger template, but is only available for companies who want to advertise their ride. We'll all just have to wait for NL2
  18. Wow, I never thought they would get this finished in, well, ever. Looking forward to the full (in depth) coverage.
  19. KumbaK really makes the worst seats ever. Their trains may look cool, but the seats themselves are really uncomfortable. I'd hoped the park would pay the extra dollar and some decent trains from Vekoma.
