I personally have not watched any webcams, but many people on some park fan forums have reported coasters such as Valravn and Gatekeeper testing. Don't get too excited though, Ohio's governor does not seem ready to announce any re-open date for amusement parks or reduced restrictions on mass gatherings. -

Training doesn't take that long, less than a weekend honestly. Source: Former ride op here lol. Bigger concern is the other preseason prep, test cycles, getting rides approved by the state (which laid off all state inspectors during the pandemic). There is more to it than just learning to operate a ride, deep fryer or POS system. -

Yes, but also no. The restriction on mass gatherings is still in place, until that's lifted there will most likely be no opening date for either park. -

I'll quietly keep my fingers crossed a new gen Vekoma makes its way stateside finally. Lech looks amazing and wouldn't mind having one within a days drive. Or whatever the wonderful nonsense of track Energylandia currently has under construction from Vekoma. -

^Yes, it's best to scale back any expectations for 2021 and then be pleasantly surprised they continue with their plans instead of being disappointed if you have to wait till 2022 or 2023 now. Losing a month or 2 of the season may seem like not a lot but remember things will not instantly be back to normal and parks will still take significant revenue hits with limited capacity and attendance for the time being, maybe for the next 12 months or more. -

Maybe fastlane would just give you the right to not make any reservation for a ride. Could be another way to promote it... -

Holiday World didn't choose Sunday, the governor of Indiana chose Sunday for the first day of Phase 3, they're just setting their opening date for the first allowed day. There is always a hidden meaning! This probably means HW is getting a super awesome RMC next year! -

Honestly? For me personally I will have to see what is in place before deciding if I am going to visit this season or not. With the season pass extended through Dec 2021 I am in no rush. If I personally feel I am low risk and the park has done it's best to protect it's employees and guests within reason then I may, just to get out and enjoy some sun. But, again I will have to see what the restrictions are, safety measures in place, and if I feel comfortable. It'll be a personal choice lol. Smaller parks I may feel more comfortable with, Waldameer, Indiana Beach, KK... But if part of the parks policy to handle this is to have guests sign waivers I would be comfortable doing it personally. -

^Agreed every park (and business) is taking a risk, but so is every person who visits and where is that line drawn? If a person voluntarily visits a park, gets COVID-19 and ultimately dies, should the park be held responsible? I personally don't believe so, but you know, in our society people will sue. People always sue. -

On some CP fan site forums people are popping up saying they've been hired in with Mid to Late May start dates to get things rolling. So it looks like the park is still actively hiring which is a positive. Obviously no one knows when they will open but at least it's looking like the park itself is operating with the intention of a Mid to Late June opening by bringing in the seasonal staff. Being someone who has worked every day through this, I assume the restrictions of 10 or more people wouldn't apply to most of the activities that can be performed daily for training, pre-season. But, you don't need more than 10 people at a ride to cycle and train, you shouldn't need more than 10 people in a gift shop, warehouse, food stand to train. My only concern would be the housing and how that will be handled, especially if there is an outbreak amongst the employees. Also, as a former ride op, it literally takes about 15 mins to learn to operate a ride, the rest of the time is literally just cycling it for "practice" or to get the required amount of pre-season cycling in. Numerous times through my 5 summers operating rides we would be sent to a ride we never operated before about 30 mins before park opening and be fine by the time the park opened. -

Fingers crossed. This park has been on my radar since Lost Coaster opened. I sadly never found the time to make it out cause I wasn't at a "travel alone" comfort level yet. Now, I say F**k it and travel alone all the time. I no longer allow other people being lame and not wanting to go on trips to limit my fun! lol I am a survivor of losing my cherished homepark of GL and I will like to help support this park and get out there this summer or next, depending on when things are allowed to open. Plus, I will admittedly be hesitant to visit larger parks when things begin to re-open, so smaller, family owned parks may be my summer 2020 plan. -

I will definitely make the 5 hour drive to support this park. Amazing to see someone step up and take on the challenge of keeping the park going! -
^Dude I spent 2 days at Niagara Falls in 2019 with my brother and nephews and I wanted to make this an afternoon activity. I was denied cause we just spent 2 days at Canada's Wonderland and my brother was "parked out." He's not as into the hobby as I am. He was the driver so we didn't go and we drove past the park with sad face. I was planning a trip this June back to Niagara and penciled this in for an afternoon. I was checking their website for their 2020 hours weekly to lock down dates. Annnnnd BOOM. Closed. It's heartbreaking. Not as heartbreaking as when GL closed as that was my home park and was an essential part of my childhood thru teen years and 5 summers of employment, but man. Heartbreaking. Please support your local small parks when 2020 resumes. They're gonna need it!

If this park is saved and we end up having some sort of 2020 season I think my plan this year is going to be support these smaller local/family owned parks. This, HW, KK, AA/SA. If my platinum pass is good through 2021 now I can hold off for Point and KI. Smaller parks are going to need the love more than the corporate parks. Really looking forward to an official announcement. -

This will be the 2022 Capex after missing out on the 2020 season. In all seriousness, I'm sure landscaping Orion was an easy budget cut with whats going on with COVID19 and cutting unnecessary expenses. I'm positive it'll happen, it's just a matter of when now. -

I'm really keeping my fingers crossed that the Koch family is the team to buy and operate this park. To me, keeping it local Indiana management, creating value for a season pass that is good for both parks is the best path forward for this park to succeed. -
