  1. I mean it was a Togo stand up. So it was awfully awesome. I rode King Cobra and it's sister Shockwave at KD. Neither ride was mind blowing but neither ride was absolutely awful either. I have had much worse experiences on B&M stand-ups.
  2. I appreciate that 2020 is ending with topper track being debated again...
  3. Pop* And it was a Squirt. Seriously an underrated citrus soda.
  4. This is awesome news. Was not expecting a "new" coaster to be added to the parks line up so soon.
  5. ^According to RCDB Rampage cost 4.3mil in 1998 or about $6.9 mil today adjusted for inflation. I'll throw out my arbitrary "fingers crossed for a new gen Vekoma" post here.. One day it'll happen.
  6. ^There is also the much smaller freespin version that we've seen pop up at Adventureland in Iowa. So that really wouldn't be a concern. I am just super pumped to see this park continue to succeed and grow.
  7. Definitely a hybrid hybrid. Tallest and fastest hybrid hybrid!
  8. ^The Volcano was mentioned in a Plain Dealer article that talked about future plans for SFWoA after the Sea World purchase. I do not know if there was ever actually any concept art made for it, or if it was just one of those things that people say to the press.
  9. It's always cool to find these kind of history gems for parks. I wish iPhones were a thing when I worked at Geauga Lake. There was always so many cool concept art hangings in the offices and in the maintenance shops, along with cool old blue prints. Would've loved to be able to snap some pics and have stuff to post. Thanks!
  10. Of the coasters at SFMM I would consider for relocation Scream is on the list. It has always been just there.. Will it be removed and relocated? Probably not, but if it is I doubt it would go to Darian Lake. I could see it at some of the larger SF parks that could use a ride capable of 3 train operation. Maybe even SFGAm or SFoT.
  11. I mean it was talked about when it was announced a year or 2 ago. Not much has happened since. I'm sure this will be the big thing to watch this off season as many parks will not be announcing anything major for 2021. This is not just a theme park but will also be a waterpark. I do hope with the SLC they've contacted Vekoma for some new-gen vest restraint trains and maybe some trackwork like what was done on Nor'Easter at Morey's.
  12. I seem to recall years ago Darian Lake (under Herschend management at the time?) sending out surveys that included options for what was described at the time to be an RMC treatment. It obviously never happened but this wouldn't shock me. Predator can be fun if it was smoothed out and slightly reprofiled to take advantaged of the steel track. More air, steeper banking, etc. IF it was a full re-track it could make it a enjoyable and fun experience. Even if it is just small sections to smooth it out I think it'll be a win/win if a new train (or two hopefully ) comes with it.
  13. Track work is completed: Source: Reddit Looks interesting, definitely a compact smaller layout. Will be interesting to see if more smaller parks pick up this version. Apologies to the mods if I can not post reddit links.
  14. I'm hoping someone picks up Kangaroo. It is one of my favorite flats. It isn't all that mechanically complicated so I imagine it can't be too awfully expensive to keep it going. This is just lazy budget cuts. Fingers crossed Knoebels swoops in and buys it. It would be perfect there. But in general if any park buys it and keeps it going I would be happy. Kennywood has nosedived in the last few years. It's a shame really. My first visit was in 2001 and I fell in love with the park. I went a few times a summer from Cleveland. I went last season for the first time since about 2013 and it was just so different. I was really disappointed in every aspect of the park. Operations, food quality, Potato Patch.. With this news I really don't see myself going back anytime soon. Maybe to credit whore a new coaster whenever another one is installed but that's about it.
  15. Being a CLE local I've been keeping an eye on these projects. The housing development currently under construction on the old Sea World side also looks very nice, and in an area with excellent schools. I may end up being a super nerd and look into buying one of the houses there. lol I lost hope of GL coming back about a year or so after the parks closure. I held onto some hope that a Indiana Beach type scenario could play out but I knew CF would never allow a buyer who wanted to rebuild. I then hoped for a small mix use development with a small FEC to be built. Saving the Big Dipper. But again, I knew CF really wouldn't go for anything that could maybe grow. Even if in no way it could compete. Just didn't think CF would go for it. This is a good compromise. I'm happy something is being done and that it honors the history of the park. It really could be a beautiful location. I hope there is plans to keep a green space with maybe some trails around the lake itself.
  16. I personally enjoy museums as much as rides. I go into Town Hall at CP every visit. I stopped inside each one at Dollywood and tried to take in as many shows as possible in my two days there. Thinking "people want rides, not museums" is pretty darn ignorant and just shows no understanding how a well rounded park is operated. There needs to be something for everyone, not just enthusiasts who neglected their deodorant again.
  17. This is probably more of a "let's see if we can make some 4th quarter money" experiment more so than anything else. I see the park being mostly staffed by the full time crews from CP, WoF, MiA, CGA, etc.. Like how they were pulled in from other parks for CP. I doubt there is a huge investment here. May also be more of a "what can we do to appease passholders?" type of event. As like you said, I'm sure not many non-passholders will attend. With the park being closed all season, I would not be surprised if this does better than we assume. I can easily see sell outs if the weather is reasonable depending on what the limited capacity is. I'm sure locals are getting a little stir crazy to get back out into the park.
  18. I wonder if they'll be able to sell 3 more towers with these to Hershey.
  19. That giant thick tree trunk of a support in the middle is very interesting. Little thicc boi Really looking forward to a POV of this ride when it's available.
  20. I thought this for years. No way is brown meat water on noodles should be called chili. Then I ate it, hated it. Ate it again, hated it. For some reason ate it a third time and was like "meh it's not bad" then I kept eating it. Now I love the stuff. It's still brown meat water, just now it's delicious brown meat water to me. If it's good enough for Anthony Bourdain it's good enough for me!
  21. Rumors like this pop up often enough. The same thing was said about Valravn and CW. CP stole it! I would believe that the funding and cap-ex budget would change parks more so than the actual design was flat out cut, copied and pasted from one park or another. This isn't an old Vekoma Clone or an RMC Raptor clone. Most large investments like custom layout roller coasters are 2-5 year projects depending on scope, scale, and budget involved.
  22. One of my favorite things about this ride so far is that I noticed even the plastic over wrap on the trains is themed. Pictures I saw have "INGen" printed in black letters in the side. Kinda cool to take themeing that far for the ride.
  23. Pretty cool, not terribly priced. I'll have to see if any make it to Oct 5th and sold online. While I hated Vortex my nephew loved it for some reason and he just earned his Eagle Scout so this would be a cool little gift for him for that.
  24. At least us Browns fans wait till the bye week to completely give up on our team... before getting hurt again every Sunday. It's been my Sunday fall tradition since 1999! :audible sigh: KI does have one of the largest season pass bases in the chain and fall weekends is traditionally the busiest weekends for both Ohio parks.
