  1. I wouldn't call posting signs along a queue giving bios of comic characters theming either. lol
  2. Viable as in.. is it open? Yes, all gates are open throughout Halloweekends.
  3. ^Not just after Labor Day, they use their staff before Memorial Day too.
  4. Source Sale is "highly unlikely" per Wells Fargo. From the article "Analyst Tim Conder comments "We had an opportunity to speak with FUN management post close 10.03.19. While no specific comment was made regarding the Reuters article of SIX making a bid for FUN, management did state that the company is NOT looking to be sold." Fingers crossed! lol
  5. Six Flags would quickly ruin everything Ouimet and crew have built up in the last decade or so since taking over for Kinzel. This would be very very bad for the CF parks and the quality would go to s**t quick. Gone would be unique coasters and attractions and in would be a ton of 4D Freespin clones. I would hate this, hate it very much.
  6. I should re-word my warning. I, as a local love weekdays in May. I just wanted anyone planning a trip to be aware of what to expect with staffing trends over the past 2-3 seasons. I am 100% not saying avoid it like the plague (Halloweekend Saturdays) I just want anyone traveling and coming in to be aware.
  7. Is it to late to start the rumor it's being relocated to Kentucky Kingdom?
  8. Not at all bummed to see this go. I really didn't enjoy the ride at all. My buddy pointed out they had a funeral set up again within their Haunt decorations. Same one they set up for Firehawk. We debated if it was this or Invertigo. Glad to see it was Vortex. Also, won't be surprised if Invertigo is removed within 5 years. I'll throw my hat in the ring now for a Mack multi-looper in 2023. I do hope they reuse the station though. That would be nice. 3 coasters that have all used the same station! But CF has a love for wide open stations and Vortex's station may just be a little too cramped for a future addition.
  9. ^Just be aware those Mid-May weekdays can see drastically short staffing on rides as well as food and drink stands. A few days I attended this year the only freestyle stand open was by Steel Vengeance.
  10. I believe with this new process you can also process your pass at either the Marina Gate or Resort gate. But please call and check before doing this as I'm only like 85% positive lol.
  11. They will also take your pic at the turnstile with a webcam style camera. I watched them do this to quite a few people all summer.
  12. ^^Exactly, KI has a HUGE pass base that comes out in big numbers for new coasters. Look at the crowds it drew for Banshee, Diamondback and Mystic Timbers. Two of which didn't break any records. Lose the mentality that coasters are built for enthusiasts and you'll understand more of the business decisions parks make. Why 300' is just as marketable to locals as 310 or 330'. Would making this ride 326ft tall really effect the experience all that much? Enthusiasts are the only ones complaining (and not all of us) that this ride isn't setting records. I'm sure this ride is helping season pass growth and that's all the park cares about right now until it opens. Personally I'm stoked that this ride seems to be designed to be nonstop action from drop to brakes with some low to the ground elements. I think this has potential to be the most flat out FUN ride in Ohio. There I said it! lol
  13. That's a twist... Yeah, so there's really no reason to ever look 6 pages into a google search, but if you search the word "gwazi," every single result on the first 6 pages (I'm not looking any further) uses the word in reference to the roller coaster. Absolutely nothing about African folklore. Something even more fun to try, type "gwazi" into google translate. Translate the word from Swahili to English. According to google, it translates to "gum." That explains the purple track... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_legendary_creatures_(G) Nothing on here either. So, it seems like a lot of enthusiasts are getting butt hurt over a name/mythical beast BGT MAY have completely made up. lol That is kinda hilarious to me.
  14. I doubt the average park guest knows or cares what Gwazi means. Or Kumba or Montu for that matter. It's just a name for a ride.
  15. People called this thing RMC Gwazi for months and months and it's officially named Iron Gwazi and they loose their minds! ::Sigh:: I haven't been to BGT since I moved back to Cleveland from Tampa in 2009. I really need to get back!
  16. Looking forward to full POVs of these rides. 2020 is looking to be a huge year for the chain and I'm super excited for the direction they're going!
  17. Not really. Rides like Raptor and Gatekeeper tend to have no lines (like always) in the evenings. But the Maverick, Steel Vengeance, Valravn don't really see a change.
  18. Friday nights have been getting a lot busier and aren't nearly as good as they were even 5 years ago. But, in general the crowds are more manageable. But even last season a few Friday evenings I went some of the Haunt lines hit 1.5-2 hours and the usual suspect rides hit 2-3 hour waits. Don't go on a Friday especially with mild weather and expect it to be dead like in the past. Must be that the secret got out. lol I admit that it's been 4 years since I've been out there on a Friday, so thanks for clarifying. I believe that they've also axed a few more rides that used to be open on Friday nights, right? Yea, it seems like more rides are scheduled closures now. Also, I'm not saying definitely don't go on Fridays, just don't get there and be shocked if it's a lot busier then it used to be.

  20. Yes, are you new? Edit: I am also someone who prefers MF over Steel Vengeance. And MF is not even my favorite giga if we wanna start to get all technical. Steel Vengeance is a one and done for me most days while I'll ride Millennium Force 3-5 times per visit.
  21. Texas is a big state, and I've only been there once. But I would also research flights in and out of different airports. Meaning flying into Dallas and out of San Antonio for example. And then find a rental car company that doesn't charge a fee for picking up and dropping off and different airports. Cause back tracking to a point of origin airport in Texas can be a pain in the butt! lol
  22. Also, not sure their plans for Sawmill as nothing has been announced, but Breakers was a $50 million dollar announced renovation. Not sure if that included the new wing or not. But with Sawmill being a hotel, golf course, conference center, marina, shops and restaurants it could easily be a project on the same scale or bigger to get that resort to "CF Standards." So while it is possible Valleyfair could have a surprise announcement still up their sleeve, I wouldn't expect it to be huge or a new ride. Maybe confirming an additional new event like Monster Jam for 2020 or new restaurant or something like that.
  23. For those disappointed, they still haven't opened their ride for 2019 that they announced LAST August. Why should they invest in another ride? WCR will be their 2020 ride. Sucks but that's that. Also improving events like HiTP and Frightfest is what drives repeat business, that's why a lot of CF parks keep adding them.
  24. But secret hidden meanings and clues! This is obviously a clue!
