Tayto Park Discussion Thread
CSLKennyNI replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Interview with Park Owner http://blooloop.com/feature/tayto-park-irelands-theme-park/ He seemed rather secretive over the 2017 addition - even though we already know it is a log flume. Unless it is some other new attraction he is talking about. Or is it that the flume has some sort of special feature? Interesting that he said they are looking at something else major for 2018. Has the previously announced 2019 coaster been brought forwards or is this another addition before that? Interesting times for Tayto they certainly seem to be doing really well. -

From a screenshot of a YouTube vlog (Channel: Chris Franklin). View of Log Flume construction at the end of November 2016. All that is visible over the fence is this building which most likely will be the station. The Flume is to open in April 2017, most likely when the season starts on 7th April. Interested to see what they are getting for 5.7 million euro. -

Seems odd they aren't delaying opening. Will they seriously open a already small second gate park with part of it closed up and smelling like a barbecue? Hardly expect it to be rebuilt that quickly. Would be great it they could though! -

New theming rock work is currently being added to the top of the building. What else they will do is currently unknown. -

Concerning report from Looopings. http://www.looopings.nl/weblog/6442/Toekomst-van-gigantische-houten-achtbaan-onzeker.html?coockie=accepted Looopings said: Future of giant wooden roller coaster uncertain The future of the spectacular wooden roller coaster Colossos in the German Heide Park amusement park remains uncertain. The sixty meter high rollercoaster was closed in late July for work. Whether the job is running again in 2017, the park can not say. "We know it yet," board member Sabrina de Carvalho said in an interview with fansite. "We are working hard, but it's looking a complex issue. There are many measurements and computations." Heide Park consults own words with "dozens of experts" on the issue. Colossos, opened in 2001, the last season was fifteen years old. The track is 1344 meters long, with a top speed of 110 kilometers per hour. Incidentally, in Europe even more impressive wooden roller coaster stopped until further notice: Wildfire is closed on Swedish Kolmarden park due to problems with the license.
