  1. The new queue goes in through the hole in the building which used to be for the Phantasialand Jet (Monorail). Over a new bridge under the second drop and then it connects to the existing staircase in the building which the original queue passes. The queue just goes down the stairs and then it takes the route of the original queue.- hope that makes sense! The park have been retheming River Quest to make it fit in with Klugheim so it makes sense that it now is accessed from the Klugheim area rather than as previously entered from the China Town square.
  2. Wonderful theming. The above images show the new entrance for River Quest, which now in Klugheim itself next to Raik's entrance.
  3. Maybe they shouldn't have let it reach such a state that they had to close it down in the first place? Perhaps. But at least Merlin's doing something about it. Still better than leaving it to essentially rot. As I said before, nothing but good can come out of this, eventually. Merlin isn't doing anything at the moment though. The ride has been shut since July and they haven't done any work to it. It's hard to believe that this isn't anything other than they just didn't want to spend the money required. People are right to be cautious considering Merlin's previous TLC endeavours have mostly been an excuse to get rid of attractions eg. Sub terra and CATCF at Towers and Loggers Leap at Thorpe - which they said would be closed for a year for refurbishment and then that never materialised. However I personally think they have no choice but to repair Colossus it stands out unlike the SBNO attractions in AT which are easily hidden and don't draw attention. People will start to be enthusiastic when work starts and we know for certain it is coming back next year. And as said above they should never have let it get in such a bad state.
  4. The 'Something is coming' is most likely the return of the Big 6 challenge.
  5. Rocks, rocks and more rocks. From Phantasialand's Facebook. Some more new theming in Klugheim.
  6. Can say the same for Arthur and The Invisibles http://www.boxofficemojo.com/movies/?page=intl&id=arthurandtheinvisibles.htm Made a little over 15m in the US and Europa made a whole land about it. I believe the books the film is based on are very popular in France and as Europa is on thr German-French border a lot of their visitors from France so in it made sense for their clientele. They aren't trying to attract Americans. While the Wicker Man on the other hand doesn't really make sense at all. Yes it is a classic British film from the 70s but do enough people in the UK know of it for that to be an attractive IP? From a theming prospective it could look impressive with a large wicker man in the area that the coaster goes around or even through. Thirteen was a bit of a dark theme for a family coaster but pagans setting people on fire is on a whole new level for a family ride theme.
  7. Lane IP, the company that represents Merlin on trademark applications, had applied to trademark 'The Wicker Man'. Most likely this is related to SW8 given that a worker when the Flume was being deconstructed tweeted saying it was making way for a Wicker Man ride. (the tweet was later removed) https://euipo.europa.eu/eSearch/#details/trademarks/016221269 They're hardly going to name the coaster 'The Wicker Man' are they? Some people aren't pleased as SW8 was expected to be more of a family coaster and the Wicker Man film is not very family friendly. People are fearing a repeat of the marketing for Thirteen. Shall be interesting to see what happens. The Wicker Man film is owned by LionsGate which also own the SAW franchise so Merlin do have previously worked with them.
  8. I agree there. I doubt they'd keep referring to it as River Quest in these blog posts if that wasn't going to be it's name when it reopens in April. River Quest is also rather well known a name change might confuse people.
  9. The Viking Voyage - Log Flume Announcement Tayto Park has officially announced their new for 2017 Viking themed log flume called 'The Viking Voyage'. No official opening date has been set for 'Viking Voyage' however Tayto Park reopens for its 7th season on 7th April. All that has been confirmed is the ride will be open this summer. Construction on the €5.7 million attraction is ongoing. The founder of Tayto Park reckons it’s “one of a kind”. Raymond Coyle said: “We are delighted to announce our new and exciting attraction ‘The Viking Voyage' at the Park. The water ride will be a first for the Meath attraction “We are dedicated to bringing cutting-edge attractions to Tayto Park and this particular ride is one of a kind. We are very excited to unveil it to the public in the coming months.” The flumeride will feature a whopping 1.7million litres of water. Following previous comments that the ride would be extensively themed the announcement today confirmed the ride will be accompanied by an impressive Viking Village area which will feature five replica Viking ships and 20 life size Vikings. Staff have been learning to use building methods from the Viking Age to create a really authentic experience, with over 10,000 tonnes of concrete and 500 tonnes of steel gone into the construction of the ride so far. https://www.thesun.ie/news/677147/tayto-park-reveal-new-water-adventure-ride-the-viking-voyage-at-the-park-which-will-be-latest-addition-to-meath-theme-park-this-summer/
  10. http://www.fabbrirides.com/used-amusement-rides-roller-coasters-flume-rides/ Tsunami is not the only coaster leaving. Tornado has been put up for sale too.
  11. https://freizeitparknewsnrw.de/news...ys-phantasialand-feiert-seinen-50-geburtstag/ To mark the park's 50th birthday Phantasialand will have 4 celebration days in the summer. For 4 Saturdays, 2 in July and 2 in August, the park will be open from 9am to midnight! With extra entertainment and a fireworks display each night.
  12. From Phantasialand's Facebook page. They posted this photograph along with a caption saying their off season mission to make their finished attractions even more finished is underway. Seems Chiapas is also getting some new theming work. Together with the last phase of the River Quest's retheme/refurbishment, the second phase of redoing the rockwork around Black Mamba, additional theming in Klugheim and construction for 2018 they are certainly busy this off season.
  13. Phantasialand have posted these sneak peak images on Facebook with a caption saying that they are adding more detail to the theming of Klugheim.
  14. ROOKBURGH Phantasialand have applied to copyright the name: Rookburgh. Could this be the name of the new area/attraction currently being built on the site of Race for Atlantis? However the name does sound very Klugheim-ish/Medieval so some on the forum PhantaFriends are suggesting two things: 1. River Quest might be renamed as part of its Klugheim retheme. 2. A Klugheim themed hotel with possible sites being the land the park own behind Kaiserplatz and the temporary plant wall in Klugheim, or on part of the mystery car park - for the 2017 the park has built behind Ling Bao a massive dedicated area for parking buses which would free up some space on the current car parks. Or it could be be something else entirely! Hopefully some more details will come soon or when the park opens next month. http://euipo.europa.eu/eSearch/#details/owners/144666
  15. http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/news/scottish-news/mds-tsunami-rollercoaster-dismantled-eight-9923446 Tsunami has left the park and is up for sale. Shall be interesting to see if anyone actually buys it considering its age and what happened 8 months ago.
  16. Gold Rush trains. From Slagharen's Facebook.
  17. You really shouldn't get your hopes up. There really isn't much chance of that happening. They just installed 2 coasters in one year after building none for 10 years. While I doubt it will be another 10 year wait I can't see any new coasters for the next few years - at least until TOTNH is uo for replacement. Unless this new area is a kids area and includes a kiddie coaster like Europa Park's Baaaaa Express or Hansa Park's Der kleine Zar I'd go as far as saying there is an absolutely 0% chance of a coaster here. The next attractions will almost certainly be family rides as Phantasialand isn't a thrill park.
  18. This off season the park are continuing to add new theming to River Quest. This is the last phase of the ride's refurbishment. The new Klugheim style rockwork looks great! From Phantasialand's blog Mission Off-Season. As RQ is now part of Klugheim, are the horns a slight nod towards Taron?

  20. Tobi from the Phantafriends forum, who created and updated his model of Klugheim to show how construction was progressing, has started a new model! This time to document Phantasialand's new construction site, on the former site of Race for Atlantis. No details are known about what is being built but presumably this will be a 2018 attraction(s). At the moment though it is literally just a hole in the ground. Really intrigued as to what it will be. Will it be an expansion of the Fantasy or Berlin themes, or an entirely new themed area? What sort of rides will it feature? Hoping for a modern dark ride. The site looking towards Maus au Chocolat. Showing the concrete pile walls. The site looking the other way towards the road and Winjas on the right. Diggers and trucks are still working away removing soil and rubble. The raised pathway in the middle is for trucks to drive out of the pit. The blue line represent a pile wall which is currently being poured. The white areas show where the drills are currently operating. Tobi is using a small figure of a builder to show how deep the pit is. He guesses it is around 5 meters deep at the road side and 3 meters deep at the side of Maus au Chocolat.
