The wood seems to be higher than the track according to those images so the sides will be enclosed - which would suggest you won't see much anyway. Also enclosing it might necessary due to the park's sound restrictions. As there are no sound barrier walls in that area. I imagine people on the ride on those hills would make a lot of noise. -

Latest from the Phantafriends forum. As Tobi's art work shows the lifthills of RAIK are being enclosed in a wooden building, in the same style as the new River Quest lift tower. The base of the River Quest lift tower has also been themed with basalt rock and it can be assumed the steel lower half of the building enclosing RAIK will also have this rock work. I wonder will there be a roof to this building - fully enclosing RAIK's lifthills? -

^ Hate to break it to you there is a connection. He opened the ride and visited Phantasialand a couple of times. Anyway it is just called Colorado Adventure now. The 'Michael Jackson' part of the name was dropped a few years back. -

I would think Taron is open by June. The area is almost done, Taron is done and Raik doesn't take long to build. Unless there are technical problems in testing. -

Thank goodness was rather worried that Raik would spoil the look of River Quest. This also means RQ will have a short tunnel section before the lift. In general I am really looking forward to seeing the completed River Quest. All the theming work that has been going on looks great. Each drop has had work done, the whirlpool section and the tower. Hopefully someone posts some good photos when the ride reopens on 19th March. (Hopefully Taron won't be far behind in opening!) -

I would think soon. (Although now the park is closed the whole thing is very secretive unless they say we won't know). Last Monday rumour has it that trains were delivered. An admin on the Phantafriends forum says he saw a number of lorries enter the park. So I guess soon. -

They have revealed more of the image so we can now see the lapbars. As compared to previously only seeing the small corner of one sticking out. No one has missed anything. Or did I miss people's ability to see through stone? -

Phantasialand have posted this. So by Friday we should know a bit more. Could be a photo of the trains? http://magazin.phantasialand.de/zeit-der-entdeckung/ -

^ The Hollywood Boat Tour is safe for a while I think. The building it is in also hosts the park's Dinner Show Fantissima. The show had quite a decent refurbishment before the 2015 season so they won't be demolishing it any time soon. Only thing that could happen is a retheme or refurbishment but with all these big projects do they have any money left?? -

On the Phantasialand forum Phantafriends there has been some talk about strong rumours that the Race to Atlantis simulator (housed in the epcot style dome) will be demolished after the Winter season. A number of people claim to have been told by staff to ride it this winter as it is their last chance. Considering there are only 2 weeks left in the season I assume a official announcement must be coming soon? Also there has been construction on going for the past couple of months on the site of the former Smokey Diggers Camp - rumours suggest the administration and event buildings which are currently behind Race to Atlantis are going to be relocated there. This would open up the whole area between Old Berlin and Wuze Town, an area around the same size of Klugheim, for their next major project after Taron? There seems to be a 2 year cycle at the moment with starting major projects Maus - 2010, Chiapas - 2012, Taron - 2014, ???? - 2016? Only rumours but it will be interesting to see if this happens - I really hope it does as I think the Atlantis ride is awful and will be glad to see its demise but also the park have no space to expand so an area of this size would be greatly beneficial. Means nothing good like Temple of the Night Hawk and Hollywood Tour will have to be demolished to make way for new things. I wonder will it be a new theme area or an extension of Berlin or Fantasy and what sort of ride it could be, hopefully a good dark ride? If this does come about all I know is it will be awesome like all of Phantasialand's work!!! -

As part of Taron works River Quest is being refurbished. From Looopings http://www.looopings.nl/weblog/4614/Phantasialand-vernieuwt-wildwaterbaan-River-Quest.html "Phantasialand is engaged in the construction of a startling new roller coaster, but that's not all. This winter also restored whitewater River Quest. For the fourteen year old attraction is a big renovation on schedule. In addition, both the technique and the theme underway. It is intended that the "rapid river" thematically later is better suited to launch rollercoaster Taron, which opens in 2016. Both attractions are in the area Mystery theme.River Quest, which opened in 2002, consists of a large medieval castle with a vertical lift and three floors full of rapids and whirlpools. The renovation will last until spring. Phantasialand assumes that the water orbit on March 19 is operational again, confirms a spokeswoman at Looopings. During the winter the attraction is closed anyway. When Taron coaster opens, is not yet known." The rockwork on the lift tower has already been taken down according a building site update from a german forum.
