  1. Anything that happens at the CNE during its run in late-August always makes the news. Maybe they are getting confused with the Niagara Falls log flume that always appears there. It could quite possibly be the case.
  2. I can confirm that there was no large roller coaster at the CNE other than the Crazy Mouse and Blitzer in 2016 or 2017. North American Midway bought the Crazy Mouse in 2006 and the Blitzer (originally called Nitro in its debut season) in 2012. If you would like to see photos of the midway from those years, I can provide them.
  3. Not sure about permanent parks, but I know there's at least one (and probably more) traveling. I rode on at the MD state fair just this past summer. Orbiter was one of last three known Huss Sky Lab/Giant Enterprise rides operating Worldwide. It is quite sad to see it removed without much notice. But at least it had a great 37 year run and created lots of memories for park guests. The Huss Skylab/Giant Enterprise was larger than the traditional Enterprise ride as it features 15 4-passenger gondolas for a total capacity of 60 passengers. There are indeed quite a few standard Enterprise models (both Huss and Schwarzkopf) operating at some amusement parks and travelling fairs around the World, but even they are slowly disappearing.
  4. The Drop Tower featured in the artist rendition is the Drop Tower at Canada's Wonderland, that is why you see a bit of Leviathan in the corner. I am glad to see that California's Great America is re-painting their Drop Tower. I hope Canada's Wonderland does the same with theirs as it would be nice for it to fit within the Medieval Faire section of the park.

What new-for-2019 ride or coaster are you most looking forward to? Yukon Striker at Canada's Wonderland. 13. Name the first totally middle-of-the-road (not bad/not great) park that comes to mind. Darien Lake. 14. You're in Orlando and magically have a 1-hour ERT session on 1 coaster of your choice at any park in the city. You choose... White Lightning at Fun Spot America because it looks like a fun-filled wooden roller coaster. 15. Holiday In The Park vs. Winterfest. Who reigns supreme? (rcdb will help you) El Toro. 35. Have you ever been hit with something (loose change/a tree/vomit/etc) while riding something? Yes, I've been hit with loose change. 36. Skywarps: credits or no? State your case. Yes, because it only has drive tires near the base of the ride, allowing the train to move by gravity along the rest of the track. It would be nice to see a launched version introduced to a park one day. 37. Turkey legs: nah or yaaaaassssss? Nah. 38. What is the most recent B&M that you rode? Leviathan at Canada's Wonderland. 39. You can eat nothing but corn dogs, churros or funnel cake for the next 48 hours, which do you choose? Funnel Cakes. 40. Post a great on-ride shot of you from 2018. (DO IT!) Me on the Comet at the Great Escape with my hands in the air!
  8. That is correct. It would make Holiday in the Park highly marketable for those who do not live in the area of Darien Lake. It is a benefit that most parks do not have. Let's just wait and see what happens.
  9. Here's my list of roller coasters that I have been on that are now gone. Thankfully not too many. Defunct: -Toronto Island Monster at Centreville Amusement Park -Stinger at Dorney Park -Firehawk at Kings Island Relocated: -SkyRider at Canada's Wonderland

  11. Canada's Wonderland shared a construction photo of Yukon Striker on Facebook. The Immlemann inversion is now complete. The zero-g roll is up next! Photo credit: Canada's Wonderland via Facebook
  12. Here is an updated list of the North American wooden coasters that I have been on so far. 14. I highly agree! It was nice to see a piece of the defunct Rolling Thunder while walking along the way to Zumanjaro Drop of Doom during my first visit to the park this past July. I also enjoyed looking at all the historical plaques and the historical "hidden gems" during my visit.
  15. Here is a piece of Canada's Wonderland history that Grace Peacock, Director of Communications shared on Twitter today. It is quite neat to see photos like this!
  16. Vortex is indeed open for the remainder of the season. But the water below is drained.
  17. Canada's Wonderland has Behemoth which is a Hyper and Leviathan which is a giga coaster. Both do provide different experiences as Behemoth is about the airtime and Leviathan is about the speed. As I have visited Kings Island a couple of times during the past four years, I feel a giga would be a perfect fit for the park and compliment their already awesome roller coaster collection. I really need to get back sometime soon to ride Mystic Timbers as it was under construction the last time I was there!

  19. If it makes you feel any better Bill, the previous coaster before that (a little more than a month ago) was Leviathan at Canada's Wonderland.
  20. Looney Lagoon at the Erin Fall Fair in Erin, Ontario! It is a very small but fun spinning coaster by Wisdom Rides! This unit of Looney Lagoon is owned by Robertson Amusements of Orangeville, Ontario.
  21. I hope it isn't Firehawk either. I just love that flying coaster as it is quite an adrenaline rush! As for the other coasters rumoured for removal, I would be sad to see them go too as I greatly enjoyed all of them during my July 2014 and June 2016 visits. Unfortunately nothing lasts forever, but thankfully I do have some wonderful photos and memories riding the coasters rumoured for removal at Kings Island during my two visits to the park.

  25. Keeping with the tradition of not including my home park, another ride I have been on during its debut season is the Time Machine at Seabreeze Amusement Park during my first visit to the park last week on my three day WNY park trip. The Time Machine is a custom designed Super Miami model ride. It gave a great ride and the restraints were very comfortable. Here is an update: 2015: -Cedar Creek Flyers at Dorney Park 2017: -Time Machine at Seabreeze 2018: -Tourbillon at La Ronde -Pandemonium at The Great Escape -Cyborg Cyber Spin at Six Flags Great Adventure That is my list for now!
