  1. Anyone think Vekoma planned this all along? Sell a bunch of crap trains and restraints and 20 years down the line sell them new trains and restraints to make a ride bearable. All jokes aside I kinda want to try out Vekoma's restraints because T3's were so so so bad. I didn't come off my first SLC with a raging headache but with my legs numb and my crotch completely smashed.
  2. The base trains aren't designed for someone under 46 inches, I'm thinking it's that simple... sure you could do some work arounds here and there but BGW didn't want Mini Millennium Flyers and you can only get so low with Gwazi's trains. The park and GCI could probably lower it to 44 inches or lower if they wanted to, but it's way better to stay on the safe side and have a kid wait a year before they can ride InvadR
  3. It seems so weird it doesn't have the 90 degree snap like Dragster or Ka, it's so smooth transitioning up to the top and honestly looks ridiculously fluid. I thought the launch took pretty long to accelerate but I believe it's over 100 mph and has roughly the same time on the launch track as Dragster, and Red Force's continues on up to the incline where Dragsters stops a good way before the track heads upwards.
  4. Skyrush looks amazing and honestly even if the restraint isn't the greatest I'll be fine. Only time when I've completely hated a restraint and was is true pain was once on X-Flight where it pressed down so hard and pinned my shoulder and cut off circulation to my arm. Throw in a delayed dispatch on the train in front of us and my arm was very purple getting off. except I'm not a little b**** and got right back in line because X-Flight is fun So as long as Skyrush doesn't do something way worse I'll still love it.
  5. I heard Robin wasn't truly designed by S&S and it was just Sansei using the patents they acquired after they purchased S&S and screwed up royally
  6. From what I've heard it's actually a rather enjoyable coaster and shows that the SLC layout was a good layout that just tracked awful, had horrid trains, terrible restraints, etc. It's not amazing and still has a few bumps here and there but from the multiple trip reports and reviews of the park it's a drastically improved version.
  7. Other than the Fabri Spinning coasters, Green Lantern (of course it's Coasterbill honestly thought Green Lantern was from 2009), and the Flamingoland Volaire, the other coasters how could you say it's a definitively bad coaster? Maybe you're not a huge fan of it and were disappointed but how bad is it compared to raging dumpster fires of yesteryears. Banshee, Skyrush, New Hulk? I cannot see how these are objectively bad. Please do not turn this into most overrated coasters I know people have subjective opinions but what I was trying to get at with the creation of the thread was if there has been a large decrease in fundamentally wrong coasters.
  8. I've noticed a trend recently, have any larger coasters been made in this decade (2010-on) that honestly suck? (because I know there is some crap going into tiny parks/overseas) Of course there are mediocre or underwhelming coasters, but from what I've seen its nothing like what Vekoma was churning out from the late 80s to the mid 2000s. There has been an extreme push for increasing rider comfort, from many Vekomas receiving new trains/restraints, B&M converting their stand ups and the creation of their vest restraints, Mack and Intamin essentially using only lap bars for a vast majority of their coasters, etc. And now Vekoma seems to be becoming a truly good coaster manufacturer, where a decent amount of people wanted a Vekoma hyper over an Intamin hyper. Premier Rides has become even more smooth since Skyrocket. RMC is taking some of the crappiest wooden coasters and making them into masterpieces. B&M stepped up to make Fury and Leviathan. Gerstlauer has gotten better since the introduction of the Infinity Coaster and make even better Euro Fighters. S&S is making a decent amount of coasters, and they are pretty good. New coasters were all over the board from incredible to awful from as late as the 2000s, and have gone to good/okay to incredible, and if the quality margin continues to shrink at this rate, I can't wait to see what manufacturers have in store for us! Some may say that Six Flags cloning their 4D free spins over and over is awful, although it is disappointing that not every park gets a unique coaster, it's Six Flags. They could honestly chose a worse ride to clone, they are cheap, marketable, relatively unique, and take up very little land. Anyways, any bad recent coasters anyone can think of? (mainly in US and Europe parks)
  9. Honestly it kinda sucks how SF will probably never convert their stand ups. Although I really liked Scorcher, Green Lantern and Riddler are stuck as they are because of Bizarro and Scream. I could only barely see Apocalypse being converted and that's a stretch based on how SFA is treated.
  10. The only standup I've been on was Georgia Scorcher and I really liked it for what it was. It had a short line, some cool and snappy transitions, and wasn't too forceful on the legs. There was a breakdown while we were on the brake run and I didn't have the restraint in the best position so I either had to awkwardly squat or crush my man region for about 10-15 minutes. I thought that Acrophobia was worse on the region than Scorcher. (it was still awesome) I'd be perfectly fine at least trying Vortex if I have the time between the big three and Nighthawk
  11. Barron for the theming Not to obscure like everyone has been doing but with Mystic Timbers opening up soon, Kings Island
  12. I'm guessing it's going to be a DC super hero/villain themed coaster, and probably a villain because of the Villains Unleashed addition. Question is, which one? Bizarro maybe if it actually is purple, Joker? I can't think of too many not relatively obscure villains to base it off of
  13. Planning on heading my first time on Sunday. Don't plan on getting everything done as I may head back during the summer and besides like the first 4-5 coasters in their lineup, it's nothing all too stellar (Fury tho ) Honestly if I can get at least 3 rides on Fury, 2 on Afterburn, and 1 on Intimidator I'd be a happy camper, throw in Nighthawk as I really like Firehawk and love flyers and want to ride it's slightly inferior brother. What other coasters/rides should I plan? I don't exactly want to credit whore when I don't have a ton of time and it may be busy that day? Definitely looking into riding the topscan though. Also, I ordered my Platinum Passes through Kings Island, but with Kings Island not being open for a few weeks, I can't exactly get them there right now. Any workaround to get my passes or does my first visit have to be to Kings Island?
  14. I'd say Intamin due to Maverick and having some awesome launch coasters, I love Thunderbird but that's one B&M launch coaster (and Hulk) vs Intamin who has dozens. While it seems B&M is starting to get more intense and more creative with Banshee, Fury, Mako, and Thunderbird, Intamin has been doing great things as well in the past 5 years with Skyrush, Taron, Flying Aces, etc. But honestly both companies create amazing rides, only rivaled by RMC and Mack, and the only boring (haven't ridden a bad) rides I've ridden by them are Wild Eagle and American Eagle.
  15. Yes, it's cramped but in a very organized way lol. Like a lot of Japan in general
  16. 24/62, should reach the halfway point this year after Carowinds the last week of march and Canada's Wonderland. Maybe hit up Dorney and Worlds of Fun.
  17. 22/126, not too impressive but decent enough. Parks like Kings Island, Holiday World, and Great America really boost that.
  18. 1. Banshee 2. Montu 3. Raptor 4. HitP Batman 5. Dragon Challenge Fire 6. Batman 7. Dragon Challenge Ice
  19. Probably Ben 10 but maybe G Force, that lift hill just looks really uncomfortable. Fuji-Q?
  20. 1. Mako- by far my favorite hyper coaster. Easily the smoothest coaster I have ever ridden and the first half is just full of airtime. The trim after the hammerhead turn was very low the day I rode it and went on it 15 times in one day. I love the airtime on this thing and some people don't like the second half but it's a really good change of pace compared to the other hypers. Throw in good theming, no seatbelts, and great front+back row rides it's an amazing coaster. 2. Diamondback- My first coaster of 200 feet and my home parks hyper. I really love this ride and it has an amazing first half, a decent second half, and an awesome finale. (What's with KI having coasters will really good finales? Like Beast's double helix, Banshee's slo-mo roll, DB's splashdown... well except Adventure Express...) 3. Goliath (SFOG)- This coaster is a ton of fun and back row on a 9 car hyper is always extremely good. It's a really aggressive ride and has a lot of forces. The drop just doesn't wow me, it's not awful, it's just clearly shorter than the other hypers. It's still a ton of fun. 4. Raging Bull- This only applies to front and back row, good ride but not fantastic. I swear this would be way better if the trims were off. Drop is phenomenal and is one of my favorites. 5. Magnum- Oh dang, I really like this ride, but that turn around kills me. The first half of the is ok but those last few hill are so much fun. 6. Titan- It's a good ride with a ton of force but it's just not that interesting overall. Drop is pretty good into the tunnel but honestly it's like a more boring version of Raging Bull without the drop being not as good.
  21. Project 2018 But lets go with Big One for now Holiday Park? (we all know the answer)
  22. Katun, but just barely ahead of iSpeed. How about another Italy park, Gardaland
