  1. ^It was originally posted by Ride Entertainment, which is a company that works with Gerstlauer, Funtime, and a few other companies. I have no doubt that it is real.
  2. To make it worse, they scrap everything except boomerang and mind eraser. B&M unveils their rumored next gen stand up coaster at IAAPA 2017.
  3. My turn. - It comes close to a cliff - Designed by the park - Currently not open
  4. Spinning dragons. (Although it actually doesn't take up any of the same space Orient express did.)
  5. This is a neat thread. I'm going to be that guy at first and say "Killimanjaro safari", but I have other examples too. I saw a deer by the tracks on Screamin eagle at SFStL while I was riding. I also once saw a deer and its fawn (forget the proper sciencey name) on the train at worlds of fun by Prowler Lastly at my home park Funplex (Omaha), I saw a bird actually sit in a seat and ride a tilt a whirl. It rode it three cycles in a row.
  6. Move over Olympia looping. This is the best traveling coaster now.
  7. I wonder if it will operate in the museum. Probably not, but if the maintenance doesn't cost a lot, they could.
  8. So I was at the park today with some friends and we wanted to go into Dinosaurs alive but there was no employee at the entry point. I wandered into the dinostore, where I found out from the cashier that Dinosaurs alive was free to enter today. I asked him if it was because it was closing (because KI's version is) and he said yes. Unfortunately I could not find any signs about DA closing to post here. But, we now have employee confirmation that Dinosaurs alive at Worlds of fun is closing this year.
  9. My last visit to the park was in 2015 but I was able to ride alone then. I don't think anything has changed since then so you should be able to ride alone.
  10. All the roller coasters are worth riding (except maybe boomerang and cosmic coaster). Finnish fling (chance rotor) and Cyclone Sam's (Indoor themed chance wipeout) are definitely worth checking out. There may be others depending on what kind of rides you favor, but those two are definitely unique. -Prowler has comfy padded seats and while not painful, has grown rough.
  11. I thought of this as soon as I heard about it. Edit: I couldn't figure out how to post the meme here because of image issues so I guess here's the link instead. http://ifunny.co/fun/vXlSbaqA5?s=cl
  12. I went to the park the first Thursday of August this year around 8pm and was able to ride 11 of the roller coasters in under 2 hours before the park closed. It was a cloudy and rainy day, which explains the lack of lines. So my advice is to check the weather and go on a rainy day. The rides may be closed some of the day, but it is worth it.
  13. My top 5 hypers Wild thing- this is an unpopular opinion but I haven't been on many hypers (only 5). The floater air is great on this ride and it is pretty smooth and has a long duration. Raging bull- my first and only b&m hyper was very comfy and enjoyable. If it had more airtime it would be my number one. Mamba- same as wild thing but it had a rattle to it and was trimmed a lot so there was not as much airtime. Titan- this is a decent ride. Mr. Freeze reverse blast (SFSL)- this would be great if it didn't feel uncomfortable and bumpy for me. Amazing launch though.
  14. With the exception of their triotech dark rides, I doubt that cedar fair would add theming that could even compare to Europa park, but one could dream!
  15. I wonder what Worlds of fun will announce for next year today? Hoping for a coaster, but realistically expecting nothing.
  16. I'm planning on stopping in at the park for the first time this Friday and I noticed that the weather has a 50% chance of rain. I was wonderland if any locals could tell me how bad rain gets before they close down rides (ex: do they close in mist, or heavy downpours?), and which rides are typically still open?
  17. Well, I have never had the chance to ride dragon challenge or go to Universal Orlando, but it seems that closing this ride was "Universally" a bad move. The replacement better be good, or the coaster(s) better be relocated.
  18. I'm visiting Six flags great America for the first time on August 7th (a Monday) and I want to know how bad the crowds will be. Should I get the flash pass? And also, which rides have a single rider line? (I haven't found a reliable list yet.) Thanks!
  19. These reports of bad operations are why I like visiting parks in the fall. In the fall, all the ride ops have at least a few months of experience and are generally better with operations.
  20. Funplex (20 minutes) Adventureland (2 hours) Worlds of fun (2 hours 30 minutes)
  21. Roller coaster database says it has an 886 hourly capacity.
  22. Unfortunately no. Riddler had a long line that stretched out of the entrance, and catwoman broke down right before I rode.
  23. ^I ride it on the green side once. I probably would have ridden it more if it were not a 30 minute wait in the single rider line and 45-60 minutes regular line while elsewhere in the park NTG had a 5 minute wait.
