Well, it is produced by and is an actual Cirque du Soleil so . . . I guess it all balls down to what you like. I love cirque shows. Um... it's probably a Cirque Dreams. It's not Cirque du Soleil. -

Can't argue with that logic. I would rather wait 5 more years for a new coaster than get an SLC anytime in the next four years. In all seriousness, I don't think that we'll be getting an SLC, new or used. All of Cedar Fair's Vekomas were acquired through park buyouts (except for Boomerang at Worlds of Fun in 2000), and we probably won't get the SLC from Canada's Wonderland either because Matt Ouimet did say last year that he isn't a fan of ride relocations. Just because he's "not a fan" doesn't mean it won't still happen. Case in point, Pacific Spin and WindSeeker -

I wouldn't go as far to say "consistently" yet. It's down again. When it's open it does really well and then *poof* it's gone. It also seems to take a long time to dispatch a train as the trains stack for several minutes. It's worth the wait - but for now you are going to wait. EDIT: Ok this is an extended down time now. Said they are making some major adjustments. -

Have you seen it run yet? It's open. I'm not sure if it was just down when he was over there or what. Park isn't too busy today. Especially for a Saturday. Off topic. I can't get over how big people are at this park. I've seen more WOS today than I have all year at other parks. MM was constantly stacking because they'd have to rearrange the larger guests to fit. -

Sounding pretty likely that it is coming to Oceans of Fun and will be replacing Diamond Head. -

Thanks for sharing this! I either read about this process, or someone told me about it in the park, and wondered if it was true. What lowered it? I noticed there was a cable running parallel to the lift hill and wondered if that was part of it? It appeared to be the chain itself only in reverse. -

The Diamondhead slide structure is probably my favorite, besides the new one of course. If I'm being completely honest, I haven't ridden any of them since at least 2013. I rarely go to Oceans of Fun, and when I do, I'm always on the new slides, because they are incredible. Diamondhead used to be the slides that I would spend most of my time at, but now, I stick to the new ones. I do not think that Diamondhead is leaving anytime soon, though. Employees usually have no idea what's going on. In 2013, I remember one of them telling me that Patriot was leaving to make way for Steelhawk. The ones who do know something usually don't talk. I do have to say, though, that a Tornado slide at OOF would be awesome and highly marketable. Slides you can ride with friends or family are always awesome, and the fact that OOF only has one is kinda disappointing. Tornado slides are really thrilling and a ton of fun, so I'd be much happier with a tornado than Diamondhead. While I love those 3 slides, Predator's Plunge does almost the same thing but better. Originally, Predators Plunge was to go where Diamond Head is, so that's why this rumor isn't too far out in left field -

So yesterday I finally got to the park and rode the Monster. It was awesome, but that's not the point of this post. While I was inline for a final ride around 5pm, I got to witness a cart get stuck on the lift. Ever since these vertical lifts first appeared I had always wondered what happens next and I got to see firsthand my answer. The train stopped about 3/4ths of the way up and it stayed there for a few minutes. Then they did an announcement to the guests on the train that they were going to lower the cart back down. Sure enough, slowly but surely the train was lowered back down to the bottom of the lift where they manually opened the restraints one at a time and escorted the guests back into the station. They then cleared the station and queue line of all guests and the ride was down for awhile so that the problem could be fixed (I don't know how long because I didn't stick around long enough to find out). -

I have always found it interesting how the park really doesn't have marquee signs for its rides. The only other park that I can think of that has even fewer marquee signs is Adventureland. I went there yesterday and was surprised there wasn't a huge sign for the Monster. -
I'll be honest, no matter where you eat you will get great food. There are two food court areas. One is near the entrance to WildFire across from the Saloon. They have everything from skillets to burgers and the usual theme park food. There is also a fried bread stand in the area that has sandwiches. The other food court is near ThuNderaTion and it has skillets and other normal theme park food. If you like BBQ - the RibHouse near Lost River is pretty good. If you like Italian and Sea Food, then Sweet Mary's Springhouse near the Grist Mill If you want Pizza - Crossroads near River Blast Honestly I just recommend grazing all day and getting "snacks/mini-meals" so you can sample more stuff. I don't know if anyone has recommended it yet, but we usually go to the Bakery which is right inside the park and buy (reserve) cinnamon rolls to take home later. These things are as big a dinner plate. And it goes without saying, try the cinnamon bread from Sullivan's Grist Mill which is down the hill from the Ice Cream Parlor on the square.

There are shelves to place your items on while ride on everything but the water rides. Your stuff has to go with you on both Lost River and American Plunge. On River Blast there are containers on the actual boats - but there is no guarantee that they will remain dry as the boxes don't always shut tight Our usual progression of the park is... assuming you are not interested in the shows 1. Outlaw Run 2. The Giant Barn Swing 3. PowderKeg (it's usually open by then) 4. Fire in the Hole (be warned it is now on "summer splash mode" - you'll get a little wet) 5. WildFire (LUNCH) you can go either earlier than normal or later than normal it'll be better for you. During the normal "Lunch time" go on the water rides as the lines will be shorter. 6. Train (we usually go right after lunch to let our food settle) 7. Flooded Mine 8. ThuNderaTion 9. Grand Expo Area 10, Rerides/Firemans Landing

As much as I'd hate for them to remove Diamond Head, putting the KBF Tornado there would be a great move. If they situate it correctly then they would be able to access more land over there for future expansions. I like OOF but Hunt Midwest didn't really think ahead with regards to expansion. This is most obvious around Typhoon and Aruba Tuba -
I answered your question - I guess if that makes me worked up and/or a pot/kettle calling a pot/kettle black I'll add those to my pretentious badge you bestowed on me. Man if I keep this up I'll win all of the Internet merit badges in no time. To your last comment - I don't see any names or even titles for that matter because in the end you're really the only one that cares

When did the B&M plant start making Mack track? The 2018 coaster won't be a B&M And you know this from official channels? I just ask, because it wasn't long ago, everybody in here was saying a 2017 B&M is on the way, and now it's a 2018 Mack. Yet, I've yet to see anything remotely resembling an official word for any of it. So until proven otherwise, it seems all of this is no more than speculation... Seemingly baseless speculation at that. Unless you have been personally told by a SDC higher-up "the 2018 coaster won't be a B&M", coming in here and saying that seems a bit pretentious... Man if you get this worked up about things that have absolutely no bearing on your life I'd hate to see you when you get news on something that does. You must be a real joy in real life. It's not speculation that the park is adding the coaster in 2018. This was confirmed verbally by the park at a two different functions. The manufacturer of the ride comes from other sources other than park management that are actually working on the project. If you care not to believe that, I invite you prove that the information is false. It's not difficult to find information that the higher-ups went last August and visited Mack headquarters and rode several of their rides at Europa-Park including the spinning Bluefire. I'm not going to post proof as I don't have the right to post photos from their Facebook accounts without their permission and the hell I'm asking them just to soothe your curio usury. So I guess in the end if being acquainted with people who would know is being pretentious, I'll wear it like a badge of honor. Forgot one thing - they went back in January to Germany. Weird how info of a signed contract came out around that time.
