  1. Yeah the Volcano queue hasn't been like that for awhile now, but I agree that when it was like that, it was horrible and claustrophobic
  2. It has been open since the start of the season for people staying at Worlds of Fun Village.
  3. I wonder if it has a remote to control the lights like the Windseekers do. That would be fun to play with.
  4. I was shocked at the difference in portions given at VF when compared to WOF. I'll hold off casting stones until I see how things are at KI, CP, CanWon and CW next month
  5. I think it's funny how everyone talks down to him like that. He's been on this site years before anybody else here has. And I guarantee you, he has more connections than InsiderMan will ever have. Well, I've been associated with the industry for about 20 years now so I was bound to meet some people and make lasting friendships along the way. The amusement industry is really a lot smaller than people want to make it seem.
  6. Is it because the name hadn't already been taken by someone else? Look son, no one cares what you think you may know. That crap doesn't fly here on TPR. And may I ask who are you to set rules and regulations. Look half of the things you guys put on here is straight BS, but it's only when I post something it's a problem, I'm not gonna start with yawl Oh to be young and know it all again. The moderators have said numerous times that that particular style of posting will not be tolerated, but by all means do continue, it is entertaining to see what all you come up with.
  7. You DO realize by definition you are a millennial, correct? Technically millennials were born between 1980-2000.
  8. Is it because the name hadn't already been taken by someone else? Look son, no one cares what you think you may know. That crap doesn't fly here on TPR.
  9. I know you're not overly familiar with the park, but Africa stretches from Prowler to Monsoon. It's a big "land" and is far from dead. It has the most rollercoasters and thrill rides of any section.
  10. We've been using multiple switchbacks at Wild Thing today, it's about a 45 minute wait, running two trains. The school groups should start leaving around 3 pm and by 5 or so it should be a short wait for most rides. Hopefully dispatch times are better today than they were on Sunday. It appeared you guys were training people and that was the issue, but having 2 people check the entire train while 3 people were in the control booth was kind of a bad show - especially when it was obvious the girl in the Planet Snoopy shirt was having issues and trying her best to go fast (but still slower than her counterpart)
  11. There already is one in Africa. It's called Oceans of Fun
  12. The front gate has been designed for awhile, they've just been waiting to pull the trigger on it. The last I heard is that it would be located more East of the current one and enter the park by Tivoli. Now that might have changed since then but as the grade is more ADA friendly there it would make sense
  13. "down for maintenance" Just like Thunderhawk was at WOF and Riptide at KBF? Considering who got the old gondola from KBF.... *cough* us *cough*.... Our riptide isn't going anywhere. Well they just did a complete overhaul of WOF's last season and it still got ripped out. So you got KBF's gondola and maybe some parts from ours. I wouldn't count on it lasting too much longer.
  14. "down for maintenance" Just like Thunderhawk was at WOF and Riptide at KBF?
  15. LSS should move to where Riptide is (as it is getting removed) Move entrance to SC to the corner by MM Put a new matracer where the current entrance path is to SC Put a new waterfortress where the old splash pad and Giggle Run is Put a Tornado slide where LSS and volleyball courts are. I don't think taking out HF is a good idea at this time as they need to add capacity not subtract
  16. After visiting the park this last weekend the one thing that really stood out to me is the need for capacity in the waterpark. The park really is pretty good on coasters. They could use some more of the newer types of flats (but who couldn't). Entertainment was lacking as well, but maybe that'll get better here in June.
  17. It was a continuation of the conversation. Keep up or butt out. I'd suggest the latter.
  18. Here's a comparison of what you get at the two parks on the Dining Plan. This is really inexcusable. Same restaurant - two different parks. Worlds of Fun Valleyfair
  19. If this is true I don't see them moving Asylum, Carnevil, and Bayou that close to each other . Maybe getting rid of Carnevil and finally giving Hexed a stable home. Or even, this might sound crazy, but moving Bayou to that location for an expansion nest year? They won't be moving any of the permanent haunts. They built the buildings for a reason. Still think they're moving the arcade. If they're going to do a new Haunt it would make more sense to use that building that doesn't have any windows
  20. Operating it beyond August? Considering the popularity of the ride I would assume no, and to phantom's post about the dining plan you gotta stop by the food truck. Pretty decent food actually. It wasn't an option on Sunday
  21. The ramp leading up to the ride does not meet state requirements as it is too steep (at least that's what I've heard). Plus you can't fit much there. It was actually the exit that was the problem
  22. The main reason is because it was not ADA compliant and the fact that they went in and removed everything and actually seeded the area. Honestly if you didn't know a ride was there now... There are better pads that need to be filled first. I have a hard time believing that. For one thing, the building is like half the size and with Asylum being one of the highest rated mazes each year, they are not going to mess with that.
  23. I hate to do this, but I have to say it. I was very disappointed with the offerings on the Dining Plan at Valleyfair when compared to what we have here at Worlds of Fun. At Valleyfair it was basically hamburger/chicken fingers and fries or pizza. I did enjoy the pulled pork at Northwinds Grill but I was shocked at how small the sandwich was at Chickie's and Pete's compared to what we get at WOF. Seriously, only a 1/3 sandwich?!?
