  1. I am still having a hard time believing that this will be a Haunt. The main reason being why would they go through the trouble of adding so many real windows and doors. I was told Entertainment was given these buildings. I would imagine this is more placemaking and perhaps will be our "Ghost Town Alive" area.
  2. When did the B&M plant start making Mack track? The 2018 coaster won't be a B&M
  3. Sounds like the new coaster will be called: Wave Breaker: the Rescue Coaster
  4. They're just in a tough spot because of the competition. They're pretty much the Six Flags America of Cedar Fair. Michigans Adventure says hi Michigan's Adventure is in a crazy small market compared to Dorney and SFA. I'd say the park is treated appropriately as far as new additions are corncerned because it'd be near impossible for them to get good ROI from a huge marquee roller coaster. SFA and Dorney are victims of the insane competition. Dude, do you even internet? How many times does this statement have to be completely destroyed before it goes away.
  5. You forgot to name drop the park's GM's name. That's very pertinent in making it look like you have insider information
  6. There actually is construction going on near Thunderhawk. The new HAUNT building has been painting white/grey and there is construction equipment outside (not a construction guy so I couldn't tell you the exact name of the equipment). Photos?
  7. Yeah, some enthusiasts took their wishes out of their butts and plopped them on the Internet. There was never a shred of evidence to substantiate that at all. The problem with wanting SDC to get these super-tall rides is that the park is so immersive in its theming that something that huge, visible from all over the park, would actually detract from the experience unless it were similarly very well themed. They've proven with Giant Barn Swing that they can do that, but they spent a lot to do it, and that was pre-recession too. In general, all parks are spending less right now because the economy is only just beginning to recover and a return on gigantic, super-expensive things just isn't likely to happen for a lot of places. The crazy thing is, the park is actually doing quite well attendance wise - so much so that they are having to address problems they should have a long time ago. The biggest being crowd flow. They have been forced to redesign areas for better traffic in the park. The main issue (which they are rumored to fix this off season) is the entry area. Rumor is that Spirit may land at BKG soon. Cheap airfare for this new ride is very possible. Attendance could really boom so infrastructure would of upmost importance to fix. Not a rumor.

  10. I think a smaller one would work great! Give the tower a brown paint scheme, theme the heck out of it and it would be a winner! You guys are missing the point of SDC. This is not a Six Flags or Cedar Fair park. Would you ask if Disneyland was going to add a starflyer? No you wouldn't. Use the same thinking when asking "Would SDC add..." here because that's usually the same case Okay... would Disneyland build the world's only wood coaster with inversions? I guess by your logic they would. It would fall into the "one of a kind experience" that I am talking about Look if you want to be an @$$hole you're going to find an exception but for the most part SDC doesn't just install cookie cutter rides and that's what a lot of the posters have been suggesting. Besides Outlaw Run, let's look at SDC's last 3 non-kiddie rides added. Would Disneyland add an S&S Shot Tower? Would Disneyland add a SplashBattle? Would Disneyland add a Giant Swing? You've been temporarily banned before due to your antagonistic attitude towards others who that don't agree with you, so please drop the name calling. It wasn't an antagonistic attitude post - or at least that wasn't the point of the post. Also, I wasn't calling him an asshole, I was saying that anyone COULD be an asshole and find an exception to the rule if they nitpick enough (a huge difference from name calling). The discussion has actually been pretty controlled on both sides. We have what I would consider "SDC purists" trying to explain the park philosophy to those that are not as acquainted. I also think that the three rides that you mentioned are far from cookie-cutter which is what the whole point of the discussion was trying to get across. Exactly.

The 400 ft. versions have a more industrial look that I think could work great in Grand Exposition. Maybe I'm in the minority but I think that would look great and fit in great. Let's not forgot that the primary rumor a few months ago was a giga coaster. extrene minority. I don't want to see the outside world when I'm in the park. I'm still ticked about the condos that got built on the hill that can now be seen from Wildfire
  12. Dang I clicked the link expecting a joke where the next line was "...walked into a bar and..."

  15. Here's a better video. Give some of the queue and it doesn't have the constant guest with the phone distracting you like the other video.
  16. You're comparing apples and oranges here. Dollywood is all about the non-coaster stuff (and honestly it didn't do it that well imo) and CP is all about the world-class coaster lineup and massive collection of flat rides. Although Dollywood was fun but definitely a weaker link in terms of how long I really wanted to stay. The shows I saw were average, food was good but not as good as SDC, and it was the only park on my trip to not end up putting any coasters in my top ten (though WE and Thunderhead did end up at the lower end of the top 20) Also, to answer your question, the beach. Cinnamon bread was not nearly as good as SDC's imo and yes this is pretty much all opinion anyway I'd mention Dragster but pretty much every other coaster at CP begs to differ so yeah that too lol I'm in the same camp thinking that DW does not begin to measure up to SDC in charm and especially food, but I can enjoy DW for what it is. Comparing it to one of the best parks in the nation just because it's owned by the same company isn't really fair.
  17. So now it's suppose to be 2018?? I've determined that no one actually knows anything about what, or when "it's" being built at SDC. And those who do know, haven't/can't say anything because of the amazing "confidentiality" paperwork they had to sign. For now it's all just rumors. Personally. I like the 5,00ft tall 1,500 mph, 120 inversion Intamin, and B&M aqua Trax." However, the new "Mack Spinner" coaster is a great rumor too. Whatever this ends up being, I can't wait to see what it is, and how amazing SDC themes it! Yes 2018. The park is really hoping to be chosen to be the host park for CoasterCon in 2018. I was here on Friday during the ACE event. The management told us we should plan to come back in 2018 because "something big is coming." The area behind those kiddie rides is having work done, and it goes straight down hill. A perfect area to put a first drop. I saw tape and a work truck down the hill from it. Rides are staying put. But you are correct about the year and location
  18. There's absolutely no need to be this butt hurt. It was a joke inspired by you being slightly over dramatic. The interwebz is serious tonight
  19. Wait. I thought you were the "all-knowing" Insider Man who has all these connections. He just wanted to know if you know. You shouldn't call yourself names like that. There are plenty on here to do that for you
  20. Wait. I thought you were the "all-knowing" Insider Man who has all these connections.
  21. Outlaw Run has been open this whole time.
  22. As of now - announcement coming in August. Don't have the exact date yet. I'd expect something vague though going off past experience with SDC
  23. A man asks a question. The man must not be keeping up with the project. There is a lot of land clearing, markers, and a huge project trailer on site. Other than that, nothing "legally" obtained to prove that a coaster is coming. But should a Mack coaster come, it won't be until 2018.
